POSTGAME: Talk your smack or cry me a river ...
DON'T DOUBT THE SGV!!!

... FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO MISSED MY COLUMN IN FRIDAY'S TRIBUNE ... here's an important excerpt ...
"The Good: Some might call the Valley's underdog status in the Southwest Division a bad thing. I call it good.
I know, it's hard to understand. The schools that have provided the Valley a CIF title every season this decade are taking a back seat to two Orange County leagues and one from the 562 area code.
Nobody around these parts is saying the prowess established by the Century, Sea View or Suburban leagues this season isn't warranted.
It's just that I'm adding up the recent CIF titles won in the division, and it's hard to understand why anybody would take the Miramonte or San Antonio leagues lightly.
CIF clearly did. There's five leagues in the division, yet the top four seeds went to three league champs and one second place team.
This slight has created a dangerous backdraft situation for the rest of the division. It makes teams like Charter Oak, Los Altos, South Hills and West Covina feel like massive underdogs.
It makes coaches like Lou Farrar, Greg Gano, Steve Bogan and Mike Maggiore feel like they have something to prove. Who wants to be the favorite if it means these guys are the underdog?
Hopefully, the Valley can prove people wrong either by producing a stunning upset or making a run at the title. "
West Covina 19, Mayfair 16 (uh oh, down goes the No. 1 seed)
South Hills 21, Canyon 14 (Bogan an underdog? Please ...)
Los Altos 35, Rowland 17 (Tradition)
Duarte 37, La Canada 7 (supposedly I give Duarte no respect ...)
Charter Oak 24, La Mirada 21
Redlands 40, Glendora 21

Great to see we have Fontana Kaiser coaches on the blog. Your observations are on point. How did you stop the option. What is your base defense?
I know Fontana featured a running option attack back in the day and still do at the Pop Warner level. Some people run a 50 and some run a 4-4 stack to counter the 3 options but others use an unbalanced 50. Which do you prefer and why?
I am glad to see that MOST families are on good terms, and can just focus on the fun of the game and celebrate our sons succes. Mr corona i would like to thank you for being the bigger man in this situation..The real men are the ones who can apologize, sincerely when they have made a mistake, and i thank you for that.
To "THE MAN". i have to say that most of your observations were on point. I have to disagree with you on your anaylis on the QB position. Fucsh will probably be the starter senior year.
To "Football Parent". Though your opinions were not sugar coated i have to agree that you were right on all points.
Many commenters have only took the time to anaylize the playmaker positions.Im glad to see that somone else noticed the talent of the D-Line.
I was a coach at Kaiser High School, in Fontana for 6 years, and have to say that this is one of the "better" D-lines i have seen. Jason, Riaz, Obie Okafor, Austin Williams, and Jake Salter, are excelent toghether when all in at the same. They penetrated, stopped the run, and are the main reason for the defensive shutouts.Jason is quick of the ball and is able to "muscle" with the offensive tackles. Okafor and Salter are big bodies, that clog holes and pass rush. Williams is quick if the ball and fires out. However, he is shorter than your average D tackle, but makes up for it by letting his presence be know, against his opponent.
The center, and left Tackle have great technique, and flex there strength aagainst their opponent.
I also agree about the RB/FB position. Williams and Jake Vieth are gonna be dinomite. Once these two learn to play with each other, and get the fell for each others style, their gunna be Jordan, amd Pippen, on the feild.
I look forward to next season, and your thought on the blog
Aram what gives?
Mr. Corona did not write the last 3 blogs messages about the JV team. This is my second attempt to clarify this! What gives Aram?
Why was thew last one ERASED after it was on this thread.
Someone is still playing games. Please stop.
Mr. Corona did not write those 3 blogs.
football parent-
damien dad wanna be-

Once again it seems that people love to play games even when it's kids involved. 14/15/16 year old kids.
I WROTE NONE OF THESE LAST 3 IDENTICAL BLOG MESSAGES. I WAS GETTING ZACH TESTED AT CHINO HILLS AT THE TIME FROM 5 TO 6.
THAT LAST COMMENT ABOUT SILVA AND ADAM CYCHNER "BEING SOFT" WAS NOT WRIITEN BY ME AND WAS WRITTEN WITH THE INTENT TO PISS PEOPLE OFF AND GET THE BS GOING AGAIN.
THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE.
Football parent-
Maybe you find it humorous to destroy people. But you are a low life and a coward.
Love your link---ToPlayorNot. I won't. You are sick!
Maybe Aram can tell everyone who you really are. Every blog message leaves an identifier to your computer and your blog screen name does nothing to hide who you are. The email address you imput is not your identifier., your computer is.
Two families made peace like adults and a bunch of other snakes never came forward to work things out. Keep hiding roaches never like the light. How can one school produce so many.
I would like to make further refrence to the debate over the positions of the jv 2006 team.
As far as running backs i fell that a great opportunite was wasted. Austin Williams, and Jake Veith should have been the running back combo this past season. Austins ability to get off the ball and get blocks past the line of scrimmage, and Jakes ability to cut back would have been phenominal if combined. Jake is quick, smart and executes his cut back lanes. Williams is extremely quick for his size, and once he loses some baby fat, he will be unstoppable. These to backs, are going to be STUDS and as far as damiens "running game" they are the future.
Linebackers-
Briton Williams, and Gus Flores, both will develop into good backers. They have good coverage instinct and have ability to shut down the run
Recievers-
Eric bento and Herrara, are going to be a great reciever combo. It didnt help for Bento to have a quarter back that couldnt throw past 30 yards. Bento shows great speed quickness, and is able to break down on his routes.
Quarter backs- ummmmmm. The ducks were ok during freshman season, but now its time to play with big boys.Kenny is a great kid,but wont have much sucess at the varsity level. Fukes needs to work on being patient, but will develop.
D-Line
Probably One of the best combination i have seen at the jv level. The front three line man are STUDS. Jake Salter, Austin Williams, and Obie Okafor, dominated toward the beginnig of the season. Then one of the lineman started playing both ways,so they were at times broken up, but when all three of them were together, they dominated.Obie and Jake have great size, and the ability to rush the pass and clog the whole. What Austin lacks in size, he makes up for in quickness, and toughness. Jason riaz and Nick Sale, both have great pass rushing skills
O-Line- Brian Martinez, and Chase Sipple are dominating. they both have great size, run blocking, pass blocking, and awarness. Adam , and Aj Silva, both have great size...,but seem to be a little soft at heart.

The MAN-
As far as referencing the defense. That won't be necessary. You've already stroked the right egos.
Mission Accomplished. Hope they fell better.
Not at all. They are your honest opinions I'm sure. Is "cultivating it to the max" PC for poor or inadequate coaching? Seeing as you might have brushed ever so lightly on the lack of position coaches for 2 years. Is "Adequate" or "Any" a concealed cutdown?
Just made the point about killing the messenger and not the message. Your references were very laser on, or spotlight on, whichever fits. The "make up" call is what it is. No need to wonder.
Sideline observer...are your references to me in the least badly concealed cutdowns? Just wondering...
But hey I wasn't sugarcoating it..I truly belive we have some great talent on the JV team...we just havent cultivated it to the max yet.
Meet Carter/Miller's mom tonight at the Damien Gym. As we were discussing her OLA experiences and her son's playing soccer or football. The damnest thing happened. She mentioned how her son DeAndre told her of a Dad that wrote a "5 page" paper slammingall the kids on the JV team and what positions they should play. She also mentioned how her son came into the information.( won't EVEN go there) Our conversation was "school gossip" and "Did I hear?" parent stuff. You know between concerned parents.
Funny but when I told her I wrote it she froze. I asked her if she read the "5 page", it gets better, letter I NOW wrote to Coach Morrison she said NO. She hadn't just heard from her son who heard from another player (again won't EVEN go there). I encouraged her to read it. I'll give her a copy myself tomorrow. And I re read what I wrote again. There was nothing wrong with what I wrote about the JV on THIS thread. Nothing!
Just like "THE Man" who also gave a detailed analysis of the JV squad. Like Herrera not being a RB or that he can't find a hole (ouch). Or that players that were really WRs and DBs were playing out of position at the RB position (ouch), Or that the O-line was inconsistent(ouch). Or that we've had no line coach or QB coach(Ouch). Or that the WRs dropped too many balls(ouch0.Yet no one slammed him or second guess his stretching analysis. Imagine if I wrote that...oh yeah I already did. Except the praise went to others but that was a good "make up" call by THE MAN and seeing as we're in basketball season it's appropriate.
Guess it was his delivery or that it was laden with praise, go figure. Well by the time this runs it's course it'll be a "novel" that I wrote to CIF and that I plotted to steal everyone's dog.
When I asked her son if he'd read The Now "5 page paper" he said no as well. Just told by a JV player (again won't EVEN go there). I told him I agreed with his mom and Grandfather that he should play RB and that Austin should be the FB. Something even DeAndre would agree with and hoped for. Nothing more about him. I could have mentioned how I wrote when I saw him with the varsity he looked faster and had great wheels but why kill a myth. Monsters are good to teach kids to be afraid of the boogey man.
My luck stumbled into that.

Yes, sideline observer I did make some observations but I have decided not to do the defense. I think I'll let the kids be as they are for once since a couple of parents comepltely dissected it before.
I will say this on the Wrs, too many dropped balls. I think the class of 09 will be fine by their senior or junior year. Eric Bento has alot of speed...better than decent hands..and he goes fater the ball..he's a solid reciever. Taylor Herrera , who played varsity this year, has magnificient hands and AGREAT speed, vert jump. We've got another Eschardies in him. Maxwell is also a good reciever. But, they have had some formal training freshman year. Coach Farraar, brother of Ryan (06), played Defensive back at LSU and I remeber him breaking down routes and such with them. So atleast they had a somewhat stable first year.
The Man, you make some great observations about the Damien jv team. Especially about Kenny Serafinco being a great quarterback, Fuches lacking velocity, Jake Vieth having amazing quicknees and enough mass yet the other running backs lacking size and playing out of position, Talmo having 4.8 40 speed ,and STUD Chase Sippell having 50 pancakes in a 10 game season! Wow that's quite the analysis.
You also allude to the lack of any QB coach for 2 years. The lack of any offensive line coach for 2 years. The lack of a any running back coach for 2 years. I noticed in your critique of the offense you forgot the WR position. They also have had no formal WR coach for 2 years.
I look forward to your critique of the jv defense.
M/M Williams and family;
Your husband was very gracious last night. I am glad that everything is under the bridge and everyone can move forward and enjoy our children's efforts.
I will say as a cautionary note for future misunderstandings to ANY parents that may feel slighted in the future. Pick up a phone. Drop a note with your children. Get in touch. Talk it out.
But it always makes that difficult when people chose to remain anonymous even after they cause innocent people harm.
Even today after all the hurt feelings there are still bloggers representing themselves as Damien fans with the anonymous comments trying to pick a fight. Even today! What can you do but ignore them.
It was funny when Eddie Gomez asked me , "How is it that doesn't Zachary know anything about this?" I told him because Zach's a nice kid and none of his friends told him. And that's a credit to Zach and his friends. And I'd like to thank them all. Good luck this year and thank you once again for clearing things up quick.
M/M Corona and family:
Thank you! This is all water under the bridge as far as I am concerned. We look forward to the next 2 1/2 years sharing our boys successes with each other and watching them turn into wonderful, God loving men! Frank, I especially thank you for apology to Mike last night and your words to Brit were very nice and lifted his spirit. What Brit tells me of Zach (sorry I can't place him) is that he considers Zach a friend and a real nice guy. That is teen speak for "you are raising a fine young man that is well liked amoungst his peers". Of course, I am not surprised by this. I think all Damien parents put their best efforts into their boys.
To everone else, Damien is a family that we all are proud to be associated with. Therefore, everyone needs to be mindful of airing our "dirty laundry" in a public forum like this and the image we present to the rest of the community. Let's keep things civil please and respect eachother, and everyones sons and daughters, too!
With all this debate on Jv football team, I would like to reply. I think that this class is well off. Not only do they have talent, like the classes before them, but they also are a tenacious bunch. First of all, Kenny Serafinko is a great QB. He has stepped up this year and provided leadership for our team. Although he does have occasional lapses where his accuracy or arm may be off, you must remeber we haven't had a QB coach for two years. Kenny is great at the option, isn't afraid to take a hit, and can dish out punish ment of his own. Fuches joined the team half way through the season and he is also a good quaterback as well. He has a slightly higher accuracy but it seems he doesnt put enough zip on the ball. He also has great mobility in the pocket and can run for the first down.
RB: We've tried alot of runningbacks this season and we've had one..or two glaring problems with them. Late in the season we had a problem with the backs hitting the holes and taking a 3 yard gain whereas they would try to bounce to the outside which was not open. We also had a problem with lack of size. Our runningbacks were often not backs but other positions such as DBs, or WRs. Our best runningback however was Jake Vieth. Jake has amazing quickness which is second to none and great field-vision, finding an open hole even if it is on the backside of the play. Jake has enough mass and strength to run over opponents and open his own holes. I would prefer Jake to be our permanent runningback but he is also the best DB we have and he is needed there aswell..
TEs: We have two good Tight ends this year. Although he wasnt passed to very much Talmo is a good TE. He can block, he has a 4.8 40 speed, and he has size. Morgan Evans also has size though not the speed of Talmo. He makes this up with his great hands which drop few passes.
The Line: The main problem with our line this year has been consistant. Either thel ine provides good pass protection and horrible run blocking or vice versa. However, the line is young and inexperienced because they have not had a true line coach for two years (other than Coach Eric, who had to split his time with the LB's and Defense) The line does have some good members on it though. The whole line seems to be a smart unit as a whole and excellent at recognizing blitzes and defensive schemes but sometimes fails to execute their game plan or play upoon the defense. The center, Brian Martinez, is very good and he is tencious despite NG's often outsizing him. MArtinez is tough, after tearing ligaments in his knee..he playedtwo weeks later. Martinez also snaps the ball very well and has a good quickness with his step. Thel ine also has a STUD at Left Tackle. Chase Sippel has the good size, quickness and speed, the technique (though he needs some individual coaching, which bubba will take care of), the smarts, and the hardworking demeanor (he would run downfield to pick up blocks in the secondary) that a great lineman posseses. Kenny has said several times, and Fuchs would agree, that he feels 100% safe from his blindside in pass plays. And to top all this off he finished the JV season with an astounding 50 pancake blocks...FIFTY!
I'll talk about the defense later because I am tired of typing.

Lets GO Damien!
Wow, can we all just enjoy some football now?
4:04 pm, 3&1/2 hrs till game time Good Luck Damien parents & hope you can put this all behind you tonight, Good luck to all the SGV teams, bring your best game, & play like there is no tomorrow.
is this game on radio or the internet? the covina/st. joe game that is.
To the Damien Dads that find it acceptable to ridicule my son Zachary I have one question. Are you happy now?
I read the comments about Zachary and never said a word. I was the one who asked Frank to help coach even though he said it was a mistake. I asked Frank to email Coach Morrison. It is a decision I regret every day. Frank coached for 20 years and comes from a family of football coaches. I just don't understand how it came to this! Wasn't there one Damien dad that could have spoken to me or may husband in person if there was a problem? I've seen Damien dads ask Frank for advice and thank him for helping their son. I know Frank asked his brothers and Sergio to help some of the Damien players. And they did. They always came because Frank has been a loyal friend and a great father. Too bad Damien parents only know my husband from this blog. Zachary is a wonderful son. I am proud that he has a gentle soul and loves his friends. I am proud of all his efforts. Maybe football isn't for Zachary, he worries too much that he will hurt someone and probably played because he thought his dad wanted him too even though my husband couldn't care less. None of our sons prior to Zachary has ever played tackle football. He won't let Matthew play football because Matthew suffered two concussions in the 8th grade. So Frank does not live through his children. Frank struggles to walk after seven knee surgeries and requires two total knee replacements. His right shoulder is a mess and scarred from surgeries. That's why he retired from coaching. It hurts him to run but he coaches my son's basketball team because he loves his son Nicholas. How he runs on those things is beyond me. I know it kills him to run but Frank tells me when he can't walk he'll stop. Maybe that's why Zachary is afraid to hurt someone because he sees his father struggle with knee and shoulder pain everyday. Zachary told me that at least in wrestling it's a fair fight and everyone weighs the same.
I admire the Williams for coming forward and apologize for the hurt feelings. I'm glad Frank apologized as well. Frank has strong opinions and is at times over the top but he always means well. His history of helping people goes back a long way. But Frank can lose his temper. Frank can come across as an intimidating man because of his size and those stupid dark glasses he alway wears. He says it's a coaching habit but he will listen and is not afraid to admit when he is wrong. He also can be as gentle and caring as Zachary. Frank is a strong and caring father who maybe got caught up in something he couldn't handle and figure out. Maybe the other parents will do the same and come forward and accept responsibility for their comments and apologize to my son Zachary here on this blog.
Just for the extra information I am not B. Williams father, just another concerned parent.I have also never said anything toward you, your son or your family until this situation arose. I also apologize to you on my behavior but i was just concerned and upset that my son what brought into this.
Mr.& Mrs Williams,
I sincerely apologize for any comments that I made to offend you and your family. I also must admit this blog has gotten the best of me and I have behaved poorly. The information I recieved was as I have stated. Apparently it was incorrect. I take you at your word. I hope that this matter can end today. Once again my sincerest apologies to you and your family for any embarassment I may have caused.
To Briton Williams,
I went to the Alumni football game yesterday and was told by more than one player that you brought a printout to the locker room and told everyone I said bad things about the players. I don't believe the comments were negative in any way but that is not irrelavent to the matter at hand. I remembered your dad telling parents at a varsity practice, after the Chino Hills game, about your mother blogging and writing to Chino Hills that it was "Poetic Justice" and the wheels started to turn.
A season of bickering with Damien parents on this public blog does not excuse my behavior. I thank you for your kind words and graciousness regarding my son, both are sincerely appreciated.
Like I explained to your parents I behaved poorly with the information I had. Good luck in your Damien career and know that my comparison to Troy were sincere prior to this nonsense. Best wishes and stay healthy.
BW's Mom,
Please contact me personally via email at aram.tolegian@sgvn.com
Thank you,

Takes No Crap Dad/Takes Know Crap Dad:
Evidently Mr. Corona is giving credit to may husband(B. Williams'dad)for your comments. In response, Mr. Corona has made slanderous/defaming statements against my husband, myself, and my son. Will you please let him know you are a different parent and not B's dad! We would all appreciate that. Thank you! We'll then see how soon we get a public apology from Mr. Corona.
Mr. Corona:
How did my husband, son and I get dragged into this? Supposedly I have rolling eyes? Yea, when? I am very proud of my husband, my son, my daughter and their accomplishments. My hubby did not play PAC-10 football. He did play PAC-8 Football though. Notice how he lets the coaches coach. He helps out by doing the chains and the scoreboard during JV games. He knows how to keep his mouth shut. Evidently something you have a problem doing. My husband DOES NOT BLOG! Matter of fact, he's pretty computer illiterate! Ask him, he'll tell you. I don't blog - this is my first. I personally think it's a stupid thing to do. And since you attacked my son and husband and made an "ass" of yourself for your assumptions, damn right I'm going to respond. Our lives are very busy and we don't have the time to bash you and yours as you evidently do to bash my family on this site. Your writings were brought to my attention by other parents - no one else. We have done nothing to you to be dragged into this! I have greeted you at every game with a smile and a wave and now you throw this bs at my family? My hubby doesn't even know you by name - only by sight. I'll have to point you out to him. You owe me, my son, and my husband an apology, sir! I will expect it next time I see you!
And one little other note for you, sir. I cry everytime I see my boy play knowing that God made him healthy enough and gave him the love of the game! His spirit and drive is what made him beat his cancer "death sentence" fourteen years ago. Yes, sir, he beat a inoperable malignant tumor wrapped around his aeorta - poor histology dx at 3mos old. Won't live for his first Birthday -that's what we heard from his Doctors. Would you call this effort overrated, too? The fact he can step onto a field and play football also overrated? My son has a dream to follow his father's footsteps - tell me how that is wrong?
wow this is funny how all you guys get so into this. but really mr. corona i havent posted anything and just watched to see what you guys have to say so dont say that i am saying things about you and zach because i havent and to prove that look at my name im not hiding. and as far as the whole blog thing it was brought to my attention i didnt find it. as for the papers who saw them were the players on the jv team it had nuthing to do with varsity. some of the jv players asked me to print them out because they were the ones who wanted to see what you said.
as for my dad helping yea he tried to help the linemen. yea he did im not saying he didnt, but he only went there maybe 2 or 3 times for about 10 min. my dad played college football who wouldnt be proud. i am proud of him as zach is proud of you.
i dont kno whare you get the idea that i said i was going to come out strong against you because i never said that but ohh well i dont care what you have to say about me. as for you comparing me to troy palomalou i took that as a complement because he is someone that i think is a great player and i think you for that. i never once said a bad word about zach and if so tell me whare i did. i think zach is a great guy and i wish that he would come out next year for football and im sure the whole team would agree football is a sport and when you play sports you should always have fun. as for zach wrestling i wish him the best of luck and for a great year.
anyone who makes fun of him you should be mad at but make sure you kno who it is first because it wasnt me.
as for me going against varsity and all the other players who got brought up were not going to have success against biger and stronger guys right away as you have seen there have been times where i blow through right away and coach bubba gets on the linemen and there are times where i get my ass kicked i kno it but its only going to teach my what to do differnt next time.
i wish the best luck to you and zach and have no grudge against you or your son. i will admit you have done things for the program to help travis and luiten. but when you tell some people that should be playing a differnt position then they feel like they didnt do a good job so thats why they should switch. anyways best of luck to all the teams today and GO DAMIEN.

DAMIEN LOSES TO TEMESCAL!!!!
END OF ALL YOU IDIOT BLOGGERS
STOP YOUR SOAP OPERA CRYING!!!
IT's TIRED!!
Haven't even finished my turkey! Man that was quick !!! And I have NO LIFE ...you responded in record time! LOL
Is TakesNoCrap Dad the same as TakesKNOWCrap Dad? How stupid are you that you don't "KNOW/NO" how to spell your own made-up "just for me" ID? Stay away from firearms sir and stand down! Living in the past? One word "Jeter!" Ouch!Getting personal about the boy's manhood...wow! That was funny! Being an EXPERT in wrestling by season's end. Wait does your son wrestle too?
As far as mentioning "YOUR SON" and making it personal TO YOU!, that's what this is all about! And how the bad blood got started...when someone started bringing my son into it 3 months ago. DOESN'T FEEL GOOD DOES IT!
How credible are some of the Damien attackers when I've blogged for months under various names and most of you agreed with me and talked about this and that and asked questions and accepted my pats on the back. As soon as I started with "Damien Dad" again all hell breaks loose.
Do yourself a favor DON"T EVER ADMIT WHO YOU ARE YOU'LL BE MADE FUN OF AS WELL. GOD KNOWS THERE'S ENOUGHN MATERIAL TO COVER THE STATUTE OF LIBERTY!
As far as my boys enjoying their HS life, couldn't be better. Matt's leaving for visits to Michigan, Cornell, Colgate, Gonzaga and one "special" East coast heavyweight in particular. Denistry I think? Who knows with kids as long as they're happy. Blogging doesn't affect them and neither do phantom bloggers with no names who slam me or Zach. Thanks for asking. Ask around about your son,by the way, you'll be a little surprised how popular HE really is. Think "me" on this blog only it's "HIM". Stings don't it? Worse because it's true!
How's the turkey? Stay away from the "stuffing" big man I think you're full of it already!
Dude, it's old! You had your say I had mine. Just call me and let's come to some understanding...better yet ...DON'T!
Before I eat my turkey and thank God for all my blessings (and they are many) I thought it was time to settle this once and for all.
Let's make a Deal! Here goes:
If Travis E. or his parents say I bug. I'll leave the school's affairs to my wife and kids.
If Justin Luiten or his parents say I bug. I'll leave the school's affairs to my wife and kids.
If Taylor Herrera or his parents say I bug. I'll leave the school's affairs to my wife and kids.
I'll shut up and leave the blog for good. That's the deal. I'll STOP going to any Damien football games or practices until I hear differently.
And silence won't cut it this time. I know most parents read the blog and someone will get "news" of this deal to them all. Any one, just ONE, of these players or parents say differently or that my efforts were not welcomed and I'm out!
I'll put myself out there and see if any of these people, who I respect a great deal, feel the same way as the Damien parent bloogers represent EVERY parent and player feels.
Pretty simple really. I will not attend another game or sit on the Damien side again until I hear from them either on the blog, by phone or in person.
Sometimes "not knowing" is worse than "knowing" who your friends are and who is not.
Either way I won't be offended by their honesty or candor. Maybe I'll go see my brothers coach at Salesian in the second round vs. Marantha or see the "polliseed gang" play seeing that I missed them the first time they played against Damien.
Best of luck vs. TC and Corona Centennial.
I'm out! Until further instructions.
I thinks its time you get on with your own life but i can see that all the time you've spent on this blog..shows you don't have a life. YOU SHOULD QUIT LIVING IN THE PAST. && let your son enjoy his time in highschool. Also, I dont blame you if your protecting your son...i would too. But when you mention my sons name your getting personal with me...so SHUT UP && quit acting like idiot. Im sure when your sons done with wrestling this year you'll be an EXPERT on wrestling too. By the way..Happy Thanksgiving Jerk.
Just so you know:
Here's a tip. ( Too bad several players mentioned and called to say you brought in a blog print out of my messages to show the team (before the game!) and they also told me you were going to come strong at me on the blog. Try coming strong on the field instead of standing flat footed and avoiding contact. (Look at practice film from Tuesday or any game since freshmen year. You rarely "come to the fight, your first instinct is backwards or sideways..film doesn't lie) Maybe the Palomalou/Gootergood comparison wasn't a lofty enough comparison for you to feel warm and cozy. Here's a better one, seeing as you love commenting on Zach's ability -you're over rated! I'll check back next year and if it's changed I'll be the first to congratulate you on your success.
As far as adding my two cents wasn't that your Dad at mid-season last year teaching the linemen how to get in a 3 point stance..in week 6 or 7? Right.. they needed "help" because they didn't have coaches who played PAC 10 or had "USC Jeter scars to prove it!" how tired is THAT story that EVERY Freshmen parent he corraled last year heard 3x at least!...even your mom rolls her eyes - she's heard THAT story so often,or was it that "he" didn't respect Coach Thompson either,( but I do remeber seeing a parent hurdle the track fence after a game and yell at Thompson because HIS son wasn't playing enough or the parent who showed Coach Thompson "pictures" that proved his son was a better blocker than Martinez and this year tells EVERYONE that when HIS son played center Damien's offense did not give up a sack) or when another dad went on the field to teach kids how to punt or kick off, or another dad who volunteered to teach the QBs how to throw because we haven't had a QB coach on Freshmen and JV for 2 years, wish he stayed on the whole season maybe Kenny would have developed better, opps there's that word again...my bad! Were THEY( those specific parents) overbearing or over reaching as well..seeing as there WERE paid Damien coaches on the field at the time! Oh yeah it WAS during practice!
Instead of walking into the locker room with a print out of the blog maybe you can let the Varsity players concentrate on the game. Instead of talking about how much you hate people maybe you can re-read the blog message and see that most of all the messages were to praise players, slam parents who slam my son and to tell them to stop using him as a battering ram to quiet me. If I disagree with the lower level coaches so what? Have you read THIS blog? How many players or coaches are discussed openly from other schools, or even here from Damien parents as well.
Never slammed the JV players effort, just the personnel decisions by the coaches regarding positions or the lame practice format. Hell I've seen Coach Pucci run patterns and throw passes at practice with 90 available freshmen standing around looking on. Ask Trainer Lou, we couldn't believe it! Remember Pucci...look the ball in! And on your throw...follow thru! Now that's a joke. Talk about living in the past! What was the Freshmen record this year? Not better than Coach Thompson's! they did NOT score in 3 straight games! That's NOT a slam on the players so don't go there, even they were stunned. 'nuff said.
As far as being a coward and telling any parent to their face how I feel about them when they slam Zach or any other contentious issue, please, I checked there isn't a checkIN, TakesKnowCrap Dad,QuickFixerUpper, I8DD, or and other "blog name" familiar to me from the roster or that I've meet at Damien and I double DD checked. So that makes it tough to have a simple face to face to settle our differences like mature adults. Guess you won't come to the PIZZA BLAST! I already said NO HATERS JUST FOOTBALL!!! Still an Open Invitation
As far as Zach he's wrestling this year. I don't know a Damn thing about wrestling and hear that Coach Lucero is a great coach and a big fan of the Damien basketball and Football programs, so there Zach's out of football. Again HIS choice.
Read my next blog message ...You'll love it! Randy that was clutch thanks. More details on the Pizza thing later...working on a sponsor!
Damien Dad:
I heard your opinion now YOU hear mine. You come near my kid and tell him what position he should and shouldn't play is none of your business. I will oversee what my son does not you, you need to take care of your own son and spend more time working with him. You see all of us up in the stands but this is the first ive heard from you so it must be that your a coward who has to put your words on a blog rather than coming face-to-face. In order to make your son tougher and to play better it would take a man to do so and after hearing you I can see why he's lacking that.
Parents can be the greatest source of laughter. Especially when they think they have all the answers to a sport they themselves can’t play. Parents all along this country continue to show there stupidity by getting involved in something they are not apart of, resulting in making themselves look as stupid as they sound. Unfortunately, this kind of behavior still lurks in the very traditional, Damien High School. Now I know this isn’t the only place you can find this behavior but it is the only place you can find a particular parent that never knows when to be quiet (especially when he can easily see that the people he’s talking to are trying to ignore him).
This guy prides himself on giving insight and advice when no one is listening to him. Now its fine to give your insight every so often, but his constant and repeated arguments just make him annoying and obnoxious to every other parent. And no I am not exaggerating about this man. Absolutely every parent seems to have an inside joke regarding what this man says or does. Even the people who pretend to like and respect him look seem to have fun at his expense. You would think he would eventually get the idea that he should keep his ideas to himself or just go in a corner and ramble on thinking someone was listening. Think about it; let’s designate the sand pit behind the south scoreboard as his venting area and maybe he’ll feel as if he’s doing something productive.
Now I see this very same man’s ideas translated in writing over these blogs and I hate to say, but he is still not popular with anyone. Reading about how he loves to take interest in players he doesn’t know and help them out is getting very old, very fast. Don’t try and be a Good Samaritan to anybody. It is not your responsibility to help anyone else. And then you talk about the development of Damien’s players and how your son is the center of scrutiny. Guess what, maybe if you didn’t spend your time talking about what’s wrong and what’s right with Damien’s program you’d have time to apply your own advice to helping your son become a better player since you say everyone thinks he’s horrible. I find it hard to believe that since you know so much about high school football, your son doesn’t grasp those same ideas and performs at a high level in practice and on the field.
Then you go about singling out particular junior varsity players who were brought up to varsity. You took the time analyze why they are not playing the right positions and how they won’t succeed on varsity, while your son is apparently watching the game from the crowd. Maybe if you didn’t work with another player for free over the summer, we’d be talking about how good your son performs. If you were to ask those junior varsity players about being on varsity, you’d see that they are just bodies running the scout team. They don’t expect to play with the talent in front of them. Dressing up for a playoff game and practicing against the varsity is rewarding in itself. The responsibility by coaches in regards to development only goes so far. It is up to player to put the time in the gym and on the track to help him develop. Ian Johnson had the same coaches but yet he is a candidate for the Heisman and why? He decided to put the time and effort into becoming the best player he could be regardless of how he was coached.
Talking about other parents won’t help your cause either. It just makes you look worst then how your son apparently plays football. All you usually say about players is how big they are. “6’6’’ 300 lbs. and he can’t play division 1 in college. This is what you sound like all the time and guest what. There is something called talent and that player needs to obtain it whether his coaches are helping him or not. Next time you have an idea, think about it to yourself and let it go. Maybe if you decide to stop analyzing the wrongs with the program, players, and coaches you can spend time with your son so that people stop talking about what side of the bench he sits on.
Truly amazing how many haters there are in this group, and how personal they like get. 18DD, you are no different. Damien Dad, Bluorca, Mike the Clone, have deep outlooks and bring something extra to the blog, although I certainly DON'T buy everything they say, I'm glad they put alot into the discussions. I know they are going to rile me up, thats why i come back.
Damien Dad had to come out strong after the comments that were aired. His son should be proud. Damien Dad knows his shit, he's got football smarts. I've seen it up close.
18DD, welcome to the jungle! TAG your it!
Man i wish Damien would Hire "Damien dad" He knows EVERYTHING and would fix all our problems at all levels. What a waste of sideline coaching lolol
Damien Dad:
I agree with you that this blog is the forum to express opinions. My opinion is that you are a total and complete bore! Find a rock and crawl under it, please! None of the parents from DHS are interested in your opinions or takes. You stand apart from the rest of the parents. NEVER once did you encourage my son...all you do is dis him and the other boys! They have learned to blow you off! You encourage them? Hardly! I understand you were the talk of the locker-room today for your comments....and when the parents heard about it in the parking lot, we were discussing YOU and YOUR complete anti-social, know it all, disgusting behavior. Stay away from us, JERK! Fortunately, the boys are so awesome, they don't hold it against your boy and neither do we. You however, must consider your son and the shame you bring to him. Poor kid. Do your boy a favor, SHUT-UP! You're embarrassing him. If my father did to me, what you are doing to your boy, he would have lost his credibility and respect with me. Is your son losing his respect for you because of your potty mouth on this board? and your vitriolic comments? I wouldn't eat pizza with you - I would rather throw it in your face!
Way to go Damien Dad! Where is this Pizza Blast place? When do you guys meet up? Have you been following Garfield? They won again last night. I went to their first round game against Reseda, they won it in double OT, but I had to work yesterday. Good luck against Temescal Cyn. They were a finalist last yr, we played them in game one. 42-3 I believe the shallacking was, but they didn't score in the second half. Their first stringers kicked our butts, but not their second string. We were just so friggin' young! I think we held your "next yr's team" scoreless in the half too, lol. Gimme some details on the pizza place bro, and I hope Salesian whips Maranatha tomorrow too!
This site allreday at 130 so this is my last one here.
Does this sound familiar, Im Mike the CLOWN and all JJA coaches are flunkies and my pop warner manfriend should give all you coaches in the valley a clinic, his marbles are really huge, Im sorry I mean he is a great coach he has tight pants, Im sorry I mean he has a lot of class.
What a riot you are, keep comming man I've never heard a more mixed up dude in my life your a classic, come on say something else.
Talk football man if you can, thats what its all about, oh I forgot Aram wont let you talk about another program until yours finally beats someone with a winning record or
wins a playoff game.
Hey I know of a grammer and english blog that youll have a lot of fun on, its right next to the I have a "mancrush on a coach" blog.
FOOTBALL you fool talk football if you can, talk about your teams game this weekend, thats what we are suppossed to do here you freaken retard, oh im sorry I forgot you dont have a team in the playoffs so shut up goone, goone, goone (buffalo 66) see it you are in it.
Kit(from) Carson-
Great reponse. I respect the way you looked at the issues. The comment about "resembles the RB" is so accurate. I was responding in kind that Talmo was running well as a scout RB. Same goes for the grooming points. "Sometimes" is what we're both talking about and couldn't agree more. My point was specific in nature not as a general practice.
As far as fielding well rounded athletes again couldn't agree more. and was my point in terms of moving people around and seeing fits earlier is all I was long winded blogging, lol, about.
As far as the stupid coments about the coaches decisions regarding personnel goes and the quick fix personnel decisions, best I can say is , "You had to be there the last two years!" Once again from a strictly abstract scenario I could not agree more with ALL your comments. As far as in the specific --- think GM Isaiah Thomas and the Knicks. "nuff said!
Thanks for a great take!
Real DHS fan-
I am neither sick nor a disgrace on any level except your cowardly mind. AND I DON'T SPEAK BAD ABOUT THE PLAYERS- ANY OF THEM! SO GET OFF THAT BULLSHIT! How many times have I said or done something POSITIVE for tons of players or parents and never once did I expect anything in return.
There is no magic oath Damien parents take that everyone has to conform. I'm at practice and no one has said a god dam thing to me regarding the blog. Not once in four months! Always here on the GD blog. You know I'm not hard to find, call or visit.
What makes you a real DHS fan? Standing up to me and mocking Zachary. FU. Go to the 5th Quarter and listen to some of the shit I've heard over the last 3 years coming from Boosters and Alumni. People talk, blow off steam and we ALL forget it the next day. We move on, people have a right to vent! Adult style, maybe even you made a few comments there or to me. People love their school, love their kids and have ownership of Damien and any decisions that affect their kids. That's my buy-in ASSHOLE. My kids.
I tell you what a "real" Damien Fan does. Takes in interest in a kid you've never met and don't know, work with him all summer for free, assure him every chance you get he's college material, talk about him on the blog because no one else will, call him before BIG games and tell him he's UNSTOPPABLE and that he'll have a great game as always, NEVER let him doubt himself even when others did, even when no one else sees his potential or believes he's the BEST DT IN THE VALLEY I tell him he is because HE IS!, makes sure he has new cleats, wait for him after every game because his Dad takes his wheel chaired grandma home and can't be there to congratulate him when he's the last one out of the locker room because he left it all on the field! And he's just flat tired. That's not tooting my horn that's the ME you know nothing about. I am a lot more substantial than this blog or your comments would have people believe. Ask parents who know me if the comments I make to their kids is positive and helpful.
I won't listen to anyone make ridiculous comments about my family or Zachary because I say something on this blog or wear your ear out at practice. Yeah Zach was responsible for giving up two SHUTOUTS! That's so cheap and cowardly what was I going to do ignore that slimeball comment? The man knew alot about the defensive scheme and was articulte and concise enough not to make such a lowbrow comment about Zach when he knew better and was just pushing my buttons. To "Another Damien Parent" once again FU for that last comment! That was cheap!
I have fun with the blog and don't need anyone's permission or approval to say or think as I please. I agrued once with Randy from DB and found out his uncle Eddie Medina went to Salesian and we meet at the JV DB game, talked about our kids and exchanged cell#'s during the game. No hard feelings. See it's easier to be civil when you meet the "person" and easier yet to be vicious when no one know who you are. So I'm organizing the BLOGGERS PIZZA BLAST to make this blog more civil and yet only a few cowardly ASSHOLES seem to try and disgrace my boys. That won't go unanswered EVER AGAIN! So once again. FU and anyone else that feels so inclined. Always with the stupid cloaked responses. I don't hide my name or opinion, but others have and when ANYONE comments about Zach you will always get me pissed and hot headed.
I made the mistake once of backing down for having nothing more than an opinion and Zachary was used viciously to quiet me. If I didn't think the practice went well, and everyone agreed with that assessment even COACH FED wanted to make radical changes and told me so on several occasions. Or if I thought the team wasn't playing well because of poor coaching it was "Zach sucks" comments. Why because I stated the obvious. So FU and anyone else who uses my son as a battering ram. Make sure you heard that well. Sounds like poetic justice somehow doesn't it?
The last time Alex Gomez' dad Eddie Gomez decided to make harsh comments to me and my family on this blog rather than ignore or disagree with me in person. Hell it's only football! And that lowlife worked out with Sergio and other's and still made a mockery of Sergio's kindness. Bad heart and ALL! Wonder what our friend George would think of "jumping on the Coronas like that!" Eddie Gomez! Do you remember that stupidity. What ever I say here is what I feel without ANY agenda. Don't like it too bad. Heard the stupid comments by Talmo on the DB JV tape? I don't even know that Flanders looking asshole that he would feel comfortable mocking me. What the F does he know about football!
Like I said before the coaching at the lower levels at Damien in football is lacking. No one with any real footbal knowledge or experience would disagree with that assessment. Sorry but coaching CYO for 6 years or being a recent Damien graduate or being a "nice" guy doesn't make you qualified to coach a dangerous sport. Maybe basketball or golf but tackle football is dangerous, as everyone at Damien knows too well.
I'll keep my comments to football or the pizza party from now on and ONCE AGAIN apologize to everyone for letting this get under my skin.
Damien Dad you are sick you disgrace Damien. You shouldnt be talking bad about any of the players they all did a great job this year. As far as your son hes a great guy and no one should be making bad remarks about. I believe that all the JV players are doing a great job on varsity and are trying their hardest. Lets all not lose are temper over stupid things. LETS GO SPARTANS AND GO GET TC
no, sorry bro, we are two unique and different people. Just like you are a one of kind a$$hole who won't let things go---yeah, that sums it up.
See you friday, tough guy? don't hide, come out and play!
Opps forgot hey "Fraudulant Bleedsblungold"
The post that you did at:

Was utterly laughable, entertaining but laughable go back and do your homework and point out some facts in your rant and have a take and don't suck!

Anyone want to make odds that "Whalehunter" and the fraudulent "Bleedsblungold" not the original are one and the same. Just look at their grammar, spelling and styling!
It's kind of funny watching these two struggle and squirm. One is still upset about Pop Warner ball and defending the bad rap he gives the truly great Pop Warner coaches. (Refer to an earlier tirade by this guy, and you be the judge if you want your kid’s around guys like this in the Pop Warner program).
And the “Whalehunter well what are you going to say ......just watch his incoherent rants that make no sense but non-sense whatsoever. Although it is hilarious watching him insert foot in mouth constantly.

re: grooming for next year
A boy that played freshman fullback may end up as a senior lineman, or a sophomore running back may play varsity cornerback. Boys grow up and could be different type players at age 17 from what they were at 14. Sometimes the "grooming" thing does not work. I think that letting the boys try different positions at different times during their growth is a smart thing to do. Maybe YOU would have played a different boy at quarterback or linebacker, but apparently the coaching staff has a different philosophy. It looks like, from reading your blog, the coaches are doing that. From my (long ago) experience, sometimes you find a diamond in the rough. Grooming a boy for a specific position may end up like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole...he was a wonderful freshman center, but now he's a better tight end.
This, I think, also holds true for a boy's developement during the season. There are times when a coach will have a boy starting the first game at a certain position, then in the third game he's someplace else, or off the field. Perhaps he didn't fit into the team philosophy, or the offense/defense is evolving. In my opinion, just get as many boys on the field who can play, and the higher level coaches will sort them out as they get older and mature. I believe that this results in a more "well rounded" athlete. You watch your team's practices and say, in effect, "see, that boy should have been there all year". Maybe he's a runner in practice now because he approximates the size and stature of the upcoming opponent's player. It might be just that simple and not that the previous coach was "stupid".
You know what, i'm through with this. Your going to come back with some 7th grade bullshit, and this will go on till Dec 9th. Your stlye bugs me. You try to come off as "all knowing", slamming everyone from coach P, to every pop warner coach on the sidelines. You try to impress with fast talking, fast cramming non-sense. But what you really come off as is a stooge, and you consistently prove it with your takes. You obvisouly never get through on the Rome show, so your frustration comes through here on this blog.
That being said, we really shouldn't attack each other because of differing opinions. I think we both just like to get on peoples nerves, I know i'm guilty of this once in awhile myself. Enjoy your friday night out on the town with Shammy.
I'll report back from the DR game as soon as i can friday with either highlights or lowlights! I know your you'll be anxiously awaiting. DRHS has had a helluva ride this year, taking on the world (except for Ayala)!
Word up my bruthas!
dearest plaid skirt wearing dork,
yes mike the clown, thats you, Coach P is an excellent high school football coach. But you only go so far with what you've got. He's not a MIRACLE WORKER, and your team was obviously not up to beating any heavy weight this season, oh except Rowland by one point.
Chino Hills? Damien? Redlands? you lost the big games that counted either for league or to advance in the playoffs, your boys didn't have the heart, probably because of the whole men wearing skirts things. Are you going with Shamu to the LA game?
Souns like bleedsblueandgold has your number too....later dork!
Dear whale hunter Bluroca and others now many can understand my corrections of this mike the Clown character he is constantly putting the players or the coaches down from programs he doesnt know a thing about, he blast pee wee kids, coaches he blast parents and he even blast other teams his program didnt have the marbles to play, I think we should bar this guy from speaking about anything other than his own program and how they are doing.
This is the same character who said that all coaches in valley needed a seminar from his kids pee wee coach because he is the greatest of all time or something to that affect, and this is the same wise guy who is allways apologizing for saying something stupid every time he blogs.
On a reral subject now my game predictions for this friday, my gut says final four in southwest are all from S.G.V.
I think Diamond ranch has one great game and knocks off eldorado, why D-ranch tougher and has faced lots of adversity they win 21-20 or something close
Im really leaning toward South Hills over Charter Oak, I feel S/H has a passing game that C/O doesnt, and we all know what C/O's nick name is, also some key kids hurting on O for Charter.
S/H 17- 14 or 14-7
Los Altos is still the dark horse here but I feel foothill is good, can punch but doesnt like to get punched in mouth, Los Al more physical, O/C teams are great against other O/C teams but struggle against the more physical teams.
the years that Los Al has won titles the other teams suppossed to win, had better size and talent but Los Al was tougher inside.
Los Al 21-17 or 28-21
West Co definitely moves on to next round here again tougher kids for W/C, and playing best ball right now dont feel they can be stopped on way to title, West Co now settling back into identity with ofense look for high score.
21-7 or 28-10
S/W division the one to follow this year for me many of the same type of kids at Amat playing at these schools, and knowing that if we had about 5 to 10 of these kids from around here we'd be O.K. still my argument we gotta get these 5 to 10 kids and keep them to have even a shot. Anyway my finals prediction is Los Al vs West Co the start of a great rivalry that goes down for next few years.
Bluorca,
Interesting how whale hunter talks out of both side of his mouth he took my bait and just choked on it and I'll qoute him:
"I know you feel like somebody lifted up that dainty kilt of yours and exposed you for the fraud of a playoff team that Glendora is, but that ain't my fault. Wait, weren't you the jack off baggin' on Coach P? The dude is a damn good high school football coach, proven winner at 3 different schools, unless i'm thinking of someone else?"
First this incoherant moran slams "Coach P Schottenheimer" with the little play-off swipe and then say's he's a proven winner.
So what is it Whalehunter?
Thanks whale hunter your "cred" just went out of the door when you inserted your foot into that mouth of yours.
Damien Dad and Bluorca we now know where this guy is coming from. If a jackass kicks you, you don't kick it back.Enough said!
GOOD NIGHT NOW!
I AM OUT!

"Just when you try to get out...they PULL you back in!" Godfather III.
Bad time to get pissed when the Damien players are focused on TC. My apologies to the Damien Varsity players.
Dan- My bad this is an old and cancerous wound. And apparently not healed.
Damienfan- You're right. I got hot heated on that one.
Mikey- Thanks for the kind words. I owe you a beer!
Great practice today. Major props to several JV players who "went up and got striped". They're EARNING those stripes very quickly!
Talmo-did great job at RB "again". He runs hard and finds holes pretty consistently. Reminds me of a young U of Kansas John Riggins. 6'1" and deceptive speed. Just glides towards openings. Workman-like. Hasn't fumbled YET! and they're pounding him. Who would have THUNK it, Talmo @ RB?
Odom-Played NOSE GUARD 5'6"160 wet! And man this kid took a beating but alway got up! Pancaked several times and Varsity O-line kept picking him up. That's a compliment to his heart and toughness.
G.Flores-Good instincts. Great effort. OSLB fits you well. Work on flexibility over the summer and turn and runs technique but other than that- very nice.
J. Reyes- what can you say? Love to see him @ MLB to showcase his skills. Hell Odom played NG? Very surprised if he doesn't get major minutes next year. Fantastic player. Deceptive speed, great instincts and very comfortable on the field and in the game. Reminds me of Patriots legend Steve Nelson and Broncos legend Randy Gradishar. Google them kid - That's you!
Carter- He seems quicker and faster at this level. This kid CAN move! Great wheels!
Martinez- Like I said centers are a different breed. Luiten's strong, huh?
JV O/D Lines- Taking care of business and showing what you are made of- very, very good.
BLOGGERS PIZZA BLAST STILL ON!!! PLANS FOR END OF THE SEASON COMING TOGETHER. NO HURT FEELINGS, JUST THE LOVE OF THE GAME WE ALL LOVE. LET'S GET TOGETHER AND SHOW THE TRIBUNE THAT PREP SPORTS MEANS LOYALTY AND LOYALTY MEANS DOLLARS!!!
Thanks Aram and Reg for your all your efforts, see you "both" @ the Blast! Hopefully!
what would qualify someone as a all valley offensive line man?
maby 3 year starter,25 starts,0 sacks allowed......DOES THAT SOUND GOOD?
also maby a both way player? wat do you think im just curious?
bluorca, you wrote NOV 20 at 6:41 pm, "All we need next year is a decent stable QB to be a playoff contending team"
So who is writing "old and boring" material here on this blog??? The time for speculation is over?? You brought that up bro, not anyone else, I was just quick to stomp down your throat for the umpteenth time this year, that it much more than one kid.
No one wants to hear about Amats problems right now. We don't care. AND you won't influence decisions made over there either way. How foolish of you to think that your whiny takes on this blog will be weighed heavily in the wake of things to come. Do you really take yourself that seriously???
So your going with Los Altos friday? Cool, they are an exciting team thats fer sure, didn't Diamond Ranch beat them too?
Props to all the teams from the SGV left in the CIF playoffs, "TAKE NO PRISONERS FRIDAY NIGHT MEN!"
Geez Damien Dad, did I miss something, it seems like the guy just had a different opinion than you, no reason to spaz out the way you did.
Thanks Mr. Clone
The Whale Hunter has been trying to bait me all season. This would be the umpteenth time he has tried to get my blood boiling. He must love my rants but fortunately for everyone, I'm choosing to be the better person and ignore his last comment. The time for speculation is over and the subjects he brings up are outdated and boring.
It's time to support ALL the SGV teams in the playoffs!....even Diamond Ranch! haha!
mike the clown, relax bro! no one on this blog COMMANDS RESPECT, you blab your opinion, you might get slammed, or you might get props. Either way, nobody commands respect. This isnt some secret society with rank and structure. Its pure entertainment, plain and simple. ANYONE can take shots at anyone else. I'm not getting personal and I ain't saying nothing that he hasn't thought to himself, while he's sitting there all alone.
I know you feel like somebody lifted up that dainty kilt of yours and exposed you for the fraud of a playoff team that Glendora is, but that ain't my fault. Wait, weren't you the jack off baggin' on Coach P? The dude is a damn good high school football coach, proven winner at 3 different schools, unless i'm thinking of someone else?
Let Bluorca fight his own battles, he likes to talk here, he's doing just fine. Maybe you too can get together and carpool down the 210 and 15 to watch Damien kick ass, friday, OR just hop along together to Pomona and catch alittle D RANCH up close. Either way, I could care less, just don't come in here telling me who to back off from, like your the pit boss or something!
Ganesha High, fri nite, 7:30 on the west side 40 yard line, top row. Fat mexican with the bad teeth, and uneven fade. Sporting the shit eating grin. See ya there TOUGH GUY?
Whalehunter,
There are two people who command respect here in this blog. One is Damien Dad and the other is Bluorca. Both of these guy's love their ball clubs and have great takes on what's going on with their teams.
Please don't be coming in firing off blast at Bluorca. The guy is a winner even if his team is sitting the dance out this year. He speaks of tradition and what is expected out of his football team and coaches. He loves his kid's so back off okay tough guy!
Sorry guy's just had to say that!
Damien Dad that last post was intense man, and I tought I was intense about things wheeewwwww!

I agree that our LB's better have the bet game that they have played all year. I also believe you to be correct on our jv coaching.
But as far as your last Blog. In the words of SGT. Herka aka Stripes. Lighten up Francis it's only a blog my friend.
ONE GAME ONE UNIT ONE WIN "GO SPARTANS"
"Another" Damien Dad,
Of course I didn't have the job, is that why there's a blog. Of course no one is the coach here but we all either agree or disagree with whatever, it's a blog! Next point that's one's tried, played out and weak. And at some level cowardly and dishonest and YOU know that.
Rabe playing MLB was 2 games too many( And I think you recall wrong from what Baiz and Rabe told me LAST yr.) and Rabe should have been on Varsity as a SO. And beside that wasn't my point. And only point not that some JO defense was best suited for this group this year but certainly not next year , right? 3-3-3 really? Who runs that Army, Citadel, Pepper Rogers? Grooming JV players for Varsity was my point.
Besides McMahon doesn't seem to fumble at the Varsity level on kickoffs and further makes my point that he should have been in the secondary being groomed. Odom ran the ball against the Varsity at practice as did Talmo yesterday and both ran scared but ran hard. Must have been the blocking schemes and not that BS offense that Coach Jan moth- balled out of his como se llama. Maybe you missed that part of practice seeing that you came late. Richardson, you're just dead wrong he's a very good corner certainly better than the other two, better athlete, better feet. Lost the corner job when Jake came down(and was beaten regularly) and Gomez was used from time to time ineffectively( by his own admission to me "he's lost at corner and doesn't know how to play the position" Other than the run.). As for Serafinco, great kid , nice dad but both Brandon last year and Fuchs this year are better leaders and passers and at Damien "passing" is our life blood so moot point on the option attack. Too bad Fuchs got hurt he was starting at the time and the offense was scoring at will-disagree? SEE Ayala and the game after. As for Kent, EXCELLENT EXCELLENT HITTER ( Loudest HITS all year!) -easier to make him stronger than to believe he will quicken up and be Pertusati, smarts makes up for speed but not at the Varsity level in the secondary it don't.
Your last statement about Zachary makes your otherwise great football analysis, very very disturbing. He played 14 plays total this year minus KOs.And DNP in 3 games. THAT'S 14 plays in a season not a game! I know he didn't deserve more, beat you to it,so why was he the starting scout MLB! That's not even one 4 down series the whole season much less a quarter to work things out. So FUCK YOU! And any other JV dad that comes in here on the cheap and easy and comes at ME that way. Both were 60 plus runs for TDs. And both were at the end of the game---like the last 3 plays of the game. Maybe you can share your football knowledge and not your personal aside and tell everyone how one MLB missed tackle can cause a 60 yard TD all by himself. If you played football , which you obviously did, explain how that's even credible much less factual. Against Ayala Zach was making the Tackle and Duffy and him collided on the hit and the RB broke loose. How many broken or missed tackles did Williams, Gomez, Odom or any other defensive player have in 14 plays. So again FUCK YOURSELF!See the film, The other one he missed the tackle, plain and simple. Like everyone else. So that was cheap. Tackles are missed and TEAMS get scored on. Remember the concept of "team" defense. I know people say I loose my temper easily but after that last ASSHOLE I won't put up with another cheap ASSHOLE that takes cheap shots at Zach. Besides Zachary isn't going to play football(his choice) and will wrestle instead.
As far as being run over. DID NOT HAPPEN. EVER, NOT THIS YEAR NOT LAST YEAR. Maybe that's why Coach Jan told me (twice) and Zach (once) he was being "striped" after the season and being moved up to Varsity. I even told Coach Jan in front of Zach how that was possible if he NEVER played. His response he has a Varsity LB body. 5'9" 195 and he's only 15! Much like Varsity Justin Luiten who people said lacked "something" and therefore did not play much. Yeah what he lacked was coaching and reps. He might make All CIF if Damien wins 2 more games so again- BLOW IT OUT OF YOUR ASS! Disagree with my football points on the blogs and disagree with me in person or walk away if I talk too much but as far as the Coach Lombardi, Resident Expert, and other crap that you hear on Silva's JV tapings, especially the Ayala game! The Volume is ON and Talmo ask the Eschaides family before you say something stupid that I did not help Travis. Ask his Dad before you run your mouth. Where did you play that you know enough to comment. How stupid to have tapes of games with parents trash talking in the back ground. And that's the only tape I've reviewed!
I'll be at practice so you can disagree in person and tell me all about how Zach doesn't cut it.

DUARTE HIGH SCHOOL WINS IT ALL!!!!
GO FALCONS
I got a chance to check out Damien this week and I am not impressed. They barely beat Carter. The will proably not win this week. If they do, they will not win the next week.
As for Workman and Duarte, well done. Duarte's determination to be a winner is appreciated, and the effort of Workman to wake-up is to be commended.

Very Early Game Prediction-
Damien continues to win games with big plays and great individual efforts by everyone. Every single player has played out of their minds for this magical run. EVERYONE. But "most" of this season's defining plays were off broken plays and that's a MAJOR concern.
Another thing that concerns me is Damien's lack of sustained drives in any games I've seen. 14/16 play drives kill teams but I can't recall a defining drive this season that was "ram it down your throat" football. Maybe that's by design or maybe it's Damien has better skill players than most teams. I know we have MORE skill and BIGS than anyone I've seen short of Notre Dame, and therefore don't play smash mouth ball even though we have the O- line to do just that.
TC runs the hell out of the ball. That means they "pop" big gains 40/50 yrd TDs and work 3.5 to 4.5 yrds a carry and THAT'S alot of first downs and very demoralizing to ANY defense. So the game will be won or lost a the LB position. I think Hile, Gomez and Stokes play out of their minds for Damien to stay competitive before Mendrun puts on his second half show. I also think Travis NEEDS to be on the field the whole game because of his size, speed, hitting ability and Football smarts. Hey it's WIN OR GO HOME! Travis plays the WHOLE GAME!
I also see how Los Osos scored alot of points on TC's defense so Damien should have no problems scoring. Play calling by Morrison needs to be sharp and players need to stay focused - NO SLOW START. Routs and momentum shifts are very comom in the second round because teams and coaches look at the clock earlier/different and teams panic in the 3rd quarter. Composure wins in the post season.
TC has 3300 yds rushing and 330 yds passing with 2tds and 2 ints but I suspect they'll use back side posts to the TE and strong side streaks to challenge Damien's deep coverage issues. Much like 80s University of Oklahoma teams did in big games. Too much crowding the line. If Damien goes to a 5 man front it's a blowout of long TD runs. Better to go with the girl that you brought to the dance and Damien needs to play to it's strenghts and not get cute. Cute was vs. Ayala and this ain't Ayala! No offense to AHS but we should have made a "POUND IT" statement DRIVE in that game for sure!
Finally, in big games it's not always the "regular stars" that shine but "new" stars bust out that make the difference (Think Super Bowls)
Score: Damien 42 TC 21. if our LBs play out of their minds and Taylor busts out!
Good luck to the Damien's "Magnificient Seven" Defensive Line you're ALL going to play in this game so tighten up the chins straps boys cuz it's going to be HIT or be HIT!!
Damien Dad,
Interesting post. I may, however, clear up for you some misconceptions. As a JV, John Rabe played MLB in only two games (as I recall). The starter was out with injury. McMahon, as JV RB, averaged two fumbles per game. Neither Odom nor Reyes were DE's. They both were OLB's. Williams was a weak safety/robber, not a LB. There was only one interior LB...that was Flores. The SS rolled into the front as the defense was a 3-3-3. Both Talmo and Evans shared time at TE with Talmo being an excellent hook/ #3 blocker on option. I think ODOM was tried at RB and was not effective. Richardson is NOT a CB and Serafinko is not a passing type QB, but in understanding the offense and as a leader, he seemed to be the best that the JV's had. He was a great option QB and tough as nails. Yeager and Silva will be fine OL/DL in the future, but they have yet to grow into their bodies. Kent, as FS, fit perfectly into the defensive scheme. It seems as the offense and the defense fit into the talent available and was not necessarily a clone of what the varsity does. It seems that lots of players received lots of experience in different positions and those experiences can only benefit the varsity staff next year. Talmo is not a RB and never will be, and neither is Herrera. Herrera can't find the hole and Talmo can't break a tackle. There will probably be several JV's who saw limited time this year who will see field time for the varsity over the next two seasons. What I saw was a two platoon system with the players who could get the job done, on the field. Some of them were disapointments, others were surprises. Corona was tried at OL, FB, and MLB. He seems to be a great kid, but kept getting run over. The JV's missed two shutouts because he missed the tackle in both games. I think that a staff which can adjust both an offense and a defense to the players abilities and not be limited to a "clone" varsity (as in Glendora)is to be appreciated. They may not run a practice as would you, but you didn't have the job.
WHAT WERE U TALKIN BOUT WITH IAN JOHNSON?LINK THE ARTICLE
Shamu, ok so you got me sitting here wondering who outside of the Sierra League teams could have given St Franny or Rancho Cucamonga a game? RC didn't even make the playoffs, ANY playoff caliber team from the valley could've thrown down with them on any given night (don't even bring up the depleted WC team that played RC, that was 7 weeks ago). But St Franny, hmmm, I think Diamond Ranch would have with thier bruiser TB, Aubrey Haynes. I'm sure Damien would have. Chino Hills? yep,but they would have needed to be at full strength. See, the thing is though, you claim that Amat is the gem of the SGV and would blast through any SGV opponent that is put before them. I don't dispute that. I never have. But right now, your aren't jack shit in the Pac-5. Your bottom 10 in the Pac-5. And saying that your one QB away from challenging for the Pac-5 crown is quite a load crap there bro. Do you remember Hart, Valencia, Carson?? you were outmanned and beat down in the trenches, you need more than just one man to be a contender in the Pac-5. You boys have probs with depth all around and legit line play, measured at the level of PAC 5 competition. YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN O FER LEAGUE IN THE TRINITY! oh wait, my bad, you would have coughed up a win against JSerra.
I'd like you to disect your team with the scrutiny it truly deserves instead of trying to peddle the struggles of this season on one kid. But do us all a favor and save it for the spring 2007 blogs, cause right now we just wanna hear rants and raves about current, competing playoff contending teams. Not woulda, coulda, shoulda, has-beens!
Damien Dad, obviously you follow the Damien football program very closely and at all levels. You seem to know the players and talent at the different levels, which is way deeper than I go or for that matter most fans go with the program. But I do enjoy watching the varsity play, especially this year, what an exciting team. No matter what the outcome every game they play is great to watch. What's your prediction on the upcoming game? I'm very worried about TC, I think they will give us some problems. Damien's D is really going to have to step up for this one.
hs football fan-
You're right McMahon is very talented. He has only one gear and it's full blast! Seen him as a RB last year and this year is his first year, I believe, in the secondary. Great kid, great energy, great wheels- wonder why he isn't used @ RB anymore? Can't be any riskier than having him run back kickoffs.
One thing about Ryan that happens ALOT at Damien is the lack of development of players at the positions they are going to play at the Varsity level. If Ryan has a weakness it's that he wasn't groomed for 2 years at his eventual Varsity position. This happens WAY TOO OFTEN at Damien. Yet his athletism makes up for his secondary "inexperience". Should have seen him in passing league, wow what an improvement! Great competitor , great kid, great parents - ABSOLUTELY NO KNOCKS ON HIM PERSONALLY JUST HIS DEVELOPMENT by DHS coaches.
Same with John Rabe who played MLB his JV (So.)@ 6'5" 265 lbs (unheard of and unrealistic) last year rather than DE on Varsity/JV. What the heck was everyone thinking! Rabe's a DIV I prospect at DE!
The same goes for JV players Flores playing inside rather than WSLB, Odom playing DE rather than RB or SS @5'7 155, same goes with Sale at DE,Gomez and Herrera at RB,Fuentes at RG, Carbajal at LB, and many, many others who played JV positions they WILL NEVER play at the Varsity level. Bento and Maxwell are solid at WR, Richardson's a "lock down corner" and should have started all year, what a waste!, S Kent should have been moved up to LB, Talmo is a LB/Guard and not a TE, hell he played RB at practice against the Varsity today and found holes consistently, Evans is a TE, hard worker, great hands and very coachable and maybe a slot. Same for Serafinco TE/LB. Two years at starting QB and both times lost the starting position to backups by season's end when he should have been sharpest. Sorry but he's not a Varsity QB (Mendrun and Pertusati had "it" their Freshmen year, Kenny doesn't)Just look at him @ the Varsity NOW and is there any doubt.
Fuchs and maybe someone on the Freshmen team need to take the snaps from here on in. If you see the JV team now against the Varsity you see the "TEAM" and "POSITIONS" that JV players should have played ALL YEAR LONG and the "TEAM" that should and could have gone UNDEFEATED. Coach Jan ain't the man for the job anymore than there should be a Rocky 6. Talks too much at practice, doesn't know how to run a practice(does he even use a practice plan?), doesn't let his assistant coaches run position skill drills and makes promises he doesn't keep. Other than that he's a nice man and a gentleman but a DIV II HS coach ...NO!
The JV team is huge, strong and mobile, just like Damien's Varsity. What a waste of a second year and a poor reflection on Coach Jan and his staff regarding player development. They went with quick fixes rather prepare players for Varsity.
Jason Reyes is probably best suited for MLB rather than DE. It's easier to make him quicker than to weigh him down and make him slower. J.R. a ball hawk not a down lineman! B. Williams is NOT LB but really a USC Troy Palomaulu/Matt Gootergard type SS. Back him up, he ain't a LB in a 4-3 or a 50. Can't get out of the way of linemen! Summer with the Varsity didn't help him much. Went airborne again today! But he has speed and hits well when they don't see him coming. Play the secondary. Same with Veith -5'6" 187lb corners can't cover Sophs Bento or Taylor much less Pertusati, Lucero, Harper or Travis. Austin and Carter are FB/RB combo of the future not DT and CB -that's just stupid and lazy coaching.
Some may not agree but do the math. Are Odom and Sale next year's Walsh and Rabe? Carabajal, Avila, A.Gomez next year's B.Gomez,Hile and Stokes? Veith and Carter next year's Harper and Lucero? Fuentes and Rodarte next year's Pittman and De La Torre? Is Kent and Brooks next year's Pertusati and Marine? The list goes on and on. Lazy quick fix coaching. Here's a TIP for the anyone "thinking" they should go up to Varsity as Sophs "You ain't as good as Travis as a Soph...STAY DOWN!!! Look at Taylor Herrera. Taylor ...Travis. Travis...Taylor. Yup! Both were So. Varsity starters and had "IT" in spades!
D/O-line- 5'11" plus 215 plus: Salter, Okarfor,Yeager, Madueno,Silva, Sippell, Rodarte, Cychner,V.Reyes, Martinez (centers are a whole 'nother breed)
LBs= 5'9 plus and 195 plus: J.Reyes, G.Flores, Kent, Talmo, Edelman, Corona, Serafinco
DBs/WR-5'8" plus 4.9 speed MIN.:Richardson, Bento, Sale, Maxwell,Williams, Haywood, Odom, Carbajal, Gomez,Nash, Betance.
Just like the Defensive Four Man Front that Damien NOW uses to perfection, some things are just Football 101 and require very little effort to figure out. Get it together at the lower levels and Damien will be on a 10 yr run.
If I'm wrong about these player's REAL positions and what the JV coaches SHOULD have done THIS year..why are the JV's lined up against the Varsity just the way I said back in AUG/SEPT? Come this time next year...we'll see who's right and who's righteous. Until then.
oh wait! my bad....this valley team has to be missing their starting running back and also have at least 9 starters on their defense that are Juniors! Then...we will talk..until then...stfu. Thanks!
Ok thats fair...you pick me a valley team that could actually beat St. Francis or Rancho Cucamonga and I'll be your dog...
hey ah BLU, you all over there at Amat need more than a stable QB for next years "big run". You need an overhaul, you need line-men, about 10 of them, who go one way only. Dont try to sell us anymore crap about "how it is used to be" at Amat, cause right now, IT IS WHAT IT IS, so get out your thomas guide, maybe grab fridays edition of the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, and pick a game to go sit and pout at, maybe that DR game might do you some good after all. In any case, put away your old yearbooks, and go watch a team you haven't seen, so you can do more than just regurgitate stats from maxpreps and calpreps, stick that in your blow hole and have a nice swim!
" ...Lots of pride with the locals on the line here but I am giving CO the slight edge based on the Miramonte being a little better than the San Antonio..."
If you consider only the top three in each league, it would be a toss up.
I hear ya Joe Amat!
St. Paul football is still trying to recover from his reign. Here's to 10 more years of "we'll be better next year!" HAHA! Just kidding guys...all we need is a decent stable QB next year and we will have a playoff contending team. If we can find a way to build more muscle and lose more fat, and stop playing so many of our skilled players both ways, perhaps our team can have the gas to actually play all FOUR quarters of football.
Until then I will bandwagon with another SGV team. My first choice was Glendora but that died quickly. I do love an underdog so I be routing for Los Altos who I think faces the stiffest competition this week! Well, thats not really true, Diamond Ranch has a daunting task...but I dont really care about DR lol!
bluorca,
You've been around long enough that you could dive deep and do some looking around. That's what orcas do.
You'll find out it isn't just disgruntled fans rumors. Rooney could have been ours. Of course, that was before he was the Rooney that he is today. So could his D coordinator, who was a young assistant at a different school at the time.
This may bode well for verti, who fits the same "young, assistant with potential" mold. So all we have to do is wait about 10 years and everyone will forget this era and he'll have developed. By then, the bald guy in the black suit that is the source of all the problems may be gone.
hey damienfan,
I agree with you that #2 ryan mcmahon is a heavy hitter and has played solid defense all year. he doesn't get much publicity but he plays the strong safety position as good as anybody i've seen so far this year. the good news is that he's only a junior.
i also agree that the defense is going to have to take it to another level if they expect to win this week. temescal canyon is waaay better than carter. they smoked los osos and barely lost to vista murriets. we need to bring our A game and a big team effort if we expect to win this week. good luck spartans!
FOOTHILL VS. SANTA MARGARITA GAME (Found it!)
Just as I feared, Santa Margarita was its own worst enemy with redzone turnovers in this game. Just like the Redlands/Carter game, SM statistically dominated Foohill but the game was kept close because of SM turnovers. SM only allowed Foothill 5 first downs in the game! Foothills only points of the game was a int that was made in their OWN redzone and returned for a TD. Other than this, they were completely shut down. Foothill does have a good defense though...they did keep SM's RB in check all night. With this info its hard to predict how good Foothill is because they played a Santa Margarita team that was having an off night.
I'm willing to bet the farm that if Foothill's defense led by an outstanding player in LUKE ROBERTS (3 sacks, 2 fumble recovered vs. SM) was able to keep Santa Margarita in check, they will have little trouble stopping anything that Los Altos throws at them. Los Altos fans will disagree with me of course, but Santa Margarita is truly one of those "next level" teams but you have to be familiar with Santa Margarita to understand what I'm talking about. There are many in the valley that underestimated Redlands because Redlands has been the red-headed beaten step-child of Div. 1 football for many a year. What everyone forgot was that Redlands has been playing at this level for years and years. I expect big things from the Foothill defense againts Los Altos. As far as Foothill's offense is concerned....I am clueless so I really can't make a good prediction at this time. All I know is that Foothill's offense was hammered BADLY by Santa Margarita.

Note to all about Orange County teams...
Just because a team is from Orange County does not mean that they are a "powerhouse." The power of Orange County football that you all read about or watch on TV comes from very specific high schools and most of them are in the Pac-5 or from the upper divisions of last year. Other than attendance there is little difference between most Orange County schools and the schools from the SGV. So before you want to claim a monumental victory againts an "OC powerhouse" make sure they are actually an "Orange County powerhouse" and not simply located in Orange County and having a good season.
Aram:
Okay, that makes sense. They were both predicted to lose 28-19.
Of course, any "transitive margin of victory" formula like Freeman's is going to break down when a team is completely different than it was when it played the majority of its games. South Hills is rated on several games where they had to rely on a number of JV callups, and Westco ran the wrong offense the first 8-9 games of the season.
BTW, according to some coaches that were at the CIF office when the pairings were first posted, the Mayfair coach expressed that he was not at all happy to draw West Covina (he apparantly wanted El Toro).
Aram dont favor Wesco this week please...thanks
Joe Amat
Those were interesting facts about the Servite Hut Drills. I never really noticed the chicken scratching before! haha! Troy Thomas is a class act...too bad he's a Friar!!! There have been numerous rumors about this and that coach that Amat could have/should have hired. To be honest, unless you are on the administration that was directly responsible for those decisions, we will never know the truth. I personally have heard potential coach stories from Bruce Rollingson to Gano. I think that most of the rumors are just that...rumors from disgruntled Amat fans but we will never know for sure.
MATMTWTBAG
Low attendance at these so called big games here in the SGV is a major reason why the CIF and the LA Times often overlook teams in the San Gabriel Valley. Amat's attendance has been in a decline recently but the stands are still pretty full every game depending on who Amat is playing. There might be a lack of "standing room only" football games but Amat crowds are giant in comparison to the other schools in the area. I agree with your assessment of SO Notre Dame. They do indeed look like a JC caliber of team. They will definitely rock Long Beach Poly who had trouble with Mater Dei. SO Notre Dame is going to surprise many out of the Trinity League. I agree with your prediction of the final game between the Irish and the Diablos. As far as who is going to win this game....that is up in the air...both teams have equal talent so I think we will see a game like the Ohio State/Michigan game.....it's going to be HUGE HUGE HUGE!
Any team that can hang with Santa Margarita this year is a pretty good team. It's hard to tell though. Redlands statistically dominated Carter earlier in the season but because of turnovers and penalties, Redlands struggled with scoring points and barely escaped with a 7-6 victory. This has been a severe problem for them all season. I dont know what happened between Foothill and Santa Margarita so it's hard to assess the strength of Foothill's team. I'll try to find more info on this game...
Mike- heard his practices were tight. Also don't you think the players, position -wise are fundamentally sound. They tackle hard, run hard and for the most part catch and run well. Maybe I'm wrong but they looked solid last year.
Jhykron,
I wasn't referring to this week, I was referring to last week. Calpreps had South Hills and West Co losing to Canyon and Mayfair, respectively, by what I recall as being comfortable margins.
Aram:
"Calpreps' projected scores for South Hills and West Covina had both of those teams losing in blowouts. Nevermind. Coaches and QBs make this thing go. "
Umm, according to:
http://www.calpreps.com/cgi-bin/2006/cptournv.pl?tournament=Southern,_Southwest_(VI)
West Covina is predicted to beat Trabuco by 1, while Charter Oak is favored by 1 over South Hills. Hardly blowouts in either case. The only big victory margin picked by the freeman ratings is El Dorado over Diamond Ranch.
Calpreps' projected scores for South Hills and West Covina had both of those teams losing in blowouts. Nevermind. Coaches and QBs make this thing go.
Just want the cyber world to know that Jenny Craig knows all. Example LA v Rowland.
Come on now Damien Dad:
"detail oriented, prepares players well"
I'll excuse you this time must have been momentary loss of your normally good judgement.
You made that one to easy for me to take a swipe at you my friend.
Out!
Mike the Clone
If I noticed correctly, Troy Thomas has made one change in the legendary Servite "Hut Drill" since he arrived. At the conclusion of the drill for at least the last 30 years the players would always turn their backs on the losing side (whether it was Servite or the opponenet)and "kick dirt like a dog" towards the losing team as if it was covering a "land mine" left by your pooch. The hidden meaning was, very clearly, that the losing team was a pice of crap.
Thomas, being the classy coach that he is (and may be the next Oaks Christian coach if inside sources are correct)eliminated that.
Interesting note on the coaching front. Some of you oldtimers (and Aram) can do some research and you'll find, legend has it, that a long time ago amat had a chance to hire either of a couple of young unkown assistants from other schools that were interested in the job during one of the transition periods. Those two coaches are now the Head Coach and the Defensive Coordinator of the #1 team in the Pac-5.
Report back with any findings to confirm or deny !
Took in the Los Altos Rowland game Friday. Seemed like LA was a notch in size and talent higher than Rowland. Since merging the San Antonio and Miramonte leagues together this year it seemed to make a differance. Rowland by far was never in this game. I am a HS AMAT football fan so it did not matter which side I sat on, but to me I chose Rowlands side only because it seemed like their crowd was low in attendance and that I could get a better seat...Where were all their Fans?.....lots of Walnut kids there and also Amat QB (Carrillo) in attendance. A yawner by half time.....Can LA outplay Foothill is yet to be seen, altho Foothill played a D1 Santa Margarita very close this year, these are the playoffs and as in So Hills and WC anything can happen. I think LA can hang with Foothill reguardless of what CalPreps is predicting. CO and So Hills a classic...Lots of pride with the locals on the line here but I am giving CO the slight edge based on the Miramonte being a little better than the San Antonio......Covina will be in a tight one with St. Josephs..the fourth Quater will determine that one. Pac5 is shaping up real nice but I still dont think there is anone that can stop SO Notre Dame....Cal Preps has Poly playing them close but I disagree they will roll Poly as well.....
I was disappointed that WCHS didn't get the front page cover of the sports section of the Tribune on Saturday. We beat the #1 Team, in what was one of the best games played by the Bulldogs this year. They never gave up and proved to everyone that they have the heart and dedication to win. Lets give the Bulldogs the credit they deserve.
bluorca,
You hit it right on the head, tradition is what drives the Amat fans crazy.
I was at the LA vs Rowland game and I got to the game about 2-3 mminutes befor the game and I walked in and sat 50 yard line and the Rowland side was only about 1/3 full and about 1/2 that was the band. LA side had more fans but still not the crowd for a game less than 10 miles away.
Even in a down season, such as this year, Kiefer Stadium was always full. There are always the fans of all ages there and the young fans are taught young what tradition is. As for Servite, the traditional drills. I have seen it done for 30 years and I do not think it has changed at all, it is pretty neat.
As for Amat they stand strong weather they win or loose and sing the Alama Mater. The students, fans and alumni in the stands also stand tall together, TRADITION. Bluorca you are right 100% regarding the passion of the Amat fans and if you have not been part of it you do not understand it.
Coach Verti,
Have a productive off season and I ask you again to take an objective look at the staff. We need to most qualified personnel to compete in this new division but I know Amat will shine.
DamienFan?-
Are you sure I seen Pitman after the game walking with Eyeblack on his face, like Randall from the Vikings from a couple of years back. But if that's the case if only reaffirms my point that Coach Bubba is a STUD LINE COACH. He busts their busts every practice! Takes no gruff and is all about the details. I love it when he yells at other position players, "CATCH THE BALL!" or "HOLD THE BALL RIGHT!" Good coaches see everthing ...great coaches hold EVERYONE accountable!
Last point, about Damien's football team. Seems to me the TEAM has grown and is ready to accept/impliment more "football" and the coaches are still stuck a few steps behind their player's strenghts and abilities. That's the only reason I see game after game that great individual "plays" beat the other teams down. Reminds me of people who stall out their sports cars at the stop light because they've not used to the gears. Not a complaint---Just an observation.
Damien is a powerhouse talent wise and they are spoon feeding scheme wise. If you plan for 14 games you teach for 14 games and that means more than SGV and league opponents. Hope Damien puts it ALL together Friday and bust free. Go Spartans!
Buck?-
I too am big fan of Coach Pasquerella for the reasons you mentioned, classy, detail oriented, prepares players well and so forth. And I thought his running Benny Rodriguez to the HOME FIELD side over and over was brilliant in last year's comeback win against Damien. But Mike brings up a couple of good points and they have to do with COACHING SENSE.
1) No Head Set? 2) No Game Plan Sheet? 3) Pooch Punting? These are problematic for the same reason but to different areas of your football team.
It shows a lack of confidence in your coaching staff, your coordinators and your players. Look at it this way Walsh, Carroll, Weiss, Bellick, Johnson all wear head sets but he doesn't? All those issues are quirky at best and really make NO FOOTBALL SENSE. No one else consistently Pooch Punts at ANY level of football, ANY LEVEL, why Coach P.? But hey he wins everywhere he coaches and the kids love him so I 'm still a fan of his- just a confused fan.
Finally what is it with the nice guy loves kids and wins enough vs. wins championships and is a jerk paradigm? Why can't you be a nice guy who wins and doesn't screw over kids? That's called oversight, accountability and integrity.
Aram you really dont give any respect to duarte i hope this win atleast opens your eyes a bit
Hey lol,
You must have not been at the game, West Co had
1 TD on special teams, the other points were the result of offensive drives, the first was a 32 yrd five play drive that resulted in a TD. The other two scores were field goals,
the first came after a nice offensive drive that took up most of the first 7 minutes of the 4th qtr. that tied the game. The second was the game winning field goal that came after another offensive drive that started near midfield & took about two & a half minutes. West Co didn't have a big offensive night but niether did Mayfair. Both teams had very good defense but West Co's was a little better as they shut out the Monsoon offense in the second half. Next week will be a tough game vs Trab.Hills & West Co will have to be at their best to get a "W".
OC I apologize for the flake comment, if you look at the predictions thread you will see that I predicted the San Antonio league would win their games,so I did come on here before the game & posted my predictions. I also said that I didn't blame you for coming on here & making the predictions you did because the stats from the OC & Mayfair teams were impressive.
What I called you on were your comments that
West Co got lucky & that South Hills caught Canyon on a bad night, both were lame excuses for your failed predictions & saying that our teams got lucky is not giving props to them but
hey, your entitled to your opinion. As for Mayfair beating West Co if they met again, any thing is possible but I think you say that cause you aren't familiar with West Covina footbal, & you obviously were not at the game, it was a close game but overall West Co looked to be the better of the two, they were stronger in the 4th qtr.
congrats to former Damien QB Nick Davila, who led Cincinnati University to an upset of number 7 ranked Rutgers last night. It was his first start for the team and a memorable one.
Wow, can you link it for me there are lot's of articles about him there.
thanks
Mike the Clone
Check out the Ian Johnson article in ESPN Magazine your favortie Coach "P" is mentioned. A little insite on what he does for "his players" Glad he went to you guys and left our boys alone.
Bluorca,
As much as I enjoy Buck's post, that's the attitude I am dealing with here at "Bagpiper U" I think you call it complacency.
It's as if "Coach P Schottenheimer" is a hypnotist with that gold watch swinging back in forth going in front of these people’s faces going:
"You will like my football coaching, no you will love my football coaching and you will love my staff and my decisions I make on the field. You will not talk bad about me in that mean old blog that Aram Tolegian has started and above all Mike the Clone is a real bad guy tell him to go away he sounds like some of those mean guys from Bishop Amat"
Buck not once have I attacked "Coach P Schottenheimer" personally.
ONCE MORE since some of you don't pay attention...I will say it again. Personally I like him, he is a great guy, His football sense stinks. That's all. It's nothing personal against HIM.
Buck, here is a guy that needs to surround himself around good football people and get him to the next level. Your friend is weak, the athletic department is part of the academic experience and you might want to inform him of that. Or is he one of those guys that just yawns and goes “Oh Well.
Yeah that's what I want around me some one like that......NOT!(sarcasm)
Come on Buck don't you want your kid to achieve and succeed, you know get ahead while learning at the same time?
Buck you can't be that soft or maybe you are.
Oh well you guys at Amat see what I’m up against.
Out!
Mike the Clone
Info please: according to C.I.F both Covina and South Hills host playoff games this friday night at C.D.F. What gives?
Most people did not give Glendora a chance preseason, mid-season or end of season, but they still showed up and played every game with alot of heart. Yeah, I still think (and agree with Mike) that coach"P" needs to have a play card and be in contact with someone picking apart the other teams defense and offense. But, I also think he is very good for the Glendora high school football program and hopefully will be around for a long time there. The kids like him, that's half the battle, he treats his players with respect and gets the most out of his players. I am sure a lot of people will disagree with this statement, "I would rather have a coach and staff who will provide a good high school expierence, be positive role models and be competetive every year, then a coach who is a jerk and wins everything" this is of course, still high school football. You can disagree (and I have) with some of his decisions (play calling) on the field, but there is no one that I know who will call coach"P" a jerk, he has always been a class act when I've been around him. A very good friend of mine put it best when describing why his very athletic kids were at Glendora, "I moved to Glendora for the education system, not the sports programs, they were not very good when I moved here, I just got lucky, it has recently turned out to be a very good football program at a really good academic school." I wish other coaches would follow coach "P's" lead and put the kids first instead of their own personal ambitions.
When this blog started, I was not really sure about this at the high school level, but it has been fun hearing bloggers takes and rants about the schools they support. I am sure some coaches don't like this venue, but hey, it's better than them yelling at you from the stands during the games. Anyways, AT, thanks again, I'll see you next year!
AS ALWAYS, GO GLENDORA!!!!!
BUCK IS OUT
Everyone,
OCFootball brings up a good point. Don't confuse Mayfair as being from the OC. Canyon, the No. 4 seed in the division that was beaten by South Hills, is from the OC. El Dorado, the division's new favorite, is from the OC. The Southwest Division is now from the SGV i.e. five of the final eight teams.
Congrats to the Damien football team. Solid team play. I have not heard much on #2 Ryan McMahon this year. This kid is a big play maker and one of the hardest hitting kids I have seen all year. Damien you better prepare for much of the same type of running game you seen this week but a stronger and faster OL. Damien Dad you are forgetting that Pittman is injured and #59 Wes Galaz has played two great games. Keep playing as a team boys it is fun to watch. Also good luck to all of the local teams still playing.
The last I looked Mayfair had yet to migrate their town to the OC? Check your mail...I'm sending you a map of So Cal. Apparently geography wasn't your best subject?
I also came on here saying i ate crow and I did give props to WestCo and SH. If WestCo played Mayfair again....I would pick Mayfair again. With South Hills getting beat by Rowland and having seen both Rowland and Canyon play....Canyon just seemed to be the logical pick. I said earlier in the week that the Trabuco Hills and Tustin game would be a shoot out...it was! I felt Tustin's offensive running scheme would give teams trouble and it has in previous years, but Trabuco Hills played well enough to hang on. My lower bracket selections are still in tack, my upper bracket is a mess. My opinion is Mayfair overlooked WestCo, the other games were kind of a toss up. Your right, I haven't seen all 16 teams play....who has?? So Dan, don't come on poppin' off like I picked against every SGV team. Let's see you come on here BEFORE the games are played and give us your take!
There are tough games coming this week. CO and SH should be a great game. And before you bust out all the SGV love....you are guaranteed a SBV team in the semis! I think the best game to watch will be El Do and Diamond Ranch. DR was laughed at for their non-league scheduling of powerhouses, but facing those tough teams may have them primed for a match up with El Do. Anything can happen in the game of football....we will see what unfolds.
SGVFOOTBALL,
You guys crack me up, some of your teams won but you act like you won cif already, guys its just round one so don't talk smack until you made it to the finals,a one round and your out looks pretty stupid like westco you scored all your points on special teams what happen to the offense and co you barely beat a team you played already this year, remember luck only carrys you so far all it really is is false hope good luck to all.
Bluorca:
You are correct I have seen teams like Mission Viejo and teams of that caliber. Glendora probably will never get to that level but I just think we can get to the next step in that process. The kids have the desire but it seems out here there is no desire to get there.
Programs like Redlands only prove just how far the bagpiper program must go if they want to step it up. It really is night and day between the two programs.
I will have to say that you "Amat Honks" make me look like I'm throwing cotton balls at the "bagpiper" coaching staff. Heck, I'd fit right in with you guys.
And as far as the tradition thing goes I really never thought of it being that way. Sorry I bad. After further review that stays.
Damien Dad:
I'll take three out of those four. I hope you guys go as far as possible. You know this "bagpiper" is pulling for you guys.
And to both of you guys, thanks for making this blog fun. You both are class acts.
Out!
Mike he Clone
congrats to all the sgv teams!!!! way to show that valley pride!!! southwest conference rocks!!
i was nervous from all smack talk on here and and the papers, but you guys showed them!!! can't wait until next week... we'll be proud again!!! go south hills, wesco,la and d-ranch. can't wait to see the charter choke/ shhs game. lou vs steve, gotta love that stuff!
To all the Saints players and coaches, great job this year. Big game inexperience is what cost us a playoff win, next year will be a different story. I am sure of that, keep your heads up and work hard in the offseason.
SaintB
Hey Mike,
Everything you described from the Redlands team to their coaches is typical of the level of ball that was played in the old top divisions. If Redlands impressed you guys then I encourage you to check out teams like Mission Viejo or Notre Dame. When these two schools play for the Pac-5 championship, you can expect no less than 25,000 people to show up. From top to bottom Notre Dame looks exactly like the university team in both size and talent and the freakin uniforms are identical. That game was a scary disaster man so I know what must have been going through your mind at this unfortunate game.
Now that you have personally witnessed (and others) the level of play and program at Redlands perhaps now more people will understand why Amat fans take their football so seriously. Some will now understand why we freak when we get a new coach or we panic when we dont think the right players are being played. It's also why we talk about tradition all the time and why we are so very critical of our administration's decisions concerning ball. Imagine being in a league with 4 other Redlands...that was the Serra League last year. The Trinity League is at least 2x as strong as last years Serra. Crazy shit huh...."mini-universities."
And speaking of tradition,
No doubt it is very tough to do "hut" drills at the end of a game win or lose but I do think it's a noble thing to do. I think higher of Glendora's program for practicing this...it shows pride and tradition. Servite high school has their own pre and post game drills that they have done for decades. I've never seen Glendora's drills but Servite's include sit-ups, push-ups, etc. Their drills are more of a showcase of discipline, physical fitness, agility, and pride. It's actually a pretty neat thing to watch and they do it flawlessly even when they just got the crap knocked out of them. They are actually known for these drills done in unison and both teams with their supporting fans in the stands cheer them on...win or lose. It's a traditional thing and a Servite game would not be complete without them. Cheers to the Tartans for showing some traditional class!
dats all for now!
Mikey- You are so vague about your feelings. Tell us what you really think, lol. I don't know how big you are or how much football credibility you have but the fact that you're still in one piece amazes me! No kidding. I am not there at Glendora but seems that there are 4 camps:
1)Those that worked out with you over the summer and respect you. (And by extension their families)
2) Those that want you to stop "bashing" (their word), Glendora Football and Coach P.
3) Those that accept your Football background but still want you to it tone down
4) Those that know you're right but are too scared to come to your defense.
Well you're a bold man for not splitting hairs.
You going to the Damien game now that you're OUT!
* You got some hotdogs to buy!
* Pizza Blast should be fun. You're a smart guy(most of the time) what's the best place and what's the best time?
Correction; RaiderMom should read Dan and disregard the Iceman comment.
"The Bulldogs reign over Mayfair" said the Tribune on page 2 ( That's right page 2 !!). Apparently the Los Altos "yawner" vs Rowland was much more worthy of front page coverage than West Covina taking down the undefeated top seed.
The coverage of Prep Football at the SGVTrib. has been pretty good but you turned the ball over this week.
To RaiderMom, nice and accurate post about the game, lets hope the moronic comments by Iceman were just a joke.
And a special congratulations to West Covina DE Santos Montano, making 2 key sacks on critical 3rd down plays. He is certainly worthy of game MVP, along with the incredible Will Wallace and sophomore kicker Thomas Flores. Bring On Trabuco Hills !
Oh yeah, another thing Opposing coaches playing against "Bagpiper U"
There is no reason why you have to cover your mouthes with your game plan cards during time outs and when you send a play in from the sidelines....our coaches have no clue what your doing anyway's and aren't sophisticated enough to know what's going on.

Hmmm... looking back on my predictions:
Mayfair vs. Westco: I was certainly right to hedge this bet. Mayfair is merely a good team, not the powerhouse their rating and some posters made them out to be. The Wing-T incarnation of West Covina, on the other hand, is clearly the real deal. You can almost disregard the first 8 games of their season.
Tustin vs. Trabuco: Apparantly the OC fans had the right of it regarding Tustin's pass defense. Generally teams with little experience against good double-wing teams get clobbered... good on Trabuco for bucking the trend and proving me wrong.
Charter Oak vs La Mirada: Whoa. All I can say is Charter Oak's string of close wins is due to catch up with them. Probably next week. La Mirada certainly has nothing to be ashamed of here.
South Hills vs. Canyon: It ain't week zero anymore, and a healthy South Hills is as much as any team wants to handle. Here's hoping Canyon builds on this year... they're a quality program that rarely attracts the talent of the local name schools.
BTW, the SGV has managed to screw up every prediction for the top bracket I've ever seen. Go us.
Foothill vs. Artesia: Artesia doesn't put up much of a fight, as expected.
Rowland vs. Los Altos: Rowland put up a much tenser, closer fight than the score indicated... on the other hand Los Altos wasn't far from scoring more (they had two TD's called back, one on a holding call where the flag was thrown after the ref saw the kid run into the endzone). LA might have an uphill battle from here, though, the loss of middle linebacker Acosta is a killer, and outside LB Maciel is tackling with only one good arm.
Diamond Ranch vs. Bellflower: After a close dogfight against Bellflower, DR gets to look forward to powerhouse El Dorado. I don't think they have much of a chance, but, in the Panthers favor, we know they aren't going to be intimidated by the matchup.
El Dorado vs. El Toro: The one game that went as I predicted. El Dorado is the team to beat in this division, no doubt.
Thanks to Aram for the score update at the LA-Rowland game.
Bring on round 2.
FANatic,
just for your info there are two "Bleedsblungold" the "Original Bleedsblungold" is the one who has class and make the most sense. You can tell the difference if you pay attention to their post.
One is a "goof ball" the other is a realist.

FANatic dude you and must have seen the same thing as I was walking in during the warm up’s last night I was saying to myself “Uh-OH these kids are huge “corn feed, biscuit eating, pancake loving guy’s. The play FANatic was referring to I think was a “Terrier running back dragged one of our defensive men literally on his ass for at least four yards.
A.T. was way off (sorry A.T.) these guy’s are in a different zone. Granted I have not seen all the SGV’s teams. But from what I saw they would do some damage anywhere. Even give Damien fits. (Sorry Damien Dad)
FANatic did mention something what I was remiss in stating in my earlier rant. When the Tartans did that stupid spell out bullshit stuff that they do at the end of each game. The Redlands team stood behind us and respected us as opponents and applauded us during what I see as one of the most humiliating experiences a team must go through after a loss.
Jim Walker that was a class act. Thank you Jim that said more about you and what you stand for than anything else.
Note to the powers that be at “Bagpiper U quit with that GHS spell out bullshit during losses that is the most humiliating thing I have seen in my whole entire life. I felt bad for those kids with tears running down their faces and who have just busted their Asses and had to stand there in front of everybody and do that.
I bet if you ask most of those kids they just wanted to get on that bus and get the hell out of there.

OK, nevermind, I originally said either South Hills or Covina would play on Thursday, but that's Thanksgiving. Uh, it will probably be one on Friday and one on Saturday.

My thoughts exactly. They should give you a column. See you on the 50

FANatic is back in the house and rudely awaken from hibernation by bleedsblungold.
bleedsblungold, you got to be kidding! Are you still ill from Amat not making it, again, in the playoffs? Get a life man.
HOW CAN YOU POSSIBLY DERIVE FROM MY LAST POSTING THAT SOME HOW I AM "insulting all the southwest teams while getting booted out of the playoffs" Obviously, unlike you, I am a fan of the sport which includes ALL TEAMS.
WOOOOOOOO!I merely commented on the tremendous impact the Redlands Terriors made on me after seeing them play for the first time last night.Take a chill pill and calm down buddy. Amat will come back next year...but I'm seriously worried you may have a coronary and drop before next season begins!
Back to sleep mode!

to all the haters in the IE WE MADE IT PAST ROUND ONE AND HALF OF YOU GUYS ARE AT HOME SO WHAT DOES THAT SAY.
Greetings!
I am Mike the Clone and you are Not!
With that said:
First I want to congratulate the Redland Terriers on their dominance over my “Bagpipers. They were simply bigger, faster, well coached and above all came with a game plan prepared for play-off football. The only thing that is wrong with that team is their concentration level and the stupid penalties they cause themselves. That surprised me from a Jim Walker team from knowing him from before.
A couple of observations, Head coach Walker was wearing a headset, had the game plan card in his hands all the time and was working that card and the prep work on it up until the third quarter which by then the game was over. During his time outs he had the headset on and was utilizing his game card from obvious game video study he had prepared during the week prior to Friday night. The key Redlands staffers all had game plan cards they were carrying. They were all on the same page and their staff was a machine.
The beloved “Coach P Schottenheimer on the other hand during the game paced, looked lost, and had no headset on, had no game card in hand, and obviously didn’t have a game plan except for hand the ball to the “Franchise Jordan Edward. Will someone enlighten the Clone as to what in the world Coach Lawrence and Coach Vaniman are talking about when they have the only pair of headsets on?
The time outs showed the difference between the two coaches. While Walker was doing the things I describe above, The beloved (by some) "Coach P Schottenheimer" during his timeouts sauntered onto the field looked around to make sure he knew where he was, entered the huddle bent over with hands on his knees facing the ground and was probably muttering to himself “Gee I’m really in over my frecking head right now what I’m I going to do so that I save some face and everybody will still be singing Kum-by-Yah at the booster meeting(Those of you who haven't been to a "bagpiper" game this is what he does everytime during timeouts, it would make a great youtube video if anyone get's around to it)
It was plan pitiful to see that, just plain pitiful.
Aram and Reg you had me buying into a win in the first round, I though we would keep it close. But guy’s sorry I have been to every game the last two years. This guy is who he is and nothing more.
Reg, I’ve seen your broadcast and heard the great stuff you do with A.T. and I tend to think you’re a believer in the “Pasquarella regime but Reg I guarantee you the difference in the level of coaching that was going on down on that field was glaring, really glaring. Even the “button wearer’s were grumbling.
You know I just don’t know what more I can say. I am "spent" emotionally with this year of “bagpiper football. I’m frustrated to say the least. I have spent time with these kids who have worked harder than most kids I know and to be told they are underachievers is just plain bullshit. (sorry for the expletive). The excuse we lost so many from last year is non-sense and just stop with it OK! That’s a cop out!
We may not have won last night but we should have kept it somewhat closer than what it was. That score is deceiving; we actually scored one touchdown against their first squad. The rest were gimme’s.
This is where I start with my thanks.
Jordan thanks kid for making it halfway enjoyable to watch this year. You truly are our “Franchise you are not only a gentleman but also a fine example of a student athlete.
“Crookie kid… you were expected to do almost an impossible task with basically losing your whole junior year and coming in full time at game six of this season. Frankly son you basically got screwed out of probably having a good high school career.
Andrew Kluzny you are the future I hope to hell they don’t treat you like they did “Crookie. Take a note on what happened to “Crookie
Sean Blayney your another one that got screwed my these guys son you should have been in there every single defensive series. You’re a “sticker and guys like you get me excited because your not afraid of taking it too someone.
Todd Bruno…son you can come work for me anytime because you give your all out there all the time. You go beyond the giving 100%.
Zach Butler… your all heart son. Plain and simple.
To the boy’s on the defensive and offensive lines, guys you may not be the biggest but the time you put in at the weight room made up for it a majority of the time all year. Your hard work busting your Asses in the trenches did not go unnoticed by the Clone.
I know I’m leaving some of you guys out but I know you all deserve better that what happened to all of you this year. I saw some heads hanging last night. Gentleman you have nothing to be ashamed about. You keep your heads up. Those of us who know the game know what happened this year.
You kid’s delivered the talent at the feet of “Coach P he dropped the ball on you guys. He and his staff should be ashamed of themselves and some of them should step up and resign.
But until then “Bagpiper U “ will remain a “one and done program and "Coach P" will remain the Marty Schottheimer of the San Gabriel Valley and it seems to me most of the “button wearer’s here in Glendora are willing to accept that. I for one just am not willing to accept that.
You “bagpipers deserve better. Seniors, you guy’s will be missed.
Heads up! Be strong! Be proud!
Out and Good Night Now!
Mike the Clone
Dear Fanatic what an absolute joke you are horrible attitude you have if this is how your community feels well then no wonder why they dont get any better or any deeper.
Not only do geagraphical areas have different talent threads but they also have different community attitudes towards all types of things but if you are any measure for your team i.e.your community, insulting all the southwest teams while getting booted out of the playoffs is a cowardly and little boy like thing to do.
How in the hell you you know how anyone would do against anyone else, your picks were wrong all year and you dont even factor in that you are a homer or too dumb to see the obvious, many picked the southwest to be an all S.G.V. conference this year in the begining and how right were you with your picks.
Your school and community got worked by Damien and Damien got worked by Los Altos so what is your logic here Jr, you should just fade away now and stop insulting others because of your pain.
FANatic is in the house!
bluorca,
Seeing the Redlands team during warmups was enough for me to start respecting the Terriors. This team was determined to out score and out perform ALL opponents they may face in CIF...AND THEY CAN CERTAINLY DO IT! Prior to the game, after reading Arams' preview , I like many was farely confident the Tartans would be victorious.
The Terriors are all about physical strength, speed and confidence. No over-weight lineman on this team. They appeared almost Lumberjack in stature. There were absolutly no slackers. This team was so confident they were sometimes antagonistic with their comments to Tartan players during game play. Several personal fouls, holding and face mask calls were called against Redlands throughout the game. They were more intense than any team we have faced.
However, what stood out in my mind last night, is not how over confident they were but, how they really showed great class after the game was over as Terrior players stood as a group within feet of the Tartan players as Glendora performed their "spellout/pride" drill. The Terriors cheered on the Tartans with class as I have not seen in any game prior.
Back to the game. Bluorca, you asked how Damien might compare with Redlands. You were right on, I have not seen another team handle the Tartans like Redlands did. Now, I can say the Tartans played sloopy and didn't perform to their abilities. This was true. But, I can't get over how the Terrior defense prevented the Tartans from staying on the field, let alone produce any forward momentium. I felt after we left the game, it seemed the Tartan offense was barely on the field for 10 plays! Tartan defense played a long and good game, however, the Terrior offense was machine like, their RB's would not go down (sometimes dragging several Tartan defenders)and the passing was precision laser targeted. Almost like playing against a team comprised of "six million dollar men or terminators". Perhaps that why they are now 11-0.
While I beleive Damien is the best Sierra league team this year, I don't think they or any SGV team would do well against this Redlands team, at least not at this late time of the season.
Well, I guess it's time to hibernate until next season. So you won't hear from me for a while. It's been a great season for the Tartans considering they begun the year with almost no experience. We will have a great team next year as this years strong and experienced JR's will be returning. There will also be some great talent coming up to varisity. Hopefuly, next year will see us winning league.
Thanks Aram for a great forum to express our opinons and let off some steam!
So long until next year!
FANatic has gone into hibernation (sleep mode)
Another note on West Co's win, they beat Mayfair without Demond Wallace, as he was injured & did not dress up for the game, can you imagine how good they would be if they had him & Tyler Hockenhull along with the switch to their
old offense.
Bluorca you crack me up,
You just won't give the San Antonio its due.
Your comments on Mayfair & Canyon that they suck & are overrated are a joke & you only have that opinion cause they were beaten by West Co & South Hills. Mayfair is as good as their hype & should have had the #2 rating with El Dorado as the #1. Most people familiar with the Southwest teams figured that Mayfair & El Dorado were the teams to beat going in to the playoffs & rightly so. The only problem was they wern't aware that
West Covina, South Hills, Los Altos, & C.Oak have stepped up their level of play big time in these last few weeks & are much better teams now. Any one of these teams at this time of the season can be considered as the best team in the valley along with Damien, at this time its a toss up. My point is that our D6 [southwest]teams
are good enough to do what they did, it wasn't luck or it wasn't that Mayfair or Canyon were overrated its just that we are that good at this time & have legit shots to take this tough division. I still favor El Dorado, but its no guarantee & it won't be a cakewalk for whoever wins this thing.
PS: your quote on the inland div.of "Ahhhhhh...A tougher division with better teams and therefore a more exciting and worthy division in my opinion"
That seemed like another cheapshot & attempt to
belittle the Southwest div. & to downgrade the accomplishments of the teams in that division.
The Inland may be a little tougher than the Southwest but thats only because of Corona Centennial & Norco, take those teams out & the divisions are pretty close, & by no means is that division more worthy or exciting then the Southwest, each is worthy & exciting in its own way, & to Southwest fans the inland will never be more worthy or exciting than the Southwest.
Come on out & watch a West Co game, you won't be disapointed. you will see a lot of heart & intensity, & hard hitting physical play.
Running your Mouth
Great Post! Some morons just dont realize how important league is!
Just Play
That a good name for you! Maybe you should just play and make the playoffs and quit giving the valley your sorry a-- excuses.
When you don't finish 1, 2, or 3, and are the fourth team, you go home. So, dont think you finished tied for second.(LOL) You went home! End of story, ENOUGH SAID
Maybe your cry baby coach will schedule a better pre-season so you'll be ready for league. Co, LA, Dr will kick your butt next year because your team is done and reloading.
You said it right Vanner, OC football Quit being a flake, you saw won loss records & stats & without knowing sgv football you came on here &
boasted how the OC teams were going to run all over the sgv, I don't blame you for that cause the stats & comparative scores were impressive
for the OC & Mayfair teams.
What cracks me up is that now that the San Antonio league took out your #1 & 3 rated teams the flake in you comes out & you start making excuses for your teams instead of acknowledging
that the winning teams are just better. Both South Hills & West Covina have stepped up their level of play these last few weeks along with Charter Oak & Los Altos & have become good enough to do what they did. There was no luck involved, it was just stellar performances by good teams, your teams down there were not overrated, they are very good teams, its just that the teams up here are starting to play to their potential, so be a man & give us some credit will you.
san dimass fan(player), you are a moron, bohi finish second with dr and la, but a coin toss was the way it ended, I know you play for sd with the stupid comments like that. sd has the softest league and you still barely made it in. Now, go hit the weightroom for next year and maybe you might have chance. Good job to DR, LA and CO game wins, rep'n the tough miramonte league.
OC football fan,
Your right The Huskies caught the comanches on the right night "GAME NIGHT" ! What you didn't read in the paper was the 22 play opening drive! ate up 11 minutes ! or how we shut down their powerful? run game. all they had was a lucky and desperate deep pass game. You were right when you said they were a good team but what you don't realize and probably never will is THE HUSKIES ARE WAY BETTER! So realize the only inconsistency coming out of O.C. is how good you guys think your teams are. Check out OCvarsity.com all their 10 or so picks chose Canyon! But hey you guys live next to Disneyland so I understand how the fantasy part rubs off down there.
How's that Bowden. he he.
I've got a ton of things I want to say to OCFan but I'll keep my opinion to myself.
For all of you that doubted the Huskies I told you there was plenty of fight left in those dawgs. O-Line way to step up hell of a job. Defense you guys put it all together and made a stand when you had to. Awesome
So I woke up....grabbed the paper and immediately busted out my barbeque. My question is....should i prepare my crow with a hint of honey bbq sauce or do you guys recommend herbs and spices?
WestCo....great win, but as the old saying goes, a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in awhile.
South Hills...nice job. Canyon can be a tough team but they can also show to be very inconsistent. You caught them on the right night. A win is a win though.
Rowland....a team full of some very good athletes, but the team is undesized overall. You faced a big athletic football team. Your accomplishments this year is well respected. Don't hang your head.
BOFan
You went home again this year for the playoffs!
Take care of your league as designed by CIF and maybe you will make the playoffs some day.LOL
With all the Seniors gone next year, dont see you beating CO, LA, DR, next year either!
We'll see next year about the Pot!
For the stupid San Dimas fan that said they were in the playoffs and Bonita wasn't. I think we all know that is because of your powder puff league except for Covina. Bonita showed who the better team was when they manhandled San Dimas in the smudge pot. Maybe you guys can win at basketball now that Brock is gone.

Well, since VV league was shut out in this blog I thought I'd chime in anyway...
Congrats to the Covina Colts and their first round win last night. I'd also like to give a hats off to Baldwin Park and San Dimas for giving their all and going down swinging. In particular I would like to acknowledge the San Dimas parents and fans for their dedication and show of support with their trek up to Morrow Bay.
Congrats to ALL SGV teams that are moving on and a special "Way to Go!" to West Covina for their impressive win over Mayfair last night.
RESPECT TO THE SGV!
SouthWest Division...
West Covina/Mayfair, South Hills/Canyon
These are HUGE wins for both the Bulldogs and the Huskies. I don't think the CIF will mess up seedings next year and they will definitely respect the SGV more. WOW!....Talk about a major screw up by the CIF in over seeding these teams. I bought into the hype of Mayfair and Canyon never hearing of these schools nor any of the teams they play. But now I know one thing for sure.....MAN DO THEY SUCK! HAHAHAAA! THE ENTIRE SUBURBAN LEAGUE LOST LAST NIGHT (4 TEAMS!)...What an absolute joke. I should have just stuck to the L.A. Times which had neither Mayfair or Canyon ranked. Perhaps they knew something about these two teams that everyone, including the CIF, did not know. WC has a tougher game next week vs. Trabuco Hills but they are definitely beatable. Charter Oak should take care of South Hills next week as well so we could see an all SGV semifinal in the upper bracket.
Los Altos/Rowland
No offense to any SGV team but it appears that the real strength of this division is in the lower bracket. Los Altos manhandles Rowland as expected. It will be a lot more quiet around this blog for obvious reasons. The Los Altos/Foothill game should be a good and close one but I'm favoring Foothill. It really does not matter because El Dorado (LAT #18) is going to win the lower bracket and probably this division. This El Dorado team has already destroyed Canyon 35-0 and Tustin 42-27. To give a bit more perspective, Tustin killed Western 35-14. So even if LA finds a way to defeat Foothill, they will face a monumental task in El Dorado.
Revised Prediction for Final...
West Covina vs. El Dorado
INLAND DIVISION
Ahhhhhh...A tougher division with better teams and therefore a more exciting and worthy division in my opinion.
Glendora/Redlands
This was a HUGE eye opener for many around the SGV. No one handled Glendora this season, including Damien, the way Redlands did. Redlands had like 4 turnovers too. They had one TD called back and they were about to score in the redzone when Coach Jim Walker pulled his starters out to avoid running up the score. If Walker had left his starters in the score could have potentially been 47-7 or worse. But...there is absolutely no shame in losing to Walker's Terriers guys. Remember that Redlands has been playing againts Div. 1 schools for years even though Redlands has a terrible record againts other Div. 1 schools in the playoffs. Playing againts some of the best football programs in So. Cal pays off eventually...especially if you are "demoted" from Div-1(Pac-5). I honestly don't think any other team in the SGV will be able to score on this Redlands defense. I would love to hear some Glendora fans compare Redlands with Damien...
Damien/Carter
Expected? yes. Should Damien be worried that this game was closer than expected? A little but not really. Temescal Canyon is 5x better than Carter though and they themselves had a huge upset win over Los Osos. Something tells me that Vista Murrieta is another one of the CIF's overrated teams just like Mayfair and Canyon. But if they aren't then Temescal Canyon should be a tough opponent for the Spartans because Temescal only lost by a couple of points to Vista Murrieta. If only Damien did not have to face Corona Centennial..
Revised Prediction For Final...
Corona Centennial vs. Redlands
Other Scores...Actually Pac-5!
SO Notre Dame 45, Dana Hills 0
Long Beach Poly 10, Mater Dei 0 (see ya Monarchs!)
Orange Lutheran 49, San Clemente 20
Compton 27, Esperanza 20 (HUGE UPSET!!!)
Mission Viejo 44, Los Alamitos 7
Santa Margarita 49, Lakewood 23
Edison 35, Crespi 13 (SURPRISING ROUT!)
Servite 46, LB Wilson 7
Prediction for Final...
Stays the same for me...no one will be able to beat either SO Notre Dame or Mission Viejo. That game is going to be AWESOME!!! The winner of this game is going to the state Championships guaranteed!
LA way to go, great complete game. I have said for a few weeks now that Gano needed to get the ball in the hands of #84 about 15 times not the customary 2-5 times and he got close to it. Was he waiting so this kid could explode during the playoffs, he has been around a whille and this is the time of year that he works best. The OL did a great job of creating a pocket for Casteneda and he did a great job. I still say that Rex Foss is the top receiver in the valley, give hims 4-6 inches and he is a top recruit, what a pair of hands and can he take a hit. Ira Thomas, the best game of the year, he ran like a man and hit the hole and was not afraid to deliver a hit.
Rowland Students, Fans and Parents
I was sad to see the limited amount of people in the stands especially for an 8-2 team. Your stands were not even 1/3 full and take away the band less than 1/4 full. If you are to build on this season you need to start filling the stands. Good luck next year, you have talent in the area now put it to use.
raider mom, why would you write that about your kid, and embarass him in front of his teammates, he is probably going to get beat up at school on monday, and i think he'll get mad at you......

Great Season J2 and the rest of the SAINTS.

Alhambra 28 Orange 14
3)Damien comes to play and the Spartans win again.
Damien 26 Carter 14
What a great win for the Damien football TEAM. Carter was tough and a very good team that never gave up. I've said it before, this team still hasn't played a complete game and it's best football YET! And that's scary!
Prop List:
Biggest props to "DT Justin Luiten".
This kid worked his ass off during the off season with one hope- to start his senior year! He has developed into the best DT in the Sierra League. I have not seen a better one this season. Big, strong, great engine and still raw(6'5" 285), imagine what another year would have meant to this kid! Any recruiters who haven't seen him get film- He's a sleeper with tremendous upside and a great individual! And no I'm NOT related!
DE's Rabe and Walsh: What can you say? If they were down in a four man line and in 3 technique all year this team is UNDEFEATED! Case closed! End of story! But they should get alot of attention when the season is over if that's any consolation. Great, great , great DEs (6'5 275 & 6'6" 250)just come to play EVERY PLAY.
Mark Mendrun- absolutely insane scramble and throw off the bad snap into the endzone and clutch throw to Travis for 1st down! This kid puts on a clinic in leadership and "cool" every game. What an honor to see him play and develop.
Jeff Lucero- Said it before, This kid MAKES 5 to 6 great plays a game! 2TDs, fantastic play to stop RB at the 2 after an apparent TD from a 50 yd sprint (even though it was called back for holding), great catches, interceptions, Hits like John Lych !This kid is S.P.E.C.I.A.L !
Taylor Herrera- It's simple- Speed kills--- those who don't have it! Skinny city! Great catches! He's only a Soph. and will only get better!
O-Line- Bubba's Boys are now Bubba's MEN! They NEVER get enough credit in my book! But hey, that's the life! De La Torre, Smitty, Murrillo, Pittman, Turner, Hernandez make Marine and Williams go!
Overall a great team effort that merits many, many more mentions but the key is everyone plays like a TEAM and practices with incredible intensity. Keep up the hard work!
Hope you heal Brian Gomez the team needs you. Best game I've seen you play yet! Bringing the wood all night!
On to Round 2!
Workman 14
Bishop Diego 42
Workman just played catch up and just could not get back into this one. But great season Lobos, now it is time to grow even bigger! Workman in 2007!
way to go bulldogs.....
being a USC fan, i'm quite dissapointed in seeing marc tyler go down. what a sad way to end a hs career....
but i think they will be fine since they still have marshall jones (another USC committ but as a DB) carrying the rock. fact is OC is so deep that they prolly lose a couple more guys (not trying to wish injuries on them or anyone for that matter) and still not have too big of a drop off.
The worst part of the Rowland& Los Altos game, was the so called fans leaving at the start of the fourth quarter. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves! We sit through your kids playing in the band and we cheer for them, as well as your girls doing their little rah rah rah stuff, the least you could do is show our sons some respect, and stay until the end of the game. That's what disappointed me more than anything, grown ups giving up on a team that was trying not to give up themselves. Since this is my last post, I have to say my son, number 59, Jon Couwenhoven always plays his heart out, plays the whole game and gets little recognition, here's to you Jon...we are so proud of you and will be there in the stands next year....
WEST COVINA 19 MAYFAIR 16 !!!
Wow I'm speechless, Bulldogs take down the #1 seed!
Aram you missed an amazing game, I told you you should have had West Co vs Mayfair on you video game of the week.
The Bulldogs are pure heart & never gave up.
William Wallace takes the opening kickoff & jukes his way to what appeared to be a TD but he stepped out of bounds at about the Mayfair 25 or 30. It didn't matter cause they drive it in for the TD anyways. The Bulldogs try to catch Mayfair off guard & try an onside kick but Mayfair gets the ball around their 40 & make a nice drive to tie it up on a nice run by their outstanding tail back Curtis Bedgood. Mayfair holds West Co on the next series & drives inside West Co's 10 but the Bulldogs make a great goaline stand & Mayfair settles for a field goal
& go up 10 to 7.
The score stayed that way till the 4th qtr as both teams made several stellar defensive stands. In the 4th qtr West Co makes a nice drive with some key plays for big first downs & get down inside the ten close enough to tie the game with a field goal.
Hears where it gets wild. After West Co kicks the tying field goal with 4+ minutes left in the game, on the ensuing kickoff, Mayfair's Will Robinson recieves the ball & returns it 97 yards
for a TD.,as you can imagine our hearts sunk.
They miss the extra point, then kickoff to West Co.'s William Wallace & he makes a beautiful 99 yard return for a TD & West Co ties it up 16 to 16 on back to back kick off returns by both teams! West Co missed the extra point so the score remains 16 all.
West Co then kicked off & made a great defensive stand to force Mayfair to punt, & Will
Wallace makes another nice 20 yrd return to about mid field with a little over 2 minutes left in the game. They make a nice drive that included a clutch reception by Nick Field for a big first down play, then George Munoz made another big first down on a 10 to 12 yrd run which got West Co in field goal range. Sophmore kicker Thomas Flores needed to make a 38 yrd
field goal & all the pressure was on him as there was only 3 seconds left in the game, But he's been down this road before & even 3 time outs by Mayfair to try to "freeze" the sophmore kicker didn't faze the kid as he kicks the game winning field goal. I give props to Maiyfair as they were every bit as good as their #1 ranking, their "D" was stellar and the offense was explosive at times.
Great win for los altos and i wish you the best the rest of the way,as for rowland most of you guys played your asses off some of you didnt quit the whole game and some of you quit a couple weeks ago you no who you are.Loa altos coaches did a outstanding job preparing there kids for the game as for rowland coaches what can i say it is what it is and thats pretty much all i have to say im tried and done, but i well say coach synder you had a pretty good first year 8-3 to bad it didnt turn out better but oh well.
Congrats to sh and westco
South Hills 21 Canyon 14 - Another Orange County team falls victim to the Huskies. The Huskies set the tone early in this one with an awesome display of ball control and composure. They take the opening kickoff and move ever so slowly down the field, completing several 3rd down conversions. The drive consumes an amazing 10:59. The Canyon of Anaheim varsity crowd stands in stunned silence as their offense finally comes on the field with 54 seconds left in the 1st quarter. The Huskies should have dominated this game, but some shoddy coverage by the defensive secondary kept Canyon in the game by allowing one big pass play after another. SHHS must work on eliminating the offensive penalties if they want to play past Thanksgiving. Good luck SHHS!
Ruff Ruff
Thanks!
I did pick LA to win but not like that. I did Want Rowland to beat them because of the talent level at LA it would have been huge and The Raiders would have had a eartquake SGV football statement. In the end the Raiders did get their respect. Look how huge this game was, It dominated this blog! Hell I wished I coulda been there. You guys have a program to be proud of.
Atolegian and Aram, You both are so right, Rowland played a Los Altos team that would definatly beat any of the top seeds in this division. They got a tough draw. Not only that but the reputation of the coaches that you named above was a big difference. Los Altos got the ball first and drove 80 yards and scored. Rowland got the ball and drove to the 25 yard line of LA with a 4th and 5 and guess what? A delay of game penalty made it 4th and 10. They throw it into the end zone deep, incomplete. Early turning point in the game. Los Altos scored again. Rowland is down 14 early. The defense in the first half Chad Norys and Philip Chase, top 2 players on Defense. Coaches had them both playing 15 yards off the ball as safety's. They were involved in every tackle, 5-10 yards from the line of scrimmage.
I give Los Altos credit, but Rowland should have been able to play with them. Once again Rowland coaches, you should call this "The Lost Season", in fact the only person in the stands that doesn't agree with me is 8-3 or Edu. You know who you are and we know who you are and say hello to your Dad. The Head Coach for us.
#4, #2, #6, #50, #56, #11, #8, #7, #86, #23, the fullback and all of the other Seniors. I've enjoyed watching you all play for the last 4 years. You are great kids with alot of heart. Also Good Luck to the Sophmores and Juniors on the team in the coming years.
This is Tommy T signing out for good. GO LOS ALTOS (alma mater) !!!!! at least we will have lost to the Champions..................OUT!!!!!!!!!
DHIGH, Congrats on a win. Not sure about your "classy" comment and then a snub and rub on the Tarts. Oh well, you get bragging rights THIS year at the basketball game (wonder how that's gonna turn out?). We drove way the heck Inland and got our butts spanked outta the gate and had to make the long, sad trip home. That's football and that's why they were seeded and we were not, I guess. We were a good team this year, not a great one. Redlands is better than I expected (or did we just make them look that way?). Our best weapons on offense just couldn't get going...their D was rough. Ranked No. 21 by the Times? I thought it was too lofty, but maybe not. Good luck to DHS at Temescal...better play better than it sounds like you did tonight. Southwest boys, Covina, Duarte nice work tonight. Keep it up next week.
Our boys, you played hard and fought like champs all season long. You showed there WAS talent coming back this year and achieved more than many thought you would. Seniors, I enjoyed watching you play and improve. Juniors & the rest, work hard in the offseason because you've got a chance to be awesome next year.
I'm out...done...over...finished.............did I just hear a 3 ball drop through the net?
Wow, DHIGH I can't believe you bash the tartans the entire paragraph and then say come see a "CLASSY" Damien team play?? Way to show everybody why Glendora hates Damien.
It's unfortunate about Marc Tyler, however the final was 70 - 6, I really don't think OC is one dimensional.
vanner...
yes the game was over by half time...the score was 21-0. Rowland tried to make a run and to make it 21-10..but Los Altos RB Ira Thomas was just running all over us..the players were heartbroken after the game.. but i give it up to #4 Chad Norys.. he played his ass off out there..left everything out on the field.. and so did #6 Philip Chase.. he had a great game on Defense..but ill give it up to LA.. they came in ready to play.. their was some hard hitting out there all game..good game to them, and good game to Rowland... now lets have WestCo or Southills bring it home for the San Antonio league....great wins for them...
ROWLAND BABY!!!!
Aram
how was the La Rowland environment & crowd ? was it really over by half?
Diamond Ranch pulled one right outta there butts in OT against a Bellflower team that would not quit!...40-34 was the final....DR was up 21-10 at the half, up 28-10 early in the 3rd qtr when Bellflower erupted with 24 pts to come back and tie things up late in the 4th,.....DR had to many weapons in the end for the Bucs but what a game that turned out to be---Aubrey Haynes going in from the 1 yrd line to finish BHS off, after the DR defense forced BLF to turn the ball over on downs on their first posession in OT, way to go DRHS!......
Me and my spartans had a good night we didnt play that good and we still won 26-14. Los osos lost so we play at temescal canyon and last but not least those trash talking, whining baby tartans lose. Have fun at home and if ur saying wait til next year this same thing will happen again. Thats all glendora does is talk trash and they cant back it up. They did it before they played us and we beat them and they thought they could beat redlands, not as fast. Have fun at home and come and watch what a good and classy team looks like and they will be on the visitors side at termescal canyon. Ghigh aint nothin,Go Spartans!!
Does the loss of marc tylor hurt OC or are they still heavy favorites? :X
Ladies and gents,
I hope you all realize what the SGV teams in the Southwest Division accomplished tonight.
West Covina showed why I ranked them No. 1 at the start of the season by downing the UNDEFEATED NO. 1 SEED!
South Hills was 5-5 going into tonight's game and downed SEEDED CANYON.
CIF, Orange County and the Suburban League vastly underestimated the SGV leagues of the Miramonte and San Antonio.
You cannot slight programs like CO, Los Altos, South Hills and West Covina. They all have CIF titles this decade and coaches that absolutely punish you for making them underdogs. I'm sorry, but I think even people around here don't realize the genius of these coaching staffs. They're some of the best around and now you can see why.
Mike the Clone has no comment at this time!
WELL ,TALKING ABOUT TRADITION..BAGPIPERS ARE LIVING UP TO IT ...ONE AND DONE ,TURN IN YOUR EQUIPMENT ON MONDAY, AND QUIT TALKING ABOUT HOW STRONG YOU ARE AND HAVING A TOUGH PRESEASON,ALOT OF GOOD IT DID YOU.SIT DOWN, SHUT UP AND GO WATCH SOME OTHER TEAM PLAY NEXT FRIDAY!!!!!
way to go SGV the O.C is reeling tonight! The Huskies shut down the Comanches!
YAAA! West Co. great job.
AT
I was driving the "speed limit" back and forth between Carter/Damien and La Mirada/Charter Oak shooting highlights. I was at the first half of the Damien game and was pretty impressed as I got to see the Mendrun to Lucero connection hook up for 2 TD's. Travis Eschardies broke and set a record for recieving. De Jon Miller missed a field goal in the first half from the left side. (I swear from where I was standing under the goal posts it was good).
At halftime I drove the "speed limit" over to Chargers Stadium (soon to be named 'Farrar Field') and got there just soon enough to catch the beginning of the 4th quarter and another Chris Allen to Michael Johnson TD Bomb. As a matter of fact just as I got on the field the ball was in the air...... (MJ and Chris Allen took co-player of the game honors) In a game similar to when Damien beat Chino Hills last Friday, La Mirada was driving and had the ball inside the 5 with seconds remaining on the clock. Except this time the QB threw an interception right to Michael Johnson and that was the ballgame. It was an exciting night for local teams as both Charter Oak and Damien advance!
Sorry to hear about the Tartans.
Question for you AT.....
What was the biggest surprise of Friday Night?

OMG!! what a game. CO wins it with an interception by Michael Johnson at the goal line with 4.5 seconds left in the game. Props to La Mirada, a completely different team on the field this time. It could have gone either way the whole game.
What a great win by Los Altos, this game was over by halftime. The score could have been much worse if it wasn't for many mistakes n sum penalties. Good try by Rowland, but they were simply outmatched and overpowered. 2nd Round here we come.
Good Job LA !!!
rowland lost tonight and what a complete upset. a loss is a loss no matter whos fault it is. so im very happy that south hills and west co advanced. im rootin for you guys.
rowland raiders all the way baby.
Tonight Monrovia won 52-8 against Azusa. It wasn't much of a game. Only reason Azusa scored is because we put our freshman and jv players in the fourth quarter.
Lets see what happens next week when we face La Salle at home
CO comes back agin and now we gete South Hills...can't wait until next week.
Way to go Los Altos! now maybe Rowland can sit down and shut up.
Way to go West Covina! I new you were better than you recoed!
Glendor...Ha Ha Ha. One and done AGAIN!
