Public Eye opens

The Lawrence
Attenion blogheads and serial comment-leavers: Former Star-News editor and now SGVN Public Editor Larry Wilson is now on the scene via The Public Eye.

Larry had the stones to stride out of his office and pronounce his imminent blog supremacy over this one ... I wish him luck!

Wonder how long it will take for Larry to print something
about his old roommate and Pasadena's next City
Manager?

Fire Larry Wilson said:

Larry makes a terrible blogger because he is a control freak who doesn't tolerate criticism and Larry regularly belittles people he disagrees with like Rene Amy who are about 100 times as entertaining as Larry.

I will be boycotting Larry's site in the hopes that he will be fired. LANG should realize that Larry is a big part of why the PSN has lost so many readers.

Hey, be nice to Larry.
Everyone knows that he was never the same after he came back from that job for Parsons in Saudia Arabia where he had his own Lawrence of Arabia experience.

Paul (that talker guy) said:

The simple way to avoid Larry's navel gazing is to not read his musings.

I can imagine the furor if Rick's cronies try to get him installed as Pasadena CM. When I first ran, I remember one woman who asked me what I thought of him. When I mentioned that I lived up the street from him, she slammed the door in my face. (That was all it took to prompt her ire, a physical proximity to our former mayor.) She still lives there. I fear for anyone who might try to resurrect him as CM (as much as I'm sure he relishes that very thing).

Paul (not to be confused with the other poster with a similar meaning but different last name.)

I expect Larry will generate lots of anonymous posters, given that anyone posting criticism will be wary of retribution in the pages of our local papers...

SGVN opinion pieces aren't signed, after all, are they?

Wow, OK. I hate to play the censor because I'm known for saying some off-the-wall things, but I had to delete the last comment.

There are limits, I'd like to believe they're set far enough out.

Is there a limit to the amount of disrespect Larry shows for people that he disagrees with?

So Larry's primary work duties are outside Pasadena and Larry has started a blog.

Here is a Larry quote about Pasadena Now:
----------------
Pasadena Star-News editor Larry Wilson is skeptical of a local website’s plan to cover Pasadena with reporters in India. “To pretend you can get the feel and the culture of a town as complicated and interesting as Pasadena by e-mailing and doing things over the Internet is nutty,” he says.
--------------
Unless of course, its Larry doing it.

The only real complaint I have about Larry is he doesn't know the difference between eyeliner and mascara.

anonymous said:

That's the depth of his reporting, too. Eyeliner or mascara?

Quote-based reporting or more third tier celebrity elbow-rubbing?

Bring fact-based reporting and hard-hitting commentary back to the S-N, or step aside and let someone who wants to run a real paper do it.

I can't wait for the Bogaard-orchestrated bring Rick Cole back to Pasadena campaign. Larry's already signed on as pr manager.

Or is it all a pretense to get those two-guys-under-the-stars-in-the-desert camping trips restarted? We haven't read about one of those in a long time, Larry.

I believe that the Cole return campaign will be orchestrated by Gordo, Madison and McAustin (all through Crowfoot). Bogaard may go along if there is no better candidate.

Bill Crowfoot said:

LOL. Someone has an overactive imagination.
