Pier 39 celebrates Independence Day with fun for the whole family featuring musical entertainment and activities in the Entrance Plaza. From Noon-3 p.m., Mobility from the U.S. Air Force Band of the Golden West performs, followed by Tainted Love from 5-8 p.m. At approximately 9:30 p.m., the City of San Francisco will treat spectators to an elaborate fireworks display over San Francisco Bay. Beginning at 7:30 p.m., the deck of the National Liberty Ship S.S. Jeremiah O’Brien, Pier 45, Fisherman’s Wharf, offers one of the best views on the bay to watch the fireworks. Tickets are $30 adults, $20 seniors (62 and over), and $15 children (6-12 years old) and are available at www.ssjeremiahobrien.org; a $70 ticket option admits two adults and two children.
The City of San Francisco’s Fireworks display will illuminate the offshore skies on the northeast waterfront from Aquatic Park down to Pier 39 beginning at approximately 9:30 p.m. Municipal Pier, located at the foot of Van Ness Avenue will be closed to the public, but there are plenty of free viewing locations along the Waterfront.
