Wednesday could be the first day of your major league baseball career.

Got the lowdown on the MLB Scouting Bureau's try-out camp for all players 16 and older at the MLB Urban Youth Academy (Compton Community College Campus, 901 East Artesia Blvd., Compton).

Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. Tryout starts at 9 a.m.

No fee to participate. Bring you own equipment. And sign the liability waiver, either at the field or in advance by visiting www.MLB.com, and clicking on the link to the tryout camps found at the bottom of the homepage. Those under the age of 21 must have a parent or legal guardian present to also sign the waiver. The MLB Scouting Bureau Tryout Camp at the MLB Urban Youth Academy is one of 22 stops around the country.

The MLB Urban Youth Baseball Academy is part of Major League Baseball’s Urban Youth Initiative. Located on the campus of Compton Community College, the Academy is a $10 million facility offering free baseball and softball instruction to youth throughout Southern California.
