Amat/Notre Dame

I've been reading about this Notre Dame team all season long. They are the Pac-5's #1 team. The LAT has them at #3 behind Orange Lutheran. Orange Lutheran lost to Servite so it really makes no sense to me how Orange Lutheran can be ranked higher than Notre Dame. They should be #2 behind Oak's Christian.

Most of the time, I am no fool. I have no delusions about Amat winning this game. Amat is in no shape or form to be able to compete in this game. Unless Notre Dame plays awfully, this game is going to be a gigantic rout of our Lancers. And it pains me to admit this but no one can blame me after witnessing what Crespi did to Amat last week. Despite the odds, anything is possible however improbable. I hope that at the very least, the game is closer than everyone is predicting..including myself. I am no pessimist...just a realist.

The administation, alumni, boosters, etc. need to pay careful attention to SO Notre Dame. This is the caliber of team that Amat needs to aim for. This is the type of team and football program that Amat must strive to achieve if Amat is ever going to win another division championship. In the near or not so near future, when any decisions are made by the administation or the coaching staff...they must remember this Notre Dame game! They must ask themselves, "If I make this decision in the offseason, will this help the football program at Amat compete and beat teams like Notre Dame and Mission Viejo?". Tonight more than any night will be an excellent measure of Amat's program in comparison to the best football program in the Pac-5. Tonight, some very important lessons by the Amat AD and coaching staff will be learned.

I hate to do this but with the shape Amat is in right now...

SO Notre Dame 56, Amat 10

~If by some miracle Amat did win, it would be one of the biggest upsets in Amat history and probably all of southern california...Do you believe in miracles? I DO!!!

BEST OF LUCK AND HEALTH TONIGHT LANCERS!!! GIVE YOUR ABSOLUTE BEST AND YOU WILL MAKE US PROUD!!!

COACH SPOONER
The freshmen d-coordinator, Coach Spooner, is loved by everybody. Players would run thru a brick wall for him. He can scheme with ther best of them. Unfortunately, Spoon doesn't give a darn about what parents or administrators think. He plays those who deserve to play. He does not get involved with the politics that are quite evident at AMAT. He would never be approved as a head coach, although he would make a great one. He should be thge Varsity D-Coordinator.

BB&G,
Hope you are right. This is the only thing that can save this Season and Verti's Staff. My understanding is lots of player pulling out of this game due to illness and injuries???Hmmmm? wonder if some have given up and do not want to be out there taking a beating tonite...sounds like some have quit on the coaches already....I will still show to show my support..WIN or Lose I am still proud of our MTWTBAG this year....this would be a huge upset but I dont see it happening...........I just want us to keep it close and competitive.....We are still breathing anything can happen......In the name of the father the son and the holy sprit!

Just the facts, if bishop wins this guy gets a pass for three years, if they loose there is a great "D" coordinator down at fresmen level that all kids love and respect, and possibly help get them back on track, every kid in last 10 yrs love this guy including my own kids he's the one coach people would run to the school to play for, wake up somone at school and give this guy a chance before he boots and then we really start to go down toilet.

Note to all the want to be C.I.F. contenders out there the real season is getting close, some of you folks need to take lesson from diamond ranch here and stop whining and start getting real teams to play, sure they dont have the numbers but they are going to do damage in playoffs and I dont think they are going out in first round.

Amat vs. Notre Dame.

There is no way this game stays close. I'm not a Verti basher, I think he's going to turn into a good coach one day and you can't fault him for being young and inexperienced and still trying to find his way, but this Notre Dame team is just too talented and experienced. Add in the fact that it's homecoming for ND and I see them beating Amat 49-10.

OH WAIT, that just happened...

talk about fumble city. on both sides of the ball too. the only reason Covina jumped up so fast was because SD must have fumbled like 5 times in the first quarter. SD came back fighting in the 2nd half, but by then it was too late...

As for the AMAT vs. Notre Dame game, i'm gonna have to go with Notre Dame in this one. they are 8-0, they have killed Loyola and St. Paul, and they are just that damn good. AMAT has alot of injuries right now and this is going to be a fight of wills, not talent. BUT, if AMAT's defense steps up, it could stay close.

AMAT 21
Notre Dame 31

why do u guys think that Wilson is going to actually stay up with Rowland? Have you guys seen the games? Rowland has only been in two close games this whole season and they are planning to keep it that way. a 7-13 upset ? forreals? Rowland has been averaging 40+ points a game almost.

"Are you serious",

the 4 returning Damien starters you mentioned are the play makers! What more do you need to win games.

i would say that is a bad comparison to Glendora who lost starters in all the skill positions. I don't feel the least bit sorry for you.

"Are you serious?", Are you serious?

You just named Damiens most valuable players!

Don't count your chickens before they are hatched.

I predict the Tartans will rise to the occassion and do as well IF NOT BETTER than Damien in CIF.

I do agree, Damien has an excellent team this year and will finish 1st in league. You should be thrilled after last years 4th place performance.

Damien is in a so called rebuilding year if u put it that way. Damien has 4 returning starters from last year: Hile, Harper, Eschardies, and Mendrun, and thats on both sides of the ball. Don't cry about a rebuilding year, Damien was the team with the "question mark" defense and has risen to greatness. Glendora has underachieved. One-and-done post season run.

Charter Oak over Diamond Ranch 21-13.

Diamond Ranches running game will have some success, however, Charter Oaks defense will prove to be to strong. Charter Oaks offense will need to put together sustained drives, which will keep the Panthers offense off the field. More touches for Michael Johnson on offense and if Charter Oak uses the speed of Snowden at running back more often, they should be able to keep the Panther defense off balance. The key to this game will be special teams. The Chargers can not allow big plays on punt and kickoff returns.

Aram,

A lot of "anti-Tartan" posters on this blog don't realize Glendora has had to "re-build" the team after losing so many outstanding seniors/starters from last years team. Even with a re-building year, the Tartans have posted a impressive record against a very difficult schedule.

Aram, out of curiosity, do you know of any other Sierra league team or any league team for that matter, that had lost, as you put it for Glendora, their top passer, top receiver, top tackler, top rusher, etc.. and still post an impressive record with a difficult schedule?

Please enlighten us oh mighty one!
