The Weekly Aaron Harris Game ... Week 2

You know it's coming, but can you stop it?

This week's OVER/UNDER is: 90 1/2 yards
This week's opponent: West Covina

"UNDER" 230 was your winner last week. Maybe I was a little high in that number, but hey. Only three people said under last week. I'm sure many more will side with "the low" this week. Anyway, West Covina held Mater Dei running back Ahmed Mokhtar to 99 yards. That should make the Bulldogs a lock to keep Mr. Harris under 91, right?

SEASON RESULTS
Week 1: 133 yards vs. Azusa UNDER

Comments

Aaron Harris is the real deal, he looked good last night & Baldwin Park is gonna win some games
this year. William Wallace is right there with him, take away the West co penaltys and he has a huge night.

under....I think they will have his number..

Here's the scoop and let's see what Mr. Tolegian says about it ...

WEST COVINA - If your defense is a good as you say, then, the first guy should hold up Harris and the second should hit him with clean but hard shots! Harris does not run hard when people hit him hard. No offense to anyone but he tends to run hard when he plays teams like Azusa, Sierra Vista, Mountain View, Pomona & Ganesha. Look at his stats from the last 2 years against the weaker teams (teams listed above) vs. the harder hitting teams (Rosemead, Northview, Covina, even San Dimas)!

BALDWIN PARK/AARON HARRIS - Believe me that Harris has some extraordinary talent but he is no where near as hard a runner as Phillips nor does he like to gain the tough yards when "the pressure is on" like the article from earlier this week states.

Maybe a great game tonight will prove this coach wrong but watch how many of his yards come in pressure situations and how he reacts to getting hit hard.

Bullseye, was the best take I have seen so far. How will you sleep when some foolish kids hurts him and says just wanted to make sure you got the under! Exageration of course! I hope it doesn't happen. these are kids! Love the articles and the coverage of high school sports that you give us but this is too far!

I set a good number. I'm moving to Vegas.

Hurts to say this but I say over cause he will get the ball 25+ times, but I think it will be close, West co's "D" is tough but with that many carries and his type of talent the odds are in his favor.

over by alot
west co is over rated

well let me put it like this im a coach at a local school inthe area and ive seen harris on tape and in passing league. Even thought we do not play BP. i have played running back on the D1 level and honestly he has the talent to be a D1 back size speed moves and a lil bit of a "give me the damn ball" in him. He would be all world if he ran behind say a Line for Charter Oak or L.A. but due to B.P. he works alot harder than most backs do..i see him gaining 135yds+ if they set west co. up and let him hit the big play when its the right time... good luck Harris...

That's a great take, SGV Athlete. You're right. I couldn't put my finger on it, but that's exactly what Field and Rosenthal do - they read and react really well. I thought they played great games against Mater Dei. They flew up and made a lot of tackles.

UNDER, and let me tell you why....five words: Nick Field and Shaun Rosenthal. These two kids know how to read and hit. The only way Aaron Harris gets and OVER is if BP gives him the ball 35-40+ times. Don't get me wrong, Harris is good, but West Covina's defense will be ready for him. Look how they were able to stay in the game vs. Mater Dei. I played vs. Mater Dei before and they know how to run the ball, and run it well.

The Pick: West Covina by two touchdowns and Aaron Harris with 78 yds.

I thought the yardage was 230. If it is 91 yards, I say he will get the over. BP will give him over 30 carries.

So let me get this right. Back in 91, when Lawrence didnt rush for over 100 yds against Rowland H.S., he wasnt the real deal, right?
He wasn't that good. All you morons that haven't seen Aaron play or have seen him play, understand the kid is for real. This guy can go to any other school in the valley and be a standout. That to me makes for a pretty damn good back!!!!!!!!And all u guys that say he's not that good, would be the first ones pumping him up if he was on your team. nice job...

under. West Co defense is tough.

Aram, I'm not saying he doesnt have the potential to be a D1 kid. I'm just saying based of watching him play and the schools they've played against im not impressed. Going to the playoffs for the first time in years shouldn't be someting you brag about... especially when losing in the first round. Bp will fall off the map as soon as hes gone.

I believe there are around 25 schools who think he's a D-1 kid. Aaron Harris is the last guy who should take any heat ... who do you think is putting BP back on the map?

If he is really a d1 recruit he should get 100. If he doesn't, then he really is not as good as people say. Division 1 backs should always get at least 100 even when playing a good team.

FORGOT .....MY PREDICTION IS........UNDER 90 1/2YRD.!!!!!

Arron Who?..like the last person said ,last year covina shut him down ,what 77 yds and the playoffs against tesoro, not a factor . all you have to do his hit him hard and he will fold like a piece of paper. covina shut him down and in the third qtr was fakeing an injury and wanted out of the game.he may be fast but thats it.not tough at all.in my opinion he is over rated! I know what happened last year with covina and BP I was there, and know what I saw.

west co well shut down bp and harris and thats a fact jack.

Do you really think hes legit? I mean BP hasn't exactly played top notch schools unless you count covina's D last year and look what happened then...

under, but not by much...
90yds and 1 td

over.....hey cw how do you figure its creating problems at bp? how close to the program are you? i am really close to the program and i havent heard a thing. i would be interested in your "inside" source

Over
I say 115 2td's.

over... unlike last time where he was taken out early as a result of a blowout, hes gonna have to play the whole game. i say 100+ yds and at least 1 td.

ps good job on the site Aram, wished this was up earlier.

CW,

You're starting to bug me. I spoke to Coach Heggins yesterday and he has no problems with The Weekly Aaron Harris Game. I am not taking it down and it's going to continue weekly until BP isn't playing anymore. I don't care if it gets one person or 500 guessing OVER or UNDER on the projected number. If people don't like it, like yourself, they don't have to participate. Aaron Harris is one of the top players in the area and this is massive exposure for him, not that he really needs it, and it's fun.

Again, this is not fair to Aaron or the BP football team. Kids read this stuff and this is contributing to the me me me stuff and not to the team as a whole. I wish you would stop this topic. It is causing friction.

Over. Let me tell you why
Because they are playing West Covina
