A Boise State recruiting tool in SoCal: The Billboard

Something that mightl re-inspire billboard giant and large USC athletic funder Brian Kennedy (yes, who bought his way into having his name added to the Howard Jones practice field) new ammo for his Trojan football propaganda:
Boise State's 12-0 football program has been putting up billboards around San Diego as the Broncos prepare to face Texas Christian in next Tuesday's otherwise meaningless Poinsettia Bowl at Qualcomm Stadium, proclaiming that "Bronco Nation" is not just in town, but wants your children of football-playing age.
The Idaho Statesman has a story (linked here) about Matt Strohfus, a former Boise State fullback (2002 graduate) who works for L.A.-based Lamar Advertising, arranging to put up four BSU billboard to enhance the recruiting efforts in the area. It only cost the school $1,500 in production costs.
You'd think San Diego State woulda thunk of that one.
The billboards, one of which is near the San Diego Airport and another that's right outside Qualcomm Stadium, has five players: tailback Ian Johnson, safeties Jeron Johnson and Ellis Powers, wide receiver Vinny Perretta and cornerback Kyle Wilson. Four of the five are from Southern California, while Perretta is playing his last game in his hometown.
