Yup Justin's the man! Just like Jon Joe he's started on Varsity all four years. Is being recruited by UCLA as a receiver after only 2 years of playing football. Averaged a TD every 2 catches and is generally considered one of the purest athletes in the SGV.
Riley is a great, great talent and a super individual from a great family. Hope he shines all year long and earns CIF honors...he's that good if he wants it! Same with Griffin ..they are "self made" men of great desire and talent. Couldn't happen to nicer guys. Griff might be the purest shooter in the Sierra league and that's a credit to his work ethic! But THEY earned everthing they got and were never "passed" along.
Riley and Joe are both great talents but like I said before Joe's been there done that and Justin's on the cusp ready to be really special. Last year was Justin's first time as a starter. Imagime that! No disrespect intended just comparing two great team players is all. Jon Joe and Justin Riley are a matchup made in heaven. Pay to see them pay one on one...best out of three!
No need to haha...I once heard this from an older wiser gentleman..."Don't laugh ...your ignorance may be showing." That seems appropriate.

Yes..Joe's good
but I'd have to say Justin is the mmaaann haha..
Justin had 8 blocks..
and yes Damien does have a point guard but he's still developing..and he's only a sophomore

What did I tell you...isn't Jon Joe tough! I hear you about Justin and Jon on the same team ..that will happen at ALL Valley ALL Star games at season's end...but that's way early...wonder what both would do with a good point guard? both really need to understand their value to their teams and dominate more during the game...jon's a total team player and looks to get everyone involved but can take over any game at will...riley on the other hand needs to step up and be a leader to the younger players. both players could be players of the year if they decide to let their talent shine...until next time

Well Justin Proved himself
but damn Jon Joe is pretty good...
Imagine these two on a team?!?!?1

Friday matchup!
Damien's Justin Riley vs. San Dimas' Jon Joe That should be worth the price of admission alone. Would love to see one on one game to 15. Best out of five, wins! Any thoughts.
Both great individuals, both can jump out the gym. But I think Jon Joe's been getting it done since freshmen year and Riley had to bide his time until his legs caught up to his body!
Hope they put on a show tonight!

Tartans looked solid against a completely outmatched Du-rock. Too bad we didn't get their best, but good luck to the football team this weekend. Jury is still out, but in this "tune-up" they showed what they needed. Great scoring from Dom & Kyle and solid play by the "new" supporting cast. Better gage against Norco Sat. night in Riverside.

Well Damien has just destroyed Wilson so i think they have some moving up to do =]

If it was weak, you wouldn't have responded.
Let me know when you tire of these butt-kickings. I may be merciful.

Raaaaaandeeeeee!
Boy, I told you not to talk like that to adults. You are grounded. You aren't going to the Back Street Boy's reunion concert next weekend.
I told you never to talk about doing moms. Everyone here will find out about our secret....SHHHHHH!!!!!

Tough Luck for Los Altos. They have to play 4 of the top 10 teams twice (DR, CO, SH and Wilson). And that's not including Bonita who probaly should be in top ten instead of Wilson. Good Luck LA!

we'll see about that, who by the way is your team? its only nov, i'll admit talk is cheap, and we got a long way to go, but it's nice start on top (like how i do your mom).
i have thought about throwing a few gay joke comebacks at you, but you seem to be the child here, i'm not even gonna go there. i'm surprised aram let your comments onto the blog.

Your pointless diatribe does not change the fact that Diamond Ranch High is in Pomona.
That was the only point.
So now you are going to quote unnamed coaches to back your point? Who cares? The DB element is worthless.
DB high will get swept by Glendora, Chino Hills and Damien.
D Ranch will win the Miramonte League and lose the first round of CIF to a low seeded team.
Then you can go back to flipping burgers or selling Slurpees and let the adults talk sports from now on.
Randy is a queer name.

AND, you weasel, i'll go so far as to say if they didn't have that DB element, then they would be just notch above Garey and Ganesha. D RANCH has a damn good mix, demographically speaking of student-athletes....and they are able to reel in studs from throughout the PUSD to bolster their sports programs. In exchange, those kids get a chance to maybe get alittle bit more on the academic side, if they apply themselves. Its a win for both sides, I know this for a fact, as i have spoken to several coaches up there about this. That school is going to become a powerhouse, its got the tools, and its on its way!

half those kids from the north side of diamond bar, if YOU knew what your were talking about then you woulda known that simple fact....
Posted by: Randy | November 23, 2006 5:56 PM
Someone explain to Randy that Diamond Ranch is in Pomona...not Diamond Bar.
Who's the mofo now?

Basketball's here!!!! Great to finally see Jon Joe play his senior year and show why he's the best all around basketball player in the Valley.
Anyone see Bonita's vasity during their tournament? Fun "team" to watch. Unselfish, disciplined, big shot makers, quick guards and run their offense with efficient precision. Good luck to Christian, Gar, Sam and the gang! They always come to play and are always entertaining. No Brock but that young head coach is on to something. They play every minute and have great chemistry on the floor.

just remember that in football damien started the year off that low in the pre season polls and look at them now. like coach morrison, coach dunn is in his 4th year at damien and we are looking to mirror football's results too. brand new gym, even more intensity, and just wait for those rowdy football players to come back up their team in the pit repaying the bball team and all its efforts this year during the football season GO D HIGH!
Posted by: D HIGH! | November 21, 2006 10:12 PM
Is it too early to start talking about sierra league mvp, i think a darkhourse to win it,wasnt even mentioned in ur preview and his name is Corey Yates, hes a jr pg at damien and this kid is awesome he has handles and hops.

glendora's not paying off anyone.
Im so excited for the Tartans basketball program this year.
Dom and Kyle are both amazing athletes as well as the rest of the team.
I can feel a CIF title this year!!!!
Dom, our prayers are with you.
GO TARTANS!

Hey there's room for both here. It's pre-season hype time for roundball and still playoff time for that funny lookin' thing. Congrats to GHS for making the playoffs, would have been great to see them go one more week. The good news is they get Blayney, Beckwith & Chekerian back in practice just in time to get the team tight and off to a good start. Really sorry to hear about Mrs. Tiger passing away, what a shock. Dominic, our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.
Aram, you nailed it. This team should re-load and be as good, if not better than last year. Whether they go as far in CIF, we'll see. Should be a great season.

Good change of pace. Glendora has a great program. Tiger and Kyle should lead the team to a CIF Title this year. Glendora is the bench mark in the area for basketball!!!
Posted by: BIG DADDY | November 21, 2006 4:08 PM
maybe glendora is paying someone to give exposer, football is still the main topic around here and seeing that glendora is (ONE AND DONE)finished, they are still looking for ....whatever..
Posted by: who pays who? | November 21, 2006 4:05 PM
...and we were talking football in August when school hadn't started yet. 1st basketball game is within week and more schools will be playing hoops than playing football!
