Week 6 L.A. NFL TV schedule: The rush to figure out who'll use the wildcat next
Headline on a story on NFL.com: Would Rush Limbaugh make a good NFL owner? Find out what Commissioner Goodell thinks.
No, we really don't care. But since you've brought us this far ...
It's video from the NFL Network (linked here). But, it's not really.
"It's too early to discuss," NFL Net reporter Tara Henderson, in Boston, paraphrased Goodell's comments. The team isn't even for sale. Allegedly.
But she got this quote from Colts owner and CEO Jim Irsay: "I just couldn't support that. I've only met Rush once but when I see some of the comments said, they're too insensative and incendiary, I'd have to vote no."
Incendiary ... good word. Rush, look that one up.
Meanwhile, we'll try to figure out which NFL game this weekend is worth rushing around to watch while the Dodgers-Phillies NLCS Game 3 is on TV (and, no, with Fox doing the ALCS, it has no baseball to worry about on this day, just wondering how many will actually watch Philadelphia at Oakland):
SUNDAY:
== 10 a.m., Channel 2: Baltimore at Minnesota (with Greg Gumbel and Dan Dierdorf, instead of Houston-Cincinnati, Cleveland-Pittsburgh or Kansas City-Washington).
== 10 a.m., Channel 11: New York Giants at New Orleans (with Thom Brennaman, Troy Aikman and Pam Oliver, instead of Detroit-Green Bay, Carolina-Tampa Bay or, ahem, St. Louis-Jacksonville ... sorry, Mr. Limbaugh, but that game only goes to 2 percent of the country -- the city of St. Louis. It appears not even Jacksonville has sold this game out to its fans. Ron Pitts and John Lynch are doing the broadcast. There's probably something to made made of the names "pits" and "lynch" in this one, but we won't even try.)
== 1 p.m., Channel 2: Buffalo at New York Jets (with Dick Enberg and Dan Fouts, instead of Tennessee at New England; Fox has Philadelphia-Oakland and Arizona-Seattle in this window as well).
== 5:15 p.m., Channel 4: Chicago at Atlanta (with Al Michaels, Cris Collinsworth and Andrea Kremer).
MONDAY:
== 5:30 p.m., ESPN: Denver at San Diego (with Mike Tirico, Ron Jaworski and Jon Gruden).
Bye week: Dallas, Indianapolis, Miami and San Francisco.
