Tiger's tee (vee) time Wednesday

Tiger speaks. Golf world takes notice.

As host again of the Chevron World Challenge this weekend from Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, but not playing of course due to his surgically repaired left knee back in June, Tiger Woods has his pre-tournament press conference Wednesday at 1 p.m., which Golf Channel will carry live. In case Tiger has something important to say.

Woods' 16-player event begins on Golf Channel Thursday and Friday at noon, hosted by Rich Lerner with Frank Nobilo. There's a half-hour preview show Thursday at 11:30 a.m. Both rounds reair at 6 p.m. NBC (Channel 4) has third and final-round coverage on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. each day.
