West Covina vs Trabuco Hills - I'm a bit nervous about a let down for West Co.
but yet I have a good feeling about this, I think Mayfair is a better team than Trab. Hills
& West Co was able to shut them down from the second qtr on till the end, [except for a kickoff return they had in the 4th qtr.] I'll pick West Co. 28 to 14.

Charter Oak vs South Hlls - tough game to pick,
both were a common opponent for West Co. & South Hills was more dominant vs West Co. while C.Oak vs West Co. was a much closer game that West Co.
should have won, [sorry C. Oak, no offense meant],but there were some factors in the South Hills game that may have caused South Hills dominant win that I won't get into. I'll
go with South Hills in a close game that comes down to the last few minutes. South Hills 21 Charter Oak 17.

Los Altos vs Foothill - a great match up, Foot Hill scares me with their close game [one point loss] to div. 1 Sant Margaritta who is one of the better D1 teams this year. They also have some easy wins over some solid OC teams this year. But this is the playoffs & Los Altos usually seems to rise to the occasion at times like this & when they have a good team, which I believe they have this year, they seem to have pulled together these last few weeks and are playing good ball & they are at home so I'll go with Gano & the Conquerers in another close game

Diamond Ranch vs El Dorado - on paper El Dorado
looks like the best team in the division, easily handling 4th seeded Tustin 42 to 27 & 3rd seeded
Canyon 35 to 0, [South Hills win was much closer over Canyon 21 to 14], they also had blowout wins over other traditionally tough OC teams such as El Toro, 31 to 7, Villa Park 42 to 9, & Placentia Valencia 38 to 0. & a win over a tough Dana Hills team that beat div. 1 Loyola. I got a feeling that D.Ranch will play well tonight & make the game close but I'll give the edge to El Dorado 24 to 17, but I hope I'm wrong on this.

Damien vs Temescal Canyon - Temescal Canyon while their not known very well in this area puts out some very solid teams year in & year out, last year they were finalist in the tough div. 5 losing to Norco in the championship, I think this year they are not quite as strong, while it looks as though Damien has one of their better teams that they have had in a while, I'll go with Damien in a thriller 35 to 28.

Covina vs St. Joseph - Don't know a lot about St. Joseph, only that Covina handled the common opponent for these teams [Nordof] much easier, 42 to 7 compared to 28 to 17 for St Joseph.
I say Covina rolls into the semis 24 to 7.

Duarte vs Santa Clara - again I don't know much about Santa Clara they have an impressive record
but against who?, Duarte had an impressive game
vs La Canada & I think they will keep on rolling.

all you people that think foothill could beat los altos are probably the same people that thought south hill, and damien could beat them...i am not a father, or gradute from los altos, but i can tell you this, these kids are for real....they are always up for the challenge, especially when people doubt them. lets go los altos. from a silent fan that you have made a believer in you.

Damien could win....but then again, so could Temescal Canyon. Will be too close to call at this time. But hey, let's quit putting so much news print pressure on certain teams and their players. Each and every boy on the field will be doing their very best regardless of what position they play. They each have a job to do and as a team, doing that job will put together a win...or at least a close one. The coaches have a bigger responsibility of putting together a good game. Many a game has been won/lost because of coaching. Coaches, don't let the fans leave the game thinking that the boys on the field could have called a better game. Announcers, be fair when calling a game. Referees use the eyes God gave you to call a good game for both teams. Hopefully in the end, the game will be played fair, the teams will show good sportsmanship, there will be no injuries, and the fans will be there to support their boys. Go play, have fun and may the best team win fair and square.

Best match up COULD BE/ SHOULD BE Farrar's Charter Oak team vs. Bogan's South Hills team. Reminds me of Oklahoma vs. Nebraska " Greg Pruitt vs. Johnny Rogers"

They are evenly matched. Know each other well. Pool from the same players. Have common opponents. Players know each other well. Coaches know each other too well.

For pure drama and bragging rights I don't see another game as tense and important to their respective communities! WHAT A GREAT MATCH UP!

Los Altos vs. Foothill

I really do not think that Los Altos has the offensive firepower to overcome this Foothill defense. If LA falls behind early, this game is over. Foothill's offense has been untested with the exception of Santa Margarita who shut them down. I believe this to be a defensive game with many turnovers involved. Because of this predicted defensive battle I'm going with Foothill who I think has the players to make some key defensive plays resulting in scores namely key sacks againts LA. Pick---> Foothill 17, Los Altos 3

Damien vs. Temescal Canyon

I think the Damien's season is coming to an end as well this friday. Los Osos had an awesome team and played close ones againts some of the top schools. They barely lost to Redlands (who has the top defense at this level) and had a one point loss Norco. Well this Temescal Canyon team beat Los Osos. Temescal Canyon beat a good Santiago, lost to Vista Murrieta by 3 pts, and lost to Chaparral by a TD. This team is pissed at their close losses to good programs. They are on fire right now which explains the shootout they had with Los Osos. This on top of the fact that Temescal Canyon has played a much more difficult schedule than Damien. They will be prepared. I see another shootout on the horizon. Pick ----> Temescal Canyon 38, Damien 24

West Covina vs. Trabuco Hills

West Covina is a team reborn and though they are inconsistent in gameplay, there is nothing really impressive about Trabuco Hills. This game should be a close one though but ya gotta like WC's chances especially if they are well prepared and are intense like they can be. Both teams are coming off of upset wins...WC over Mayfair and TH over Tustin.This game will be a treat for fans. My pick for this one ----> West Covina 31, Trabuco H. 20

Charter Oak vs. South Hills

You cannot ask for a better stage for SGV football. I don't agree with Charter Oak having an underdog status in this game. CO has more than enough weapons to not only beat SH but rout them. I dont see this happening though. Both these teams have been inconsistent thoughout the season but I would have to favor CO to pull out of this one as the victors. CO has perfected winning the close game this season and I think this will help them in this game as well. Pick ---> Charter Oak 21, South Hills 10
