Week 5 is the earliest in a season that a single week has featured three Top 10 matchups – in or out of conference play — according to ESPN research.
None of those games, of course, involves USC or UCLA.
Beth Mowins, who has made a mark as a potential full-time NFL play-by-play broadcaster in her recent work doing Raiders’ exhibition games, has the call of UCLA-Arizona from the Rose Bowl (Saturday, 7:30 p.m., ESPN) with former NFL (St. Louis Rams) and University of West Virginia tight end Anthony Becht and Rocky Boiman.
Meanwhile, Dodgers play-by-play man Joe Davis has a second week in a row calling USC as he does the Trojans playing host to Arizona State at the Coliseum (Saturday, 5:30 p.m., Channel 11) with Brady Quinn and Jenny Taft.
