Let down? How about relief? DLS is a freakin machine. Their execution is a reflection of the xlnt coaching they have. Hands down, DLS gets the most out of their talent in the nation. If you can't beat them with 5 future NFL players, forgetaboutit! Of course I'm speaking of when Marcedes Lewis, Winston Justice et al were defeated by them.
RELIEF my @$$! we would love to play them because wer LBP! We dont fret ANYONE! yeah we LOST the game with 5 NFL'rs BUT lets NOT count the TWO touchdowns dropped including a 80 yrd bomb! Not to mention there was NO film of Maurice Jones Drew because he just enrolled that same week(strategic move)AND!!!That was Coach Raul Lara FIRST year coaching, so to say a RELIEF is for sure NOT a POLY Alum. RESPONSE!!Bring ON the SPARTANS we are the BEST L,B,P!! GO bIG GREEN!!

there's always a desire to play DLS
We know they're one of the top dogz in cali
so being the best means beating the best
and i bet a lot of those guys on the team
were disappointed to hear its not DLS
that they weren't. It's surprising how many
of these websites have DLS not to far from Poly as one of the top teams in CALI but this other team is not even close...just curious
Forget Del La Salle, bring on Corona. The better team is Corona and it is a shame Poly doesn't get them.
DLS will lose to Corona and Poly will beat Grant with defense as usual but Poly/Corona would be the best ticket, the most interesting game.
MaxPreps has POLY and CORONA at the top so the top should play each other. Screw the old losses and get the best teams to play each other.
Disappointed? Not really. None of us will relly understand the madness that goes along with thesem bowl championships. We are Poly we fear no one. I would have loved the opportunity to play DLS or Corona. Grant in the media is formidable opponent. they come in undefeated, the have beat two out if state teams that went om to win state titles for thier respective states. So with that in miond and the research that I have done independently, Grant is a team that we can be excited about playing. They are the team we were matched up with> So let's stop cryiong about it and go in there Saturday and handle our business as usual. Nothing has changed but the name of the next team to fall at the hands of THE LONG BEACH POLY JACKRABBITS ! ! ! ! POLY POLY POLY
It would have been nice to play DLS. If DLS had played the 1997 version of the Jackrabbits, there streak would have come to an end alot sooner than it did. Back to the matter at hand, I think that Poly hasn't played their best football of the season yet. Grant Sacramento will be tested. LBP 28 Sac. Grant 14. Go Jackrabbits!
LbC hotdog ur FULL OF COW DUNG!!you must play for wilson, or flakewood, or one of those POLY victims in MOORE league, to say Corona can beat POLY is moronic, First of all CORONA dont play nobody thats why they did not get the invite to the OPEN Championship the REAL D-1 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP. The Proof is in the Pudding just look at the schedule a real FOOTBALL fan would agree! The STRENGTH of schedule is hands down more difficult than CC, i mean they play temecula and murrieta put those teams on POLYS plate and we'll EAT em to. I feel if fLAKEWOOD played CC they'll beat em and their only runner up in moore league, and in my opinion TESORO will BEAT Corona Cent...So CHEW on THAT HOTDOG!!
Poly played Corona in the preseason about 4/5 years ago. Corona was much bigger and had a couple of former college/pro football players on their coaching staff. Poly beat them. Don't be so sure what Poly can and can't do.
FYI, with football season almost over, the Poly girls basketball team has been named National No. 1 in the USA Today poll. This is the team that has won the state crown the last three years in a row. Some things around Poly never change--like being the best.
The truth is in the outcome. Poly is a great team but Corona would win. They might have lost to De LaSalle too this year.
Grant is a very good team, had heart and came back. Poly played a Miami team that wasn't even on the MaxPreps top 25 as the season rolled on. Lakewood was rated where nationally? St. Bonne's lost because of the Poly defense but is was still a loss.
Poly is a great team with amazing defense but no imagination on offense.
No I didn't go to any school in the LBC or Corona which means I can look at these teams without a bias.
Poly will be back next year and be in the hunt again.
