The Kings are only the second No. 8 seed to advance to the Stanley Cup Finals (Edmonton in 2006), the seventh team to reach the Stanley Cup Finals in 14 games (12-2 record) since 1987 when the NHL went to a four-round best-of-seven series format. No team has done it in fewer games, the first NHL team to win eight straight road games in a playoff year.
Dating back to last year, the Kings have won 10 straight road playoff games – an NHL record for consecutive road playoff wins spanning more than one year.
