davetaylor.bmpThe franchise leader with 1,111 games and team captain from '85-'89, Taylor became the anchor for the team's famed Triple Crown line with Marcel Dionne and Charlie Simmer for nine seasons in the 1970s and '80s, and was the first line in NHL history where each player scored 100 points or more in the same season (1980-81). That season, Taylor had a career-best 112 points (47 goals, 65 assists). In 1991, Taylor won both the Masterson Trophy (perseverance and sportsmanship) and King Clancy Trophy (leadership on and off the ice and who has made a significant humanitarian contribution in his community).
Taylor spent nearly 30 years with the Kings, acting as general manager for nine seasons until he was let go in April, 2006. The highlight of Taylor’s front office tenure was when the Kings upset the Detroit Red Wings in a 2001 first-round playoff series. He was named by The Hockey News as the NHL Executive of the Year at the end of that 2000-01 season.
