Coming Friday: What's Mark Jackson's next move?

Mark Jackson and Stuart Scott appear in an ESPN NBA promo from 2008.

Mark Jackson, in his second year as the ABC/ESPN NBA analyst has, as all good point guards do, several options to consider.

He could continue with the TV gig. His work so far shows plenty of promise, enough candor and education for the viewer's enjoyment, and plenty more upside.

Or, the NBA's all-time No. 2 assist man could pass on that and look harder for a coaching job. He was in the mix for the Knicks job last season and has now procured an agent to help with networking for positions that open up.

Such as ... USC's?

It's a pretty natural fit if you start to arrange the puzzle pieces.

The Jackson family currently lives in Calabasas, but according to the latest reports (linked here), they've moving again -- mostly to get their son, 17-year-old Mark Jr., back on the Taft High of Woodland Hills basketball team.

We'll talk more about that, his other hopes and dreams and whatever else is on his mind in Friday's column.
