Any questions?

Obviously, the only thing three weeks off did to Poly's football team was prevent it from putting three more W's on its record. Newport Harbor is a solid team from the OC, but Poly made them look like little surfer boys. Like I said, Poly's running game is virtually unstoppable.

Snoop in da' house

Some of you may know that the sons of Wayne Gretzky and Joe Montana play football for Oaks Christian High up in Westlake Village of the San Fernando Valley. Well, we got our own celebs here in the LBC as well. Word is Snoop's son plays quarterback for Poly's freshman team, and he's got Snoop's height. Keep an eye out for this Broadus kid - I think his first name is Corde - in the next few years.

Poly dominance

Poly High's football team gets back on the field after a three-week layoff on Friday against a solid Newport Harbor team. But these Jackrabbits are good. Better than your average Poly team, and that's saying something. Their running game cannot be stopped.

Up and down Bruins

UCLA is a one-point underdog against Arizona Saturday, but go with the Bruins. They are a completely different team at home, and Arizona lost to New Mexico last week.

I told you so...

USC was a big winner; UCLA a big loser, just as yours truly predicted last week...

Quarterback country

High school football fans have a chance to see two of the best high school quarterbacks in the state Thursday night. Mater Dei's Matt Barkley will be at Santa Ana Stadium going up against Cypress. And at Gahr High, Los Alamitos' Clark Evans will go up against Mayfair. Many who saw Barkley throw four picks last week against Carson say the USC-bound 2007 Gatorade National Player of the Year is overrated. We'll see...

L.A. Chargers

I can live without an NFL team in L.A., but I still want one here. The best case scenario would be to get an expansion team here. Short of that, I'd like to the Chargers move up here, and play in the Rose Bowl while a new stadium is built. Of course, the stadium issue is a major road block.

Beanie baby

Ohio State is saying RB Beanie Wells is a go for Saturday's game, after being out with an injured foot. He tells his coach he's "ready to carry 45 times." But he hasn't worked out in 10 days, and he's not going up against Youngstown State this time. He'll be lucky to get 45 yards against the Trojans.
