Lakewood is a very good ball club but they can be much better. They'll have to be to compete in the playoffs. Poly was much better than they were thought to be. Their QB made some great plays and their receivers were terrific...big catch after big catch. I saw the game on Prime Ticket later that night and Poly was given a TD on the last play of the half..they were luck to get the TD call. Also, Lakewood had a Touchdown called back on a bad call by the officials. I don't think the game was as close as the score indicates but it was a terrific game to watch.
poly will get better. improvements in the kicking
game can change the defense.
I agree with Zev. Lakewood is better than Poly this year. But make no mistake, Poly has excellent athletes and is well coached, even if Lara does wear shorts (too old at his age). Poly will be a force in the playoffs if they continue to improve. Remember, Lakewood only has lost to #1 Crenshaw by 1 point. Anyway, great for the Moore League.
