ATTENTION ALL READERS ...
Some of you are close to getting tickets ...

I am aware that some of the threads below have become inundated with negative and controversial comments. I am also aware that this unfortunately often goes with the territory of high school sports. Managing this blog is one of several daily duties I have at the Tribune, and as enjoyable as it is, it's also very time consuming. I need your help in a real simple way - I am asking that all of you use your best discretion when posting and stick to the main rules of this site - no bashing kids or getting too crazy when responding to other posters. You can disagree and voice those disagreements, but please stay tactful. Also, please try to stick to the topic. I am aware that conversations often spawn other conversations, and that's fine. I really don't want to censor this site. It's not my style and I want people to have the freedom to say what they feel while staying anonymous. Just don't abuse that freedom (sound familiar)?

That was last Tuesday, didn't get the memo?
Give the guy a break he has fun, I have fun reading him, and bottom line ...This is a blog.
I made those same remarks to him once and he put it into it's proper perspective for me, he's just having fun. And I respect that honesty.
A point is being made regarding the bickering and personal "asides" parents have had towards each other. On it's face it is humiliating to everyone involved and sets a poor standard for the students who read the BLOG. Remember this blog is unfiltered, for the most part, and PERMANENT! We have all said things in our personal lives,we regretted and are glad there is no recorded record of our comments. Here we don't have that luxury, for better or worse.
Here's a few diplomatic suggestions in dealing with those complainers/malcontents/wannabe coaches/fustrated parents/angry alumni, ect., ect., ect. (you fill in the blank):
1)Be a friend! Tell the person yourself that he's overbearing or annoying. (Most people may be offended but hey at least it will Stop)
2)Ignore his blog messages. Hey opinions are like...ummm...noses..yeah...like ..NOSES , everyone's got one and some are bigger than others.
3)Don't get OFFENDED!!! People love to complain. It happens everywhere-work, home, school, church, Why should this blog be any different? Do you flame THAT person in THAT environment? Probably not.(Although work violence is on the rise)
4) Take things with a grain of salt. Sometimes just when you think someone is complaining or being difficult what they are really doing is communicating poorly.
5)If all else fails (A), feel comfort in your superiority and be glad it's not you everyone thinks is an ..ummmm...nose!
6) If all else fails (B) , and this is the hardest thing to do, I know, DON'T BLOG! It's free! And therefore, you get what you pay for!
To those I have offended in the past, I deeply and sincerely apologize. To those I will offend in the future feel free to use any of my recommendations, I particularly like ....No I won't go there... LOL Peace to ALL and to ALL a good Piece. GOOD NIGHT NOW!!!
When did this become smack off auditions for Jim Rome's "The Jungle" radio show??
Best remedy for all the personal bickering is a Friday Night of GREAT HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL !
I'm sure we can ALL agree on that!
Can this season get better?
Oh yeah! Imagine the playoffs?
Greetings, I'm Mike the clone and you are not!
Just my opinion, I have read this blog since A.T. “The Scribe started it. And I have to tell ya something; some of the whinnie petty nepotism crap that has been going on this year is amazing. You people at Amat, South Hills and Damien need to chill.
This is high school football. These kids are student athletes and students of the game. These kids aren’t some overpaid prima donnas jumping up and down in the end zone after a score saying, “look at me, look at me as they do in the National Felon League while doing some ridiculous dance routine in the end zone.
My god, I bet over half of you have never planted your asses on a dewy wet football field at seven o’clock in the morning. And I bet over half of you have never had some coach blow some air horn in your ear to tell you it’s time to bear crawl a hundred yards. Nah I bet you haven’t.
You wanna- be’s are living your dreams through your kids. You are the ones who couldn’t make your high school football teams so you took up coaching Junior All-American football in hopes of your kid being the next Joe Montana and he had no business playing quarterback. And I bet your the same people who get off yelling at 8 and 9 year olds for making a great stick on some 70 pound weakling playing for Snoop’s all star team..........WHACK! (Yeah that’s what I want, my 9 year old playing football and riding the full on tour coach equipped with full bar to play a pop Warner game.................................errrrrrr I don’t think so.)
I bet you’re also the same people who hang out at star bucks and discuss who just got voted off American Idol. Get a life. It’s about your kids! It’s not like your high school coach doesn’t have your kid’s best interest in hand.
You should all me ashamed of yourselves for this constant bantering back and forth and calling people out. I know I bicker here on this blog about my “Bagpipers but nothing to the extent that some of you do. It's called having a perspective!!! Get It!
You parents have to quit full on body slamming each other. I mean really, has it come to this? Look at yourselves ripping each other a part over what, If Cardinal Roger’s Mafia School, first year coach is valid enough to coach at your catholic school. Give me a frecking break! You maybe be family but who wants to be in your myopic tunnel of love with you bunch of crybabies. And you parents over at Damien and South Hills quit whining about your programs, both are above average.
You should have been at the Duarte game last week. Their bench had what, two kids on the sideline. Those kids were out there banging heads going both ways. You Amat, South Hills and Damien folks should be thankful for what you have. The kids at Duarte aren’t spoiled like some of you. Those kids played with heart and a passion for the game. Sure I’m glad my “Bagpipers won last week but ya know those kids at Duarte have my respect. Not once did they quit!
And stop with the complaints about playing time too. Hey if your kid is going to play at the collegiate level your going to know by his Junior year, unless he is a freak and has a above superior Senior year. I've been to too many Nike camps to hear some stark raving out of control parent put undue pressure on their kids. Gezzzzzz get a life it’s a high school and not the Golden Dome where “Granny Holtz once roamed.
I know of which I speak after spending time in the coaching ranks in the old Pacific and Mission Valley Leagues during the 80’s and early 90’s. Some parents can be over bearing and will just have you shaking your head.
At least I respect Coach P and what he has done for the Glendora program. I may not always agree with some of his moves personnel wise but hey,I know my place, he’s the coach he get’s paid to make those decisions. Better him than me. He and his staff are my guy’s I’m going with them.
Stop being a bunch of “Chris’s sit down and shut up and let your kid play and enjoy for what many of them may well be their last time in pads for the rest of their lives.
It's called perspective!!!! GET IT?
GOOD NIGHT NOW...............I AM OUT!!!!!!!
Oh come on Aram. This place was just starting to feel like the real high school sports bleachers because of all the bickering and second guessing.
Just kidding. Good call, Aram. Keep up the good work!
I agree too many emotional hurt dads feuding about which school is better blabla. It's getting quite old.
I agree get off this web site if you are imature about talking off your mouths on these kids...It's high school football.!! Let them enjoy the season!Iagree with former hs football mom. LEAVE THE SMACK IN YOUR MOUTH AND OFF THIS WEB SITE
It's about time someone said something. How old are you people. Take the time to enjoy going to watch your kids play, because before you know it they are 18 and in college, playing or not it will never be the same as a pop warner game on sunday or a high school game on friday night. You will miss it I guarentee. And remember it's a game, not life, so lets get our priorities straight.
Thank you Aram
Now let's get back to FOOTBALL!!!!!!!
Good Luck Charter Oak..
