Hey Duarte, here comes 276 yards per game of Love-lle!

Lavelle Peterson and LC head east on the 210 tomorrow night for an SGV showdown in Duarte

If the El Do - DR game was at El Do, I would say El Do by 2 touchdowns. But I think DR being at home changes the game. This is gonna be a tough fought game....I'll stick with the Hawks by a field goal.

Outstanding job to all of the SGV schools who went to battle last night.

For me, humble apologies to the Falcons and the Huskies, how could I have ever doubted you guys? Well, I know how I did it, but it won't happen again; especially you Coach Bogan.

Now two questions:

6-2 for round one, how did everyone else do?

Huskies and the Chargers next week. Is that a classic or what?

District Stadium, be there or learn to live with yourself. Just don't spend the next 20 years telling folks about the game when you didn't attend.

ALSO,

I'm marinating 12 whole Crows in my own secret
blend of spices and sauces. Of course, when you are forced to eat crow, you have to eat the feathers too. Otherwise, it's just chicken thats a bit too gamey. Lucky for all of the potential crow eaters I've made a Ceasar feather salad as a side dish. Now I just gotta figure out how many guests I have coming over later tonight....hmmmm......

Here's to an upset weekend and Crow eating buffet! (INCLUDING MYSELF!)

Best of Luck to all SGV teams tonight!!!!

GO TARTANS!!!
GO SPARTANS!!!
GO CONQUERORS!!!
GO BULLDOGS!!!
GO CHARGERS!!!
GO HUSKIES!!!
GO RAIDERS!!!
GO BRAVES!!!
GO DONS!!!

I can appreciate good fan support but I think it would be a mistake to compare Rowland with Mayfair. They are as different as chalk and cheedar. West Covina will need to play a flawless game if they are to hang with Mayfair. Forget about the Rowland game...there is nothing from that game that applies to Mayfair.

Clone my man,

Let your heart speak! Tartans are ready for Redlands. With the exception of a key injury, Tartans will play at their best tonight. Look for an explosive 1st qtr with Tartans leading in the first half by 14 points. Tartan defense is now at full strength, expect the thumb screws to tighten up limiting Redlands offense to very short total yardage.

This will be a big win for Glendora.

Many crow eaters on this blog tonight!

FANatic has left the blog and will be leaving early for U of Redlands to get a good seat!

VAN EARL SMACK is my man. I am a Rowland student and even if San Antonio had a 3-way loss to tie for league champs, I honestly say best of luck to South Hills and West Co. If Rowland doesn't make it at least one of you guys must make it. Good luck to San Antonio League.

Less then 12 hours to kick-off everyone.....

Let's get ready to Rumble!!!

Prediction - It appears Los Altos has regrouped the last two games and may have a bit more momentum going in tonights game. I heard thru the grapevine that Rowland had one of their best practice weeks of the year. If they can bring the intensity and work ethic that resembled the first half of the season, it will be a anyones game. But remember, Los Altos went thru a loosing streak and if they don't bring their A-Game, that opens the door for the Raiders. I beleive the real key to this game is the Rowland-D'. They need to cover their assignments and commuicate. Final Prediction: Rowland 24 - Los Altos 21......Leonard kicks a game winning field in the last minute......

Next Prediction: West Covina was very tough on the D-Line and if they control the trenches, that forces Mayfair to Pass. They had real good coverage against Rowland and frustrated their QB all night. They can't give up the deep pass, and if their offense is on, then there will be an upset. Final Prediction: West Covina 31 - Mayfair 28......West Covina lost a coin flip, could have easily played Los Altos instead.

Next Prediction: I watched a very impressive South Hills QB pick a part the Rowland D'. This young man definitely had poise and the ability to see the entire field. If not for a crucial pick by Rowland, then the Huskies may have won that game....but good D's make big plays, and Rowland made a big play. If the South Hills QB has time, he will deliver. Canyon will provide a test and should be a tough game. Final Prediction: South Hills 28 - Canyon 17.....South Hills QB to much to handle for Canyon

Those are my three Predicitons. Rowland, South Hills & West Covina played tough football thru out the season. They are three equal teams who had their share of ups and downs, but I believe they will all move on to the second round. GOOD LUCK TO ALL THREE!!

Van Earl wishes you a pleasant evening. Enjoy the Games! I'm Out!

Early Game Prediction #1:

A lot of football players will bleed and cry before this night is over. Some will cry because they won and others will cry because they lost. There is NO shame in either. Football is a passionate game. Stay healthy. Leave it all on the field. Have no regrets. Every play counts and one play doesn't win or lose a game. Teams win and lose as a team, never forget that!

Early Game Prediction #2:

Bloggers Pizza Blast becomes an annual event and the Blog becomes more civil. Maybe one year Aram writes about our "Bloggers Special Player of the Year Award" and "Best Assistant Coach of the Year Award". Hey it all starts with an idea.

Early Game Prediction #3:

Aram decides to wear a "BLOGGERS RULE" T-SHIRT ...on the air! And Top Brass back up a truck of $$$$ and give Aram a page a day in the Tribune. One whole page of high school sports every day! Follow the $$$$ and prep sports equal loyalty!

Thanks Aram for the forum. Sorry about the Damien drama when that took place but hey like my former Coach Gilbert Ruedaflores used to say, "Are you hurt or are you injured? If you're injured you can't get up. If you're hurt...Get your ASS UP!" Well I'm still standing!

Don said:

As I said below:

Covina over Nordhoff: 24-14, Colts will work the kids from Ojai over, McDonough will have a better game on D than with the ball

Los Altos over Rowland: Gano and the playoffs, Los Altos by two touchdowns

Canyon over S Hills: Too much offense for the up and down Huskies, Canyon by 21

Redlands over Glendora: Mike the field, gonna be some crackin' and whackin' in this one, Redlands by a touchdown, (someone must have heard me, this one is going to broadcast via web radio) ;)

La Canada over Duarte: Duarte has the best chance to win a playoff game for the Montview League since 2001 when they beat S Torrance, LC is a one trick pony but oh what a trick. Petersen rolls up 150 yards and three TD's, La Canada by 14

Charter Oak over La Mirada: They say the hardest thing to do is beat a team twice in the same season. 20-3 CO, again

Damien over Carter: The Spartans are rolling and Carter is in the way, 35-10 Damien

These just in:

West Covina over Mayfair: Only decent team Mafair has seen in almost two months was Bellflower last week and they just held on to win. WesCo is way tougher than Bellflower, 28-14 West Covina

Diamond Ranch over Bellflower: After the games these guys played against Los Al, CO, and Bonita, not to mention the scariest preseason in the Division, the playoffs ought to seem pretty easy, DR by 17

Best of luck to all of the Teams from the Valley, I'm rooting for all of you to bring it home.
