Aram is right about the "Barbone Brothers" I have coached these kids in the past, and they are good young men with alot of talent and heart!

Look what Nico Barbone did last week against South El Monte. 253 yards and he's only in 10th grade. This kid will get better and better!

San Dimas will have to play well to beat Covina, BP and Northview. These teams have play makers and Bonita will always give them a challenge. This is what makes football exciting by having good talented kids on the field!

Good luck gentleman and enjoy your time playing the great game of football!

The days of "soft" San Dimas are over. I was at the Gladstone game Friday. There is no comparison between this years team and the whiners of last year. While Gladstone is obviously not very good, it would not have mattered. SD could have scored 70 if Zernickow had wanted. They may not be huge up front, but they will sure hit you! I'm looking forward to their match up with Bonita.

LOS ALTOS 38, SOUTH HILLS 14 L.A. chronic slow starters, but will awaken in the second half.

BISHOP AMAT 24, ST. PAUL 21 Amat has gaps to fill, but St. Paul is in huge trouble.

CHINO HILLS 34, MISSION VIEJO 24 M.V. will over look the Huskies.

DAMIEN 41, RIVERSIDE POLY 20 Damien scheduled the wrong POLY.

All other games . . . . tell those guys to have fun, and . . . "it's not if you win, it's how you play the game."(Im being sarcastic of course)

Damien should win BIG. QB Mark Mendrun looked good last year and is even better this year having some good hands out there ready to receive the bullets he throws with accuracy. Defense is going to have to step up and prove us all wrong by showing they can play D-fence. Spartans should have a good year.

well, after seeing somemore AMAT practice and also peeking in on a St. Paul practice, i'm going to say this compared to my first vote...

AMAT 35-St. Paul 14
AMAT is ready to bring it...

ps. Congrats to the AMAT freshman team who won late 22-21.

I beg to differ joe:
"San dimas? They only were lucky last year because of the easy schools they had.
Gladstone 35 San Dimas7
Where's BOnita! they were 8-2 last year."

San dimas faced a covina team that could've took it all if not for tesoro. They also played against Northview which featured damian james and will davis who both rushed for over 1k yards. Not to mention that gladstone league opponents are horrible to mediocre at best.... azusa, ganesha, pioneer, workman,la puente, mountainview just to name a few....

Here`s my take:

LA 20 SH 8 Battle of 2nd place teams.
SP 24 BA 8 Revenge angle is huge
Damien 24 RP 16 Aren`t these baseball schools?

First game jitters and lack of preparation will show, Great coaching will make the difference in some of the games, but when you have Bogan vs. Gano or Amat vs. St. Paul (it's who's got the better player). Great games to start-off the season.

Los Altos 24 South Hills 10
Bishop Amat 21 St. Paul 7
Gladstone 17 San Dimas 3
Damien 28 Riverside Poly 7
Chino Hills 24 Mission Viejo 17

Those of you expecting the Walnut-San Gabriel game to be low scoring had better think again. SG can pass all day and Walnut will be able to run on them. Two conflicting styles. This one should see some points put on the board.

La Puente vs. Ontario at Montclair HS

Sept. 1
Los Altos vs. South Hills - LA rolls, sorry Huskies, your time is over...
Bishop Amat at St. Paul - BA still better than them.
Gladstone at San Dimas - SD gets close win, down year for The Rock.
Riverside Poly at Damien - Don't know much about RP but do know Damien should be good. Damien wins.
Chino Hills at Mission Viejo - Mission is still Mission. Mission wins handily.
Diamond Bar at Temescal Canyon - Temescal
Walnut at San Gabriel - Walnut should be fired up.
Beckman vs. Azusa at Citrus Coll. - Azusa.. I think
Workman at Mountain View - The View gets a win.
Diamond Ranch vs. Edison at Ganesha HS- pain involved for the Ranch and this is only the beginning.

The games this week that matter most are Los Altos vs South Hills & Amat vs St. Paul....
Both games will be close as first time starters will have some trouble yet do well.

LA 28 SH 21

St. Paul 24 Amat 21

CONQS in a slugfest.....first game jitters...first game sloppiness....i dont see more than 2 scores by each team.....14-10..... LA

Los Altos 28 South Hills 14 cant stop castenada
Bishop Amat 28 St. Paul 21 amat not even close to being as good as las yr, but will pull it out
Gladstone 21 San Dimas 10 saw g-stone QB and main reciever, look impresive
Riverside Poly 7 Damien 48 mendrun and eschardies will have a stat day fri nite, gonna be a murder
Chino Hills 7 Mission Viejo 35 no matter what chino hills did las yr they still play MV, come on

Boss hit it right on the nose. The Barbone brothers are awesome. SD 20, Gladstone 0

LA 24 SHHS 17
BA 36 St.P 14
LP 7 Ont. 24
GHS 21 S.D. 28
Wal.13 S.G. 6
Mt.V 8 Work 17
Beck 35 Azusa 10

Good luck to all the teams!!!

Not sure about the score, but I hope the Huskies win

los altos 35
south hills 7

SOUTH HILLS HAS ONLY ONE ALL-LEAUGE PLAYER RETURNING AND 3 STARTERS OVER ALL THEY WILL BE LUCKY TO EVEN GET 3 POINTS THE HAVE NOBODY LAMASOL..NOT GOOD PARTHAM..NOT GOOD....DAMON...NOT GOOD....VICTORY LOS ALTOS

"A Fan" San Dimas was 3-7, not sure if that's what you call lucky.

Okay, you've goaded me in to making some legitimate predictions (although I'm sure my paraphrasing of Mr. Lang will indeed prove prescient for more than a few bodies and hearts this weekend). I'll only pick games that matter:

Los Altos 17-South Hills 24
Bishop Amat 31-St. Paul 6
Mission Viejo 34-Chino Hills 17

That's it. The rest of games are meaningless.

Damien 35 Riverside Poly 17

Los Altos 24
South Hills 10

Bishop Amat 17
St. Paul 21

Chino Hills 12
Mission Viejo 36

La Puente 0 Ontario 28
Los Altos 21 South Hills 24
Bishop Amat 24 St. Paul 7
Gladstone 7 San Dimas 28
Walnut 28 San Gabriel 10
Beckman 35 Azusa 7
Workman 17 Mountain View 14 Field goal on last play of the game.

San dimas? They only were lucky last year because of the easy schools they had.
Gladstone 35 San Dimas7
Where's BOnita! they were 8-2 last year.

sh over la 24-14
stp over amat 17-7
sd over glad 14-7
damien over rpoly 28-21
mission over chino 35-24
mountain over workman 21-0
walnut game is a scrimage game
temescal over dbar 28-14
adison over dranch 42-10

LA vs. SH : LA by 2 TDs... unlike Boss, I've -seen- LA's linebackers
Amat vs. St. Paul: Amat by 1 TD
Gladstone vs SD: Ummmm... can I predict a tie?
Riverside Poly vs Damien: Damien by 2-3 TDs
Chino Hills at Mission Viejo: As long as MV loses, I don't care what the score is
Diamond Bar at Temescal Canyon: Don't know much about either program
Walnut at San Gabriel: San Gabriel by 1 TD
Beckman vs. Azusa: Does it matter?
Workman at Mountain View: Ditto:
Diamond Ranch vs. Edison: Edison by as many as they want

Mountain View 7

Workman 6

I have got to give San Gabriel a slight edge over Walnut. Playing at home and making the playoffs last year is more than a Walnut team without Sean Sheller and no playoffs last year.

San Gabriel 13
Walnut 6

LA 24 - SH 20
BA 14 - SP 28
all other games....who cares?

I thought there were more than just Amat fans in the area ... where is everybody else? Azusa? Walnut? The Dimas? G-Stone? DBar? Mountain View? Workman? Where are your scores? How are your teams going to do?

AMAT 28
ST. PAUL 14

Young team is getting better and they will have enough to beat St. Paul. Sr. RB Gasie will lead the young and talented Jr's class for now!

Been on vacation. Looks like I missed a lot. Bishop Amat may struggle this first game, the boys look topped out, but Bishop should still win. Plus they are playing in a hostile environment-St. Paul's at home.

Bishop Amat 20
St. Paul's 8

shhs 22 - los altos 13
bishop amat 12 - st paul 27
diamond ranch 6 - edison 42
gladstone 18 - san dimas 24
walnut 13 - san gabriel 10
workman 23 - mt view 6
damien 17 - riv poly 28

go huskies!!!!
hopefully everyone will get thru week 0 with no injuries.

BA 34 - St. Paul 17
South Hills 35 - LA 14 Unless he can recruit some of Aram's LB picks, you can stick a fork in Gano, he's done!
San Dimas 31 - Gladstone 7 Remember this name: Barbone! These brothers are awesome!
Edison "As much as they want" - Diamond Ranch "none"

James Shabumi - Although you're in the 'Dondo and doing "'Dondo things" you can still post predicted scores of the SGV games. Your one-time residence in the SGV gives you the license to do so. Besides, if you're smart enough to call me on my cell phone and ask "How could you not know the history behind Amat-St. Paul, dude?" ... then you're smart enough to post some picks!

san dimas 21 - galstone 35
bishop amat 49 - st.paul 14
Beckman 42 - Azusa 28
La Puente 7 - Ontario 28
Los Altos 14 - South Hills 38

You want my prediction?? PAIN.

Bishop Amat - 35, St. Paul-14..... I dont know if the swordsmen can stop that deep backfield. Its going to be like "thunder and lightning" this year with Gaisie and Wagner... Watch out St. Paul. Its going to be over before you know what hit you. Love the rivalry game. I have to give a little friendly banter and stir the pot.

Go Lancers!!!....

ok lets see.,

Los Altos 24 - South Hills 14
Bishop Amat 35 - St Paul 17
Edison 42 - Diamond Ranch 21
San Dimas 21 - Gladstone 17

I'll give you one ... Chino Hills 27, Mission Viejo 21 ... the Diablos will never see it coming!!!

dang, here we go...

Los Altos 28-South Hills 21
San Dimas 21-Gladstone 7

and of course...

Bishop Amat 24-St. Paul 21 on a last second 20yd field goal

PLEASED READ: If you post some wacked out score like 100-0, then don't expect it to run. I want honest opinions.

BA 24/7, I think you could be dead on in both games.

Bishop Amat 156 St. Paul 10 haha!
No really... B.A. 31 S.P. 10

Bishop Amat 35 St. Paul 28
Los Altos 27 So Hills 13
