Miscellany
Updated: "Marijuana Man" turned out to be none other than Martin Truitt!
-- Took some pictures of the Doo Dah for eventual posting, including the chicken standing in as Wayne Lusvardi.
-- Reports of Sierra Madre blogger Jim Snider's suicide death(?) are true.
In a ... unique ... account of a conversation with Molly Okeon, a Foothill Cities poster openly contemptuous of Jim channels a VH1 narrator and appears to credit her for terminal spiral (emphasis mine):
Months later I had an opportunity to ask the author of this article, Star News staff writer Molly Okeon, what it was she saw of value in The Cumquat when she wrote this obvious puff piece. Her answer was that she wrote what she was told to write, and that this article in no way reflected her personal views on the matter. She seemed to want to make it known to me that it wasn’t her idea, and that she shouldn’t be held accountable for it. When I asked who it was that was interested in publicizing Jim Snider’s on-line venture, and why she was asked to relay the desired message, she declined to answer. It was only later that she would redeem herself, as you shall see. ... On July 1, 2007, an article entitled “Planned Web Site Raising Concerns,” appeared in the Pasadena Star News. It would rock what was left of Snider’s world. Molly Okeon now had her second cover story on this fellow, one that was decidedly less flattering to its subject.

is anyone who has a blog a blogger? I thought he was a cartoonist.
He might have been a Christian, a Satanist, an Elk or an amateur wrestler. What brought him quasi-public stature however was his blogging.
Eric Maudry is unbelievable in what he belives in, including himself. Thanks for setting the record straight. Although all his fans live in bizzaroworld too, so they may not realize the facts. Scotty needs to beam him over to Poormona.
Do you not mean Molly R. Okeon?
Personally, this is devastating news. Sad.
Jim and I were supposed to do a web TV show together.
I did not find out about this until just now.
I'm completely crestfallen and saddened. My thoughts are with his family and loved ones.
RIP.
Hope your journalism malpractice insurance is paid up, bucky, 'cause even with the cutesy strike-out treatment, and his quasi-public figure status, you may have strayed over the legal line with teh suicide gag if it turns out not to be . . . especially in light of Molly By Golly's straight piece in today's paper . ..
Media Law 101: You can't libel the dead. Autopsy
today was inconclusive and the coroner said they were waiting on toxicology results, which can take days or weeks. Coroner's office suggested toxicology likely to show Jim drank himself to death.
if u can't libel the dead then why do muslim's get so upset when u talk about the prophet
I went over to the read the article in question, and in context the meaning of the piece takes on aspects quite different from what it is you are inferring here. Why did you delete the quotes cited from Molly's articles? They pretty much made the point of whoever it is that wrote the piece you're speaking of here.
