Oak Music Festival held on Father’s Day weekend in Santa Ynez

Spend a day filled with sunshine, laughter, music and community at the Live Oak Music Festival, held Father’s Day weekend, June 13-15. Head to the beautiful Santa Ynez Mountains on Friday, Saturday and Sunday to enjoy live music, fun activities and entertainment for adults and kids of all ages. For those who want to stay awhile, camping passes are available (camping passes often sell out, so pre-purchase is recommended).

Held at the shade-covered Live Oak Camp—a short drive from lodging in Santa Barbara, Santa Ynez and Solvang for the non-camping types—the Father’s Day weekend event offers up a fun-filled, unforgettable experience.

The annual family-friendly event will feature the headlining entertainment of Grammy Award-winning Americana artists Dave Alvin and Phil Alvin with The Guilty Ones Friday 9:00-10:30 p.m.; roots rock, rockabilly, and rhythm and blues artist and songwriter JD McPherson Saturday 8:45-10:15 p.m.; and roots and Americana-based “newgrass,”  Railroad Earth (pictured above, left) Sunday 8:45-10:15 p.m.

With as many as 14 live performances each day, musical acts from an array of genres will perform on three separate stages throughout each day—from 2:00 p.m. to midnight on Friday; 8:00 a.m. to midnight on Saturday; and 8:00 a.m. to 10:15 p.m. on Sunday—providing day-pass guests and campers with every opportunity to dance, clap and sway to the beat. For a complete line up of acts please visit:www.liveoakfest.org/lineup.

Kids will be well entertained with arts and crafts, puppet shows, a talent show and more. For crafty campers of all ages, options include pottery workshops with Anam-Cré Studio, tie-dye, silk painting, hat making, woodcraft, soy candle making and glass painting sessions. Get moving with a spectacular performance and juggling workshop with circus act Something Ridiculous(pictured right) as well as yoga classes, nature hikes and hula hooping.

Day-trippers need not worry about packing food as the food court offers a feast of Greek, Indian, Chinese and Thai cuisine, southern specialties, pizza, vegetarian and vegan dishes, smoothies, coffee, kettle corn, and popsicles, to name a few choices available for purchase.

Day passes are $55 for adults and teens and $20 for children ages 4-12. Adult full-festival three-day passes, which include camping, are $125. Full-festival passes for teens 13-17 years old are $80 and full-festival passes are $40 for children 4-12 years old. Children under four years old are free.
