So Cal's All-Time Roster: No. 64

No. 64:
Our pick:
==Jack Reynolds, Rams (1970-'80, also wore No. 54)

no64.jpgHe supposedly used a hacksaw to slice a Volkswagen Beetle in half after his Tennessee team lost a game to Ole Miss, 38-0. Don't miss the point to that story. "Hacksaw" was the Rams' first-round draft pick (No. 22 overall) in '70, and ended up with 897 career combined tackles, most by a Rams' linebacker and second overall in team history. Two Pro Bowls and 13 post-season games, he was part of the Rams' 1980 Super Bowl squad, and then went to play for San Francisco and won two Super Bowls in three seasons. The highlight of Reynolds' career, according to a Rams' fan site, was on Sept. 6, 1979 -- opening day of the season. Reynolds crawled into the the end zone on a fumble by Denver quarterback Craig Morton to secure a 13-9 victory. It was the first and only TD of Reynolds' career. And since the game was nationally televised, plenty of people 'Saw it.

Other No. 64s:
==Roy Foster, USC football ('78-'81)
==Damon Bame, USC football ('62-'63)
==Terry Donahue, UCLA football ('64-'66)

Sports Illustrated's pick for the all-time No. 64: Jerry Kramer, over Reynolds and Randall McDaniel.
