Blu and Mikey-

Hope you show at the BLOGGERS PIZZA BLAST ! Talked to Reg and he thought it was a go , just needed a time. He's pretty cool. Got me a copy of Chino Hills vs. Damien.

Mikey and Blu-

and chance you guys are buying hotdogs at Damien's next playoff game! Love to pick your brains @ the game! See everyone's already more civil!

Go Bloggers, thanks Aram!

At this time, it's imperative that I remain anonymous for reasons pertaining to National Security. That's the beauty of a sports blog. Unfortunately, I must have my Pizza Blast delivered...

Pizza Blast!

All you have to do is name a date & time and I'm there.

BLOGGERS PIZZA BLAST!!!!

How about it BluORCA, Bleeder, MATMTWTBAG, Joe Amat, Mike, Plaid Man, Big DADDY, Richard, Randy, CheckingIn,AHS, SpartanFan, Damien4Life,Don, Jim Garrison, Betty B, Kit(from) Carson, joe, Tommy T.,Vanner,FANactic, jeffrulerson, sgvguru,SaintB, Ant17,74-Colt Alumni, ect?

You guys in ?

"The Wolverines better be ready for the callaber of talent that Harris and the boys will throw at them."

I thought this was pretty funny. I don't know if you know this Jenny Craig but BP is the underdog in this contest. You can bet your churros that Westlake will be ready for Harris & Co. I think BP is going to get spanked and spanked bad by Harvard Westlake. This is not a personal slam...just my humble opinion because this Westlake team is a damn good one. Prediction...HW 42, BP 10

Damien Dad, Bluorca,

D.D. give me knee surgery over shoulder surgery anytime I hear those shoulder jobs are brutal. Good luck again and hope you guys have a hell of a game.

Bluorca well buddy, I guess it's time to step up huh? Hey think about us will ya tomorrow night! I know your a wanna be "bagpiper" I'll even let you be a honorary one tomorrow ok bud. It's got to be hard for you hard core Amat "honks" sitting this stuff out.

Dude I' still cracking up from when you set yourself on fire.

Okay guys I'm down to the basement to recharge.

Out!

Mike the Clone

Mikey-

Been down that ACL road myself. Both knees and one shoulder. 7 major sugeries all 5 with Dr. Gambardella at Kerlan Jobe. So brother I feel your pain!

I must admit sometimes you must piss the parents at Glendora off but God knows what Ruedaflores would do with the size of Damien's linemen-Massive! As you know he's a monster line and LB coach. JV team has size and speed, freshmen has size and speed. What we need are retired former old school coaches not wet behind the ears rookies like we have now at Damien's lower levels.

QB, safety and then Strong Guard (dating myself). Been out here four years now and still don't fit in or understand the politics of athletics out here. Piss poor coaching, old boys network, who you know politics and "annointed" starters rule the day.

Coach a travel basketball team out in La Verne and wow the politics involved and the stroking some parents require is baffling. You're right what's going to happen to them when they get to high school? When we came out he my brother said, "In Whittier the kids "cheat" to get an advantage but out here the parents "cheat" to get an advantage!" *By "cheat" I mean do whatever it takes to get ahead of the other guy.

That's probably why every team out here in SGV cannabalizes each other. Damien's just plays teams from the Valley with the exception of St. John Bosco who has no business in that division anymore than does Bishop Amat. Here it's just friends playing friends and neighbor playing neighbor and no one's feelings get hurt.

At Salesian we played powerhouse schools twice and three times our size from Sherman Oaks Notre Dame to Verbum Dei, Orange County Mater Dei and Encino Crespi. People complain about going out to Redland to play? Hell we always traveled just to play league! We had no home field!

Went to a basketball game this summer and Damien's front line was 6'5, 6'4, 6'3 point guard was 6'1 and they were playing a La Puente basketball team who had a 5'10 225 center and he was La Puente's tallest player. Talk about challenging yourself! See Villa from South El Monte last year in the All Star basketball game @ Amat? 6'4" 250 center and ALL League Football tackle. Fouled out in 12 minutes -of an All Star game! When my son was a freshmen we played in the Colony summer league with 60, yes 60! basketball players on the sidelines! What a joke!

I must admit something. I used to think Pasquerrella was a great coach and have said so on many occassions but after seeing this year play out at Damien I have to change my mind. What happens with Morrison and Pasquerella and Dunn is they convince the parents, the players and themselves that their kids aren't as good as they are when the truth is they don't surround themselves with great asssistant coaches top to bottom. And therefore never really develop a program. Ask anyone who went to Bishop Amat or St. Paul about great coaching staffs. What was Richie Valenzuela 5'7" 170 wet when St. Paul almost beat that great Loyola in the Final in '77.

Why don't you come to the PIZZA BLAST and bring blu and Bleeder and all the Amat faithful! It was my idea and what are you really worried about some punk ass jackass that doesn't know shit from shineola coming to the party putting us in our "football" place? Yeah RIGHT! Told parent this year his son wuld play WSLB when he moved up to varsity, Oh No he's a MLB! Where is he at now ?WSLB. Trust me I never worry when it comes to worrying about this or that when it comes to football!

Did I miss something or is Baldwin Park in the Playoffs? Let's not forget the Braves v. Harvard Westlake. The Wolverines better be ready for the callaber of talent that Harris and the boys will throw at them. I hope the Brave boys are getting fired up at the fact that noboday is talking about them. Go Braves!! Prove the Valley wrong and march right through the Wolverines on Friday!

Go Braves

Ya see Clone?

You share a little personal info and you are attacked for your views...I too would stay away from Pizza Blast! hahahaa! Unless of course, my camo suit that I borrowed from The Predator is back from the shop on time. We can take turns using it. You can go first, infiltrate Pizza Blast, bring back a slice with extra cheese with minimal casualties. Then we will switch gear and it will be my turn to compromise the high tech security defenses of Pizza Blast. I will not lie to you. Not everyone is going to make it. If you lack the stomach then I urge you to go AWOL now! But what we lack in firepower we make up with discipline, heart, and a shoulder mounted auto-targeting laser cannon. TIME TO EAT!!!!

P.S. After we are done blasting Pizza Blast, we attack Oak's Christian! If they refuse to join a better league and a better division...They Will Be No More!!! muuuuaaahahahahahaaa!

what happen to all the bloggers??????
GO WEST COVINA BULLDOGS.......

Wow, Mike the clone....You named the coach from Hart and Mission Viejo as being better football coaches....Wow, it must be really tough to coach such great talent...both those teams always get division-1 talent..How can they be better coaches then Pasquerella?every year they should win titles with that talent...Not that they actually do this though....

Pasquerella si a rgeat coach and u r the only one who thinks otherwise...Aram and every other person seems to think he's a great coach...Oh, let's not listen to Aram..He's only the prep sports expert....We have to listen to the "Clone"...He's the smart one...

Damien Dad,

Hey good luck to you guys also. I expect a win from you.

With out given my anonymity away, let’s just say where I played it was rainy and cold a majority of the time. We played on the old artificial turf, with lost of forearm burns.

In high school started out as a defensive lineman and later on moved to the linebacker spot in college because basically I just didn’t have the size for line play at D1 level. Torn an ACL and I mean literally ripped it apart my junior year in week 8 and just never came back from it. Back in those days I knew everybody at the Kerlan - Jobe Clinic

There are two reasons for leaving the coaching ranks. I found that the intensity that I carried as a competitor on the field was not translating into what I was expecting from the kids I was coaching. Now-a-days I’d probably get sued. I’m old school. I was and still am a student of the game. I was never a head coach although at one time that was my goal. Yes I still have a passion to teach kid's about the game I love and I get the opportunity sometimes to share and teach some of what I learned with some of these kids like I did over this past summer

I played for two very intense coaches that instilled in me never to underestimate my own ability and the ability of others. Also believe in yourself, do not accept failure, failure is a weakness that can be over come through hard work and dedication to the task at hand and lastly surround yourself with the best people you can possibly surround yourself with, because they are a reflection of you.

I left coaching to enter the entrepreneurial world with a partner. And I must admit that we are pretty damn good at what we do.

The coaches will be the key… preparedness and adjustments. Crook will be a factor but he has been on target recently considering he took over full time in week 6. The last four games we just haven’t hung onto the ball. No matter who is at QB if you can’t catch the ball your screwed. If we can get the run game and the pass game in sync we should roll in the first round.

Paul Lopez the A.D. was the head coach before “Coach P I understand, don’t know the record when he was at the helm that was before my time here at Glendora.

Would love to go to the pizza blast but the climate nowadays with the “button wearer’s and myself the wife say’s I can’t go anywhere near it. Although would have loved to sit around and talk football with some of you guys.

Thank God Aram has giving me this forum otherwise I would become unbearable at home!

Out!

Mike the Clone

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!!!! JUST ONE MORE DAY TO SEE THE COLTS IN ACTION!!

like i said

RAAAAISE YOUR HANDS...

LET ME HEAR YOU STOMP YOUR FEET!

ROW-LAND RAI-DERS CANT BE BEAT!

We own Redlands with a 9-0 record against them. Playoffs we beat them in '98 and got to the Semi-finals. We beat them in 2002 42-35 great OT game (Wing T was great that year). Beat them in 2004 34-16. Redlands is a great place to go watch Football. Nice Stadium. They moved down from Div. 1 so they should be division wise where they should have been all along. I think they may have too much for Glendora.

Hey Mike, I'm just curious.

Good luck this Friday with your "bagpipers" Give Coach P a little credit. What was Glendora's 4 year record before Coach P arrived?

Also been dying to know where you played your college and high school football. Were you a HS and college lineman? And where did you coach. All things considered you're pretty knowledgeable/connected with football, why did you retire?

Seen Glendora against Chino and if the players play like they did THAT night instead of the way they played against Damien then all bets are off and Glendora rolls.

I see the game hinging on the arm of Crook and not the coaches or defense. Sorry to say it but Crook's the key. Edmonds is ..well Edmonds! He's your everything! And always comes to play.

Anyway , you coming to the BLOGGERS PIZZA BLAST?

Let's make a deal. Whoever loses first in the playoffs goes to the other's game and buys hotdogs! Deal?

Those of you counting out the Huskies a word of caution. Beware! Theres a lot of fight left in those dawgs. This one will come back and Bite Canyon in the Asstrabula.

Go #45 This is what you were born to do

Wow,

That's amazing,You are correct he probably could have stayed for a little longer than he did, I should not have said run out of town. It was more like a silent "What have you done for me lately" kind of thing if you know what I mean. That was towards the end of the Temple City hard core football boosters era.

I knew him when we both coached here in the SGV years ago.

Interesting!

Let me tell all of you something, Division I coaches prayed they got Citrus Belt teams in the first round of the playoffs - 1st, 2nd or 3rd place, no matter. Not always, but for the past 10 years or so.

HaHA! Jim Walker HATES Amat with a passion. He as well as those before him never beat us. His teams were knocked out of the playoffs in 95,98, and 2002 by you know who.

Mike the Clone,

Yes, it's the same Jim Walker. No, they didn't run him out of town. I believe he was well-liked at TC and could've stayed as long as he wanted. He's just the classic Marty Schottenheimer type. He wins, but not as much as he should. He gets in big games, but doesn't win them. On the surface, people will look at his record and say "He wins everywhere he goes." His won W-L Pct. is probably pretty good, but is there anybody out there beside me who sees the negative value of a 10-1 record? Or 9-2?

Hey A.T.

Is that the same Jim Walker who had a stint at Temple City back in those days, You mentioned T.C.and if it is they ran him out of town.......and I guess way out of town.

Is that the same guy?

If it is wow!

Out!

Mike the Clone

Mike the Clone,

If you think Coach Pasquarella is like Marty Schottenheimer, wait until you see Jim Walker at Redlands. Anybody who disagrees can simply reference Temple City's 1990 loss to San Marino, Temple City's 1990 loss to Arroyo Grande and Redlands' 1994 (could've been '93 or '95) loss to Bishop Amat.

Greetings!

I am Mike the Clone and you are Not!

With That Said:

Aram and Reg great job you guys for teaming up throughout the season with the 2-minute drills. Really enjoyed them and your takes on the other teams around the SGV.

Some people think I was going to come in here blasting away at what you guys have said. But frankly you guys have nailed it. I have some guy’s for which I used to play my college ball with that just so happen to be coaching at some I.E. schools. After doing some homework and talking to these guy’s I have to say that I do like my “bagpipers’ chances this week. I really do.

BUT, and here is the BUT… it all depends if “Coach P Schottenheimer has done his homework and has the kids prepared.

Coach Pasquarella as mentioned beforehand not only by myself and other knowledgeable “bagpiper honks in some of these threads reveal his weaknesses year in and year out. He maybe “smart at playing chess Reg, but he is a just an average football coach. (Reg I used the "Chess" reference figuratively)

The “skilled and great coaches around the Southern Section are guys like the Herrington’s of Hart, Bob Johnson of Mission Viejo those types of guys to mention a few.

I believe “Pasqie could be there but some of the stuff he does just has you shaking your head. I will say this again personally I like the guy but in my “Opinion and everyone has one don’t they? he is just a average good coach, right up there with Marty Schottenheimer’s and the Bobby Cox’s of the world. His football philosophy has a lot to be desired. I really think he has the knowledge somewhere because he show’s signs of brilliance at times. I hope they get past the first round, but the “Pasqie one and done legacy precedes him.

Again for some of you “button wearer’s who come in blasting me, I have a problem with his football philosophy not Coach Pasquarella as a person. I hate being redundant but some of you just don’t get it. I’m attacking his football sense not his common sense so stop whining and give me a frecking break.

But anyways, I fully expect him to have these kid’s ready to play. From the kid’s I have talked too they are just really “psyched up about their chance. It’s contagious I’m excited about our chances too. Now the drive out there…eeeeeerrrrrrrr that’s another story.

Aram great take on the division situations out in the I.E. most of my buddies would agree with you. You have done your homework.

So in closing, Aram and Reg thanks for the 2 minute drills ALL through the year. It’s nice to hear your takes on some of the other teams I don’t get to see.

Especially thanks to you Aram, you gave us all a voice to agree and disagree and to take some “shots, “blasts and at times go “Chernobyl on each other in here. Come to think of it there is only one guy in here that I wouldn’t sit down and slug some beers down with.(And NO button wearer's it not Coach P)I truly hope the “suits recognize all the hard work you put in A.T., I know the “Clone has had a blast talking about a sport that I love …football.

I hope my “bagpipers can get to the next round, God knows the kid’s deserve it, win or lose I love this group of kids! So go for it you guys be disciplined, concentrate, and execute.

Go Bagpipers!

Out!

Rowland Players.....

Whoever is reading this Blog, please pass this on to your Teammates.

Boys, it doesn't get any better then this....an opportunity to play in CIF isn't always guaranteed in High School Sports so you really need to get excited about this opportunity.

This starts with quality, enthusiastic practices and when Friday rolls around, you go up to each Teammate at School or in passing...and ask them "Are you ready for tonight?". Make each other believe that he can be better then they could ever imagine.

Los Altos is a rich Football Program that has plenty of tradition. Yes, they have had players go to college and the NFL. So there is history with this school.....but that was then and this is now. All year, people have talked about Rowland and although may have not gotten the respect you hoped for, you now have an opportunity to show what the Raiders are made of.

There will always be memories of the last ten games, but now it's time to envision yourself contributing more then what you did in the past. The rest of the week pump each other up and enjoy yourselves.

Opportunities like this don't happen all the time...so have fun!!

The best of Luck to the Raiders!!

Van Earl wishes you the best and play with your hearts. I'm Out!

Aram is brutally honest on this one, if anyone hears this and isnt fired up your in the wrong sport, hopefully Los Altos heard the call to arms, this is not the week to be partying or screwing with the girls.

Hopefully for all my friends in the heights they are keeping it straight and following in the great tradition of the previous winning teams. If last two games any indication of where they are now thev'e got thier MOJO working, just in time to put rowland back to where they belong. Dont forget last years div I winner was a 6-4 LOYOLA team

Los Altos 35 Rowland 0

Aram,

I liked the intensity of the audio breakdowns man. You don't have to be on SGV staff to know that this has been a breakthough year for you, Mr. Robledo, and all the behind the scenes people involved with the Preps Sports section. Like I've said before..."its about freakin time.." It's obvious you love your job and that is a great fortune for your readers...Keep up the good work dude...

i love how everyone just counts the falcon out. my little brother was on the 2001 duarte football team they played south torrence. Chuncey washington was there running back. he was great in the first half, but the second half was a different story. duarte won that game. hopefully we can win this game.

Los Altos 17 Rowland 13

Enjoyed the 2 minute drill on the Charter Oak - La Mirada game. But we already knew everything you were telling us. Charter Oak has a great passing game and Michael Johnson's skills make for exciting plays. The O-line will step it up this week and show everyone what they are capable of.

I'll be working the ticket booth this Friday so stop by and say hello.

CO You Know!!

Aram,
As usual have have done a good job with 2 Minute Drill. Thanks for giving props to the Colts Defense. They are a tough bunch! I agree with you on your assement of the game. The Colts create matchup problems with a lot of teams. Coach T will have them ready. Keep up the good work Bro!! You are doing a Great Job!!

Los Altos -vs- Rowland
A great match up! with alot at stake for both programs. I've watched the huskies play both teams and will give the edge to Los Altos. I expected a better fight from Rowland against W.C., hopefully that loss will fire up those Raiders. To Rowland players and fans this is the statement game you've been waiting for. So step up and show us all you are at the next level! Go Raiders!

South Hills -vs- Canyon
This Huskies squad has had a ton of bad luck losses this year and are way way better than their record indicates. The Huskies know what to do in CIF and will be ready for a stunning victory against Canyon. Huskies as underdogs= SCARY!

West Covina -vs- Mayfair
The bottom line in this game is, repeat your performance against Rowland along with the rabid fans and you make it to round two! I have seen W.C. as underdogs and like the Huskies really scary!

uh oh Mike the clone this should be interesting what do you have to say about the two minute drills with Rge and Aram.

GLENDORA/REDLANDS INTERNET BROADCAST FRIDAY!!!

The Terriers have the luxury of having all of their games broadcasted live via internet...you can listen live to this weeks playoff game here.....

http://secure.stretchinternet.com/demo/games.php?user=rhs&o=cal_stamp

Your welcome! =)

RAAAAISE YOUR HANDS..

LETS HEAR YOU STOMP YOUR FEET.

ROW-LAND RAI-DERS CAN'T BE BEAT.

oh yeah.

WHO'S UP?!

HEIGHTS UP!

[I mean Rowland, Los Altos ;)]

Yeah, A.T. freakied me out a little today.... I think the spirit of all the playoff bound coaches possesed him for 2 minutes at a time. Trust me we both want our area teams to do well. I noticed I didn't directly say that that I like Glendora over Redlands as a possibility. Another league champion in Redlands, another target for the Tartans to aim for, this time in the CIF Playoffs! Pasquarella as a great chess player was my of saying he and his staff will figure out the Terriers. Good Luck GLENDORA.
-Big Reg

WHAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOO
cya friday
GO RAIDERS BOI!

aram!
I was so excited when i listened to the 2 Minute Drill Glendora vs. Redlands!
I appreciate your enthusiam for our team and our boys here in Glendora.
The team has a lot of heart and determination this year and I think we can pull off the win!
Good Luck Everyone on Friday!

Covina over Nordhoff: 24-14, Colts will work the kids from Ojai over, McDonough will have a better game on D than with the ball

Los Altos over Rowland: Gano and the playoffs, Los Altos by two touchdowns

Canyon over S Hills: Too much offense for the up and down Huskies, Canyon by 21

Redlands over Glendora: Mike the field, gonna be some crackin' and whackin' in this one, Redlands by a touchdown

La Canada over Duarte: Duarte has the best chance to win a playoff game for the Montview League since 2001 when they beat S Torrance, LC is a one trick pony but oh what a trick. Petersen rolls up 150 yards and three TD's, La Canada by 14

Charter Oak over La Mirada: They say the hardest thing to do is beat a team twice in the same season. 20-3 CO, again

Damien over Carter: The Spartans are rolling and Carter is in the way, 35-10 Damien

By the way, the Duarte/La Canada run is pretty intense too. So is Glendora vs. Redlands.

Yeah, Reg was pretty blown away while we were recording. He's done TV shows with me before and a bunch of 2-minute drills, but he's never seen me like this. Whatever. It's the playoffs and there's a lot at stake in the Southwest Division.

Aram -

That Rowland v. Los Altos 2 minutes was HUUUUUGE!! You are fired up....I had this Knute Rockne...Rowland locker room vision going on! If that doesn't fire those boys up I don't know what will. That was beautiful!

Aram,

Dude that was intense i couldnt say it better on the rowland los altos game ,what a pregame speech you should be a coach even i am ready to kickass, that pump me up see you friday go raiders.

great stuff aram im anxious to see how well that nordoff team is gonna be against covina and all its weapons

THIS IS WHAT I THINK,FOR ALL IT'S WORTH.......

DAMIEN ...WIN
WEST COVINA ..LOSE
SOUTH HILLS... LOSE
GLENDORA...LOSE
COVINA..WIN
LOS ALTOS..WIN
ROWLAND..LOSE
CHARTER OAK...WIN

nice stuff aram...WHOAOO cant wait till firday to see this Los Altos and Rowland game..
