Your NFL Week 5 L.A. TV schedule: Sanchez, just miles from a trip to Cuba, will have his name mentioned in Favre-like fashion

It comes with the territory.

You have your game on ESPN, on Monday Night Football, and the world of words comes crashing down on you. You're "Around the Horn" fodder. "Pardon the Interruption" headliner. "Jim Rome is Burning" rantable. Incredible.

Probably good that New York Jets rookie QB Mark Sanchez had a rough outing last week against New Orleans, or the pomp and circumstance coming out of said Swami and others around the Roundtable of Analytic Evil will be nothing but more propaganda intented to elevate this otherwise nothing Week 5 game into an AFC title game preview "for years to come."

We can't let that happen. But we are powerless.

Sanchez, of course, replaced Brett Favre as the Jets' QB this season. So it goes.

If Chris Berman is still focused on Breast Awareness month, and the rest of Miami is focused on a much lower region -- Viagra rescuing their peninsula -- maybe no one will notice that the game's the thing. Mostly, Boomer will note the game is at Land Shark Stadium. In hopes of an endorsement deal and a sleepover with Jimmy Buffet.

Tentatively, this is how the NFL lays out for this weekend (we will update as we go along ... possible change: Fox goes with Atlanta-San Francisco in the 1 p.m. hole, to avoid going up against the Raiders-Giants, both of whom have decent followings in the L.A. market.)

And, unfortunately, Raiders fans get to see their team in action, live, and in all the messy color they choose to swim in (hope your Cable doesn't go nuts on you and cut off the feed):

SUNDAY

== 10 a.m., Channel 2: Oakland at N.Y. Giants (with Greg Gumbel and Dan Dierdorf; CBS takes this one instead of Cincinnati-Baltimore, Pittsburgh-Detroit or Cleveland-Buffalo)

== 10 a.m., Channel 11: Dallas at Kansas City (with Joe Buck and Troy Aikman; Fox takes this one over Washington-Carolina, Minnesota-St. Louis or Tampa Bay-Philadelphia)

== 1 p.m., Channel 2: New England at Denver (with Jim Nantz and Phil Simms; CBS tabs this one instead of Houston-Arizona or Jacksonville-Seattle; Fox also has Atlanta-San Francisco in this window)

== 5:15 p.m., Channel 4: Indianapolis at Tennessee (with Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth)

MONDAY

== 5:30 p.m. ESPN: N.Y. Jets at Miami (with Mike Tirico, Ron Jaworski and Jon Gruden)

Bye week: San Diego, Green Bay, Chicago, New Orleans

I was going to write something pithy about Hacksaw's return, but then I clicked on this entry and completely forgot all about what's-his-name.
