2006 Los Altos football schedule and news ...
Maybe the James Davis transfer doesn't hurt after all. The Conqs got a nice transfer in running back Ira Thomas, who played at Chino Hills last year. And there could be more talent coming + a good frosh class that will be sophs. Some things never change. Perhaps LA needs to be boosted up a bit in my pre-Spring practice rankings. Here's the schedule ... complete with predictions.

Week 0 - South Hills (probable win)
Week 1 - Rosemead (win)
Week 2 - LB Wilson (win)
Week 3 - Damien (toss-up)
Week 4 - St. Francis (probable win)
Week 5 - Western (win)
Week 6 - Diamond Ranch (win)
Week 7 - Charter Oak (loss)
Week 8 - Bonita (win)
Week 9 - Wilson (probable win)
Week 10 - BYE
South Hills will be too young to hang with LA's veteran offense in the first game of the season. There's no reason LA won't be undefeated going into its game against Damien. That one will be tough, though, as will St. Francis. Having a BYE before playoffs should help LA. The Gano Boys are a bit of a mystery team this year, so it's hard to know for sure how they will perform in games against Damien, St. Francis and Wilson. Split the difference and Los Altos should be in the neighborhood of 8-2 going into the postseason.
PROJECTED RECORD: 8-2
MIRAMONTE LEAGUE - Second Place
PLAYOFFS - Semi-tough first round game.

Curses like chickens come home to roost... Garnett
Game one will be tougher for this Los Altos team than many wiil expect...I can gurantee that Rosemead will not go down without a dogfight, especially at home. It would not surprise me one bit to open up the newspaper on Saturday morning and see a W in the win column for Koffler and his young but talented Panthers...
Sounds like a good year for Los Altos. I go with 7-3 with losses to Charter Oak, Damien and maybe their first game against South Hills. I don't think they will have it all together until their second or third game.
