University of Redlands to host digital ethics lecture

The Banta Center for Business Ethics and Society plans to host lecturer Chris MacDonald for a discussion on the ethics of digital media.

MacDonald is a Duke University fellow and lecturer ar Saint Mary’s University in Halifax. His scheduled talk is titled “Responsibilities in the Blogosphere.”

The event is scheduled to begin with a buffet dinner at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 21 in the Casa Loma Room at University of Redlands.

Admission will cost $10 for university students and employees or $15 for the public.

University of Redlands to offer joint engineering program with Columbia University

University of Redlands announced a new engineering program that will enable students to earn a bachelor’s degree at Redlands while also obtaining a bachelor’s of science degree in engineering from Columbia University.

The program will require students to spend the first three years of undergraduate study at University of Redlands. Students would be able to apply to Columbia University’s School of Engineering and Applied Science during their junior year.

Students who are accepted at Columbia would then spend two additional years studying engineering at that school’s campus in New York City.
