Just the facts, Mr. Celebrity ... Just the facts.
Latest WeAreSC.com blog posting by USC ham radio play-by-play guy Pete Arbogast covers the ugly, bad and good (again, in the wrong order) of breaking the law.
First, he recounts how his apartment in Venice was pillaged while he slept on that new mattress he keeps pimping on the radio ads ...
...both of our laptops and cell phones and other electronic equipment was stolen. They got in through a window, daring as it was, in the middle of the night from our second floor landing. the latch was locked, but they got it open. ... It's all very depressing and time consuming. ... The LAPD guy came from the Venice office. He knew me right away, and we talked some ball. ...
Nothing slows up a crime-scene investigation than that feined flattery in being recognized "right away" and having to go through that whole awkward conversation, pretending you're interested in the other person's life story when it's really yours you want him to know more about ...
But there's more ... Of course, there's more...
Then, Citizen Pete couldn't resist recounting his last few days, before the unfortunate events, by admitting he went to the Neil Diamond concert at the Hollywood Bowl on Sunday:
he was great. It was the third time I had seen him in concert, the first time I paid for tickets. The other two were these concerts way back when at the Greek when I snuck in from the hillsides. ... There were ten or so of us who made a jailbreak for it---I don't know how many made it. I had dressed well, so as to blend in with the crowd if I managed to escape the security guys. I jumped the fence, slid down a hill and some guy gave chase, but I eluded him by jumping into the men's room and standing on a toilet in a closed stall while the opening Crunchy Granola Suite played. Then he left, and I got a free concert.
Let's review:
He complains about getting his stuff ripped off, but then brags about ripping off the Greek Theatre box office back in the day -- twice -- while eluding security and getting a "free concert."
I'm missing the life lesson in all this.
