Haderlein v. Madison
The Two Steves got into it tonight over the much protracted Super Manuel Bros. discussion. Madison talked - a lot - about the contractor's record and practices, leading Haderlein to call him out for delaying traffic relief demanded by "the people watching."
If we're looking for ways to fund Rose Bowl improvements, how about a little Thunderdome?
"TWO STEVES ENTER. ONE STEVE LEAVES."
In other news, my commute home took three minutes.

Madison has pretty much decided he needs union money more than he needs to serve his constiuents and Haderlein is constantly under siege by the seething NIMBYS in his district.
We are going to quickly transition into "Steve Fatigue" and the rise of the Dark Horse.
A lone warrior searching for his destiny...a tribe of lost children waiting for a hero...in a world battling to survive, they face a woman determined to rule.
Robin "Mad Max" Salzer (with AMV playing the Tina Turner role as "Auntie").
Jackie Robinson showed a lot of courage and independence in awarding the contract and bucking the union line. It was the right decision given the facts.
I concur with the dark horse thought. Salzer and Robinson are two fresh voices on the political scene and Salzer barely lost to Robinson for reasons out of his control. He seems honest, hard working and a good communicator with as good listening skills. If he runs in District 6 I believe he'll work well with the neighborhood associations. Until I heard him at several forums I was not sure of his motives. He seems like a regular guy that cares about the community that help him become successful in the restaurant business.
Steve vs Steve?
I had a dream about that once.
Madison is so far out of it. WPRA should recalled him after his NFL flip flop. And he wants to run for congress. If Madison doesn't have the time to be a reliable citycouncilman how the heck does he think he'll have time to be in congress. The best way to sum up Steve Madison is that it's all about Steve.
Does seem like Robinson had a point when she asked how Madison's semi-filibuster at the urging of the unions was different from people lobbying for Bakewell and Heritage Square.
I'm for the none of the above choice when it comes to Steve vs. Steve.
I'm a fan of MAD magazine and I'm wondering which one's the white spy and which is the black one.
How many limousine liberals does it take to screw in a light bulb? None - they pay a conservative to hire a day laborer for less than minimum wage to do it for them.
Does Madison talk more when he phones it in or in person? Is Haderlein more of an air head when he drives with the top down?
D.
This is a good point...Madison the Mouthpiece does talk less when he phones it in so maybe he should be encouraged to phone it in. However, it was great to watch Madison (the guy that brags he has conducted over 70 jury trials) get his head handed to him. Madison talked so long out of depseration to justify himself and the fact that he was screwing his own constiuents that he eventually made a key error (regarding the City's ability to monitor the hiring of apprentices) which Haderlein drove a verbal truck thru.
Madison sat there red-faced with a stunned look on his face as his entire case fell apart on him.
Steve's a Maserati Liberal.
I still think a dark horse will come out in District 6 and give Madison the fight of his life. If Gene Masuda without any charisma can almost upset Haderlein in District 4 I think a dark horse who is not one of Madison's posse will be a pleasant suprize. All Madison has now is money. His credibility and reliability speaks volumes. It will be interesting to watch.
Steve Madison is a loser. Haderlein may have given us a glimpse of what the 2011 Mayoral Election may be like. Throw in Chris Holden and it will really be hot. Here I think a dark horse may jump to the front as the others are attacking each other. I thought that the past District 1 race was one of the hottest in decades, wait till this one peaks out. Haderlein and Madison may knock each other out with Holden sneaking in against a dark horse who could sneak in by a nose.
How many more days till Steve Madison is out of public office?
TOO MANY.
