"What is a nit-wit, a quick kick and Twitter?"

It's all related to this poorly worded press release that somehow blindsided us:

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger announced Tuesday as a member of the Board of Directors for the USA Bid Committee in its efforts to bring the FIFA World Cup to the United States, is spreading the good word of his support on Twitter and on video.

To follow Gov. Schwarzennegger on Twitter, go to twitter.com and simply search for Schwarzenegger and visitors will be taken to his "tweet" on behalf of the U.S. effort to return the FIFA World Cup to the United States in 2018 or 2022. The link is www.twitter.com/Schwarzenegger.

A link to his video message will be within the body of his Twitter message.

The video message is also available at ussoccer.com and on YouTube at www.youtube.com/ussoccerdotcom.

OK, we'll save you the time. Here it is:

As governor of California, the most populous state in the U.S. with a significant history of playing host to FIFA World Cup men's and women's matches, Schwarzenegger will play an influential role as a member of the Board of Directors as the USA Bid Committee prepares its application and campaign to bring the world's largest sporting event to the United States.

"Soccer is the world's most popular sport and California has been home to some of its most exciting games, and I am proud to be a part of bringing the World Cup back to the United States," Gov. Schwarzenegger said earlier this week. "The millions of fans from around the globe that will travel to the United States to cheer their teams will prove a great benefit for our state, our nation and the world of soccer."

The United States is one of nine candidate nations that have formally declared their desire to host the FIFA World Cup in 2018 or 2022.

Next on the gov's agenda: Finding enough cash to keep Beckham in California. Let's return our focus now to the crippling budget and trying to sell off San Quentin State Prison to the highest thief.
