This is all reminiscent of how it was when I was a kid in Detroit about twenty years ago. It is time to remember that high school sports are about the kids, not the fans. It is time to schedule Poly's games on Saturday afternoon, not Friday night. And if that does not work, then restrict attendance to the player's parents. And as a last resort, do not allow any fans into the game. I remember playing games without fans when I was in high school, and it is better than abandoning sports all together.
i am very glady to hear there has been arrest in the case in the killing of this very innocent young girl. i think swift action should be taken against these guys and they should never be allowed into society every again. And to this guy detroit guy its odvious you have made a comment about poly games and you have no idea what you are talking about. for starters what gave you the idea that it was that poly was playing that this incadent happened? you are not in detroit and you are speaking on somthing that someone like yourself who is not origanly from here has no idea about what realy goes on. I think you should know what your talking about clearly before you start to make any type of suggestion. Remember your a implanted outsider whos roots dont began here.

Detroit guy, yes you say your son plays for Poly and my daughter just graduated in June. People need to quit blaming Poly for every thing that happens. Maybe Wilson should be restricted to daylight games also since it happened there. I guess when we played at Millikan and the school was on lockdown because of a bomb scare that was Poly's fault to. The paper said a pipe bomb was found in the neighborhood. I guess that was Poly's fault also. There are good and bad kids at all schools, not just Atlantic Avenue and PCH.

After reading the comments,it goes to show the FEAR these urban terrorists HAVE ACCOMPLISHED.
What needs to be done everyday to fight them back and have that PEACE of mind, is to say "not today baby"!

Get past who's at fault and change what you as a person can change.
Prayers have been answered to find the people responsible, SO IT DOES WORK.

I don't blame Poly for everything that happens. I blame those (mostly) non-students who congregate around certain Poly events. And this is also true of several other schools in the area. This has to change, which is why I would support moving football games to Saturday during daylight hours, at least when one city school plays another. Daylight moderates a lot of antisocial behavior.
If that doesn't help, then more drastic measures can be taken.
