On this date in 1951: The first coast-to-coast televised NFL title game, from the Coliseum

blog-la-coliseum-large.jpgIn the 1951 NFL Championship, where the Rams of Los Angeles (formerly of Cleveland) defeated the Browns of Cleveland, 24-17, at L.A. Coliseum on Dec. 23, 1951, it was the first title contest beamed coast-to-coast.

The DuMont Network had the rights, purchasing them from the NFL for $75,000.
