So Cal's All-Time Roster: No. 71
No. 71:
Our pick:
==Joe Scibelli, Rams (1961-'75)
It was just a small story in the New York Times, on Dec. 12, 1991:
Joe Scibelli, a standout offensive lineman for the Los Angeles Rams from 1961 to 1975, died of cancer today at New England Baptist Hospital. He was 52 years old. He played in the Pro Bowl in 1968 and was team captain during his last 10 years with the Rams. After retiring, he ran a produce distributorship in Springfield, Mass., his hometown. Mr. Scibelli is survived by his wife, Louise, and a son, Chris.
Scibelli, out of Notre Dame, helped the Rams win the 1967 and 1969 NFC Coastal Division and the 1973-75 NFC West. The Rams they led the NFL in scoring in 1967 and 1973, total yards gained in 1973 and the NFC in yards rushing in 1973 while he was on the line.
We remember him for much bigger things.
