Passing the Clipper torch from Leno to O'Brien on the 'Tonight Show'

Jay Leno made the remark during his final "Tonight Show" monologue from the Burbank studios last Friday, referring to all that's happened since he took over the show from Johnny Carson in 1992:

"You know the only thing that hasn't changed in 17 years? The Clippers still suck."

Hardy har har.

Now, we're three minutes into Conan O'Brien's first "Tonight Show" monologue Monday from his new set at Universal Studios, and he noted:

"This studio holds 380 people ... it's exactly like being at a Clippers game."

(Loud laughter)

"I found what works in this town," O'Brien added with a smirk.

And what sorta doesn't.

During Tuesday's monologue, he made some reference to the Dodgers' Manny Ramirez being halfway through his 50-game suspension for testing positive for female fertility drugs, then made a joke about his mood swing, etc...

A few chuckles, but ...

By the way, from all reports, Ramirez never took the fertility drugs, all he had in his possession was a perscription for it, indicating that his high testerone levels were the result of steroid use. But again, until we hear the full story from him, in whatever abridged form he expects to present it, twist the jokes however they work for you.
