Who's watching post-season baseball? More than four years ago, so far

TBS reports that Day 1 of its MLB postseason coverage -- a triple-header that involved teams from L.A., New York, Philadelphia and St. Louis -- was the most-watched day in the league division series since 2005, according to Neilsen research.

There was an average of 4.933 million viewers for Wednesday's slate, Turner Sports folk say. The average rating was 3.3, a 14 percent increase over the openers on 2008.
The biggest demographic jumps were in total audience 18 to 34 (up 32 percent) and males 18 to 34 (up 32 percent).

The Dodgers-Cardinals Game 1 NLDS had a 3.3 rating. It was 9.6 rated in the L.A. market and 20.0 in St. Louis.

The New York Yankees' contest against Minnesota, which began at 3 p.m. PDT/6 p.m. EDT/ had a 4.3 rating. There was a 21. rating in Minneapolis/St. Paul and 13.4 rating in New York.

The early contest -- Colorado at Philadelphia -- did a 2.0 rating. It was 15.5 in Philadelphia and 5.9 in Denver.
