So Cal's All-Time Roster: No. 65
No. 65:
Our pick:
==Tom Mack, Rams (1966-'78)
The first Rams offensive lineman inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Mack, the second overall pick in the draft out of Michigan, played all 12 years in the NFL in L.A. and didn't miss a game -- 184 in a row, third all-time in team history behind Merlin Olsen and Jack Youngblood. He went to nine Pro Bowls in a row ('67-'75) and 11 overall. Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1999, Mack, according to his bio, "was one of only two rookies to survive the entire season on George Allen’s veteran-dominated squad. Tom got a starting chance in the fifth game when starter Don Chuy was injured. Mack moved into the lineup the next three games, then relinquished the role briefly to Ted Karras before grabbing the starter’s job again. He remained the Rams’ starting left guard for the next 12 years."
Other No. 65s:
==Max Montoya, UCLA football ('77-'78), Raiders ('90-'94)
==Mickey Marvin, Raiders ('77-'87)
Sports Illustrated's pick for the all-time No. 65: Elvin Bethea.
