West Covina vs Rancho Cucamonga- Bluorca despite Amat missng their Tailback & being young on defense they still might beat anyone in the SGV, I think Rancho C. staying within 10 on Amat
is almost similar to Westco's staying within 18 of Mater Dei so I think both teams are close, also I got a feeling that with all the D1 talent they have the further Rancho goes into the season the better they will be, lets hope the same is true for West Co, I'll go with West
Co by 7 to 10 points.
Damien vs Charter Oak- I think Damien is like a powder keg that can blow anytime, one week they do & the next week they don't [although I think the Los Altos "D" cooridinator had a lot to do with them not blowing this past week], I think Mendrum & Co will have a big game this week, Damien by 17.
Los Altos vs St. Francis- Tough one to pick
both are Quality teams, Los Altos might be the top team in the SGV, [time will tell], but I believe St Francis is in the top 3 in the Western division [I'll have to verify] which is the old D3 I'll go with Los Altos in a close one, I'll say by 3.

Charter Oak will lick their wounds from the big Glendora game and come out strong against Damien. I don't think Damien defense can manage the CO huge o-line as Glendora's tough defense did. Another close game for CO, but this time I think they will get the W.

West Covina will beat Rancho Cucamonga by 14 and ST Frances vs LA will be very close decided by 2 points...St Frances gets the W

Yo jenny craig, do you really think EM is gonna be within 25 points of B.P. not a chance. B.P. will roll by at least 35. EM barely beat SV, and B.P. could've hit 100 points "LITERALLY" against
S.V..Like someone else said, there lucky coach Heggins has a heart and hes a class act.

West Covina/Rancho Cucamonga
I believe that IF an Amat team that was missing their starting RB/DB, having an extremely young defense, and breaking in a new coach can beat Rancho Cucamonga then a fully healthy WC should have no trouble in taking care of the Cougars. I honestly think RC is an overrated team even though they have talent at the WR positions. I pick WC over RC 40-21.

Los Altos/St. Francis
Hard to pick a winner here. St. Francis is an overall better team than Damien. But I think St. Francis had a better overall team last year as well. I think the game will be close and mostly decided on how well St. Francis prepares for this game. We all know that this game is HUGE for Los Altos but is St. Francis taking this game just as seriously? I dont know why this is but Parochial schools have the tendency to underestimate their opponents that they are not too familiar with. Los Altos will be St. Francis first true opponent this year. I have a feeling that Los Altos is going to give St. Francis more of a game than they will be prepared for. Even so, I'm picking St. Francis over LA 28-21.

Damien/Charter Oak
I have this feeling that Damien is going to rout CO even with the return of CO's MJ. Its hard for me to imagine Mendrun and co. having 2 bad games in a row. Is Charter Oak just as strong as Los Altos this year? Will Damien do better than Glendora did againts CO? I dont know but these are gonna be some AWESOME games! I'm picking Damien over CO 28-7.

Good luck and good health to all players playing this week!

Baldwin Park vs. El Monte-- El Monte is showing signs of life. However, this observer doesn't think this will be much of a game. BP has played their first 3 games on the road. This is the home opener and the place will be jumpin. I pick BP by 25+. Where is the Aaron harris over under this week? I will set the number at 195. I will take the over on this one. Good luck Braves!!!

Seems us folks in the heights are really starting to feel something brewing here in the heights with this Los Altos team. I was one that thought they would not beat Damien, but was so glad to see that they did, so no way am i picking against them this week. They just have this refuse to die attitude. What a bunch a great kids. And is it me, or the last great LA quarterback to come thru LA a lil undersized as well (Felipe Aguilar) and all he did was win valley player of the year his senior year. Keep it up guys, we wanna be playing into early december.
lastly, glad to see Northview made the trip to a spotlighted games of the week. How are things going over there, if anyone out here knows, dont see much regarding them. If anyone knows anything, do share. I understand Northview has one of our old los altos coaches (dont know why you'd leave LA) but from what ive heard, he left to coach with one of his childhood friends, so all the luck to him and that program.

St. Francis vs. Los Altos looks to be THE game for pure football drama. Two powerhouse football programs going head to head. This should be very interesting and it could just as easily be a lopsided blowout for either team! My gut tells me St. Francis romps but my heart tells me LA's going to give them hell! LA 35-28/ St. Francis 42-17 Drama ...can you feel it!

Damien vs. Charter Oak- this one is easy, Damien continues it's teter-toter season and wins easily. 49-14 !(W-L-W-L) Mendrun & Co. too tough and skilled to be held down two weeks in a row. Can't see Damien losing at Home after beating them last year. THE PIT RISES! Although CO was tough against Glendora (saw that game) secondary was suspect.

West Co. vs. Rancho Cucamonga- let's see if the effects of a tough preseason catches up with West Co. Heard Rancho has 3 Div I receivers? Is that true? Could be high scoring (Running vs. Passing) I'll put my money on running the ball, it wears two way players down and makes the offense "sit and wait" which disrupts rythum. West Co. blows up! Runs wild if RBs are healthy 35-10. If Rancho gets hot at home and receivers "put on a show" like they should Rancho 49-21.

EL Rancho's Head Coach Willie Reyna making a homecoming appearance at Bergstrom Friday to play his Alma Mater, The Arroyo Knights, is not good enough for a 2 minute drill??? I know both teams are winless but these are still 2 very proud football schools that come together and bang heads for one night only, once a year, and you cant talk about that for two minutes? C' mon...
