Kings’ Bob Miller on the DL

For the first time since November, 2002, Kings’ Hall of Fame play-by-play man Bob Miller will miss calling a game as assigned, staying at his West Hills home with an illness instead of appearing at Staples Center for tonight’s game against Montreal.

Instead of having radio play-by-play man Nick Nickson move over from the radio booth, it’s been decided that Jim Fox and Daryl Evans will together call the game on FSWest at 7 p.m. Both former Kings are the long-time analysts for the TV and radio broadcasts.

Nickson will stay on radio and have Rich Hammond, the former Daily News’ Kings reporter and current reporter employed by the team, be his partner.

Since he started calling games for the Kings in 1973, Miller has missed 17 previous assignments.
