50 years ago today: The final legal hurdle cleared in the Dodgers' deal with L.A.

Eleven days after a 9-3 win over the Chicago White Sox in Game 6 of the 1959 World Series gave the Dodgers their first World Series title in their second year in L.A., the team cleared the last last legal hurdle in their contract with the city of L.A. to lead to construction of Dodger Stadium in Chavez Ravine.

The United States Supreme Court denied federal review of the California Supreme Court decision affirming the Dodgers' contract with the city of Los Angeles.
