So Cal's All-Time Roster: No. 62
No. 62:
Our pick:
==Bill Bain, Rams (1979-'85)
The offensive guard and tackle took the long route to Trojanville (where he actually wore No. 66). Born in L.A. and starting out at St. Paul High in Pico Rivera, he went to the University of Colorado, then San Diego City College, before two years at USC, where he was All-American in '74 and part of the national championship team. The second-round pick of the Green Bay Packers eventually made it to the Rams (wearing No. 62) and played on their Super Bowl XIV squad.
Lately, Bain has been in the news joining several prominent former NFL players who have appeared before the U.S. Senate Commerce Committee in their hearings on the league's retirement system and provisions for disabled players.
Other No. 62s:
==Scot Shields, Angels ('01- )
==Al Krueger, USC football ('38-'40)
Sports Illustrated's choice for the all-time No. 62: Jim Langer.
