Friday morning from Oak Parks side of town:
http://www.venturacountystar.com/vcs/vcpreps/article/0,1375,VCS_136_5182667,00.html

ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS GO COVINA JUST PUT YOUR HEART IN TO IT AND YOU CAN DO IT. GO COLTS!!!! GO BIG RED!!!!!!

74-Colt, stop it you are making me cry.(HAHAHA) I will pass it along. I would like to say Thank You for your support and time. I have been very proud of these young men. I have watched alot of them grow up. They have been leaving it all on the field game after game. Your massage will be viewed by alot of players. I know that they read the blogs daily.

One more thing to Big Daddy, JM, and all the parents of Colt players. Present and Past.

I'm just a fan. Every day ordinary Joe. Nobody special. But I'd like to ask each one of you to do a favor for some guy who you probably have seen at the games over the last 20 years but chances are do not know. I hardly ever sit in the stands, I'm usually standing over by the fence by the scoreboard/snack bar on our side when home. Sometimes with one daughter, both ( and breaking up their fighting ), or peaceful and content by myself. Wearing my old and faded and dusted off cardinal with white lettering Covina Colts hat....with pride.
When you get a chance, will you tell your kids that I said THANK-YOU ? Thank-you for the sacrifices and the dedication. Thank-you for the long practices and the sore muscles. Thank-you for everything you have accomplished and the pleasure of watching you play. Win or lose you have given me some of the best Friday nights anyone could ask for.

74-Colt when we win of Friday you will hear me all the way in Arizona. My son came home last light feeling really good about Friday. he is ready to go. He says the team is ready also. This will be a good one but the the Colts will pull it off. Just one more day to game time!

JM. Thanks.

I am not a religious person by any stretch of the imagination. I was baptized Catholic and had very little to do with religion my entire life. I swear on both my daughters heads that last week and this week I have gotten down on my knees and asked for the powers that be to watch over the Colts and if it be his/her will, to let them have the glory this season that they have worked so hard for.

While this game ( and hopefully the next ) will be going on I have 3 bottles of Mylanta and a jar of horse tranquilizers ready to get me thru. If the Colts come out on top Friday night ( which I have every bit of confidence they will ) I promise you that you will be able to hear me from Arizona..... and so will the man/woman upstairs.

Clausen does has an aadvantage this year, although I disagree with you on the size of that advantege. But whether he was old as a sophomore or junior is irrelevant to his stats since he was playing against players of the same age, no matter what year in school he or they were.

I agree that Colt - 74 is generally fair in his comments, but I think he is being myopic in not recognizing that Clausen's age did not confer an advantege over his opponents the last two years. Reasonable people can disagree over the size of the advantage it confers to him this year.

74 COLT:

YOU ARE SO RIGHT ABOUT THE SUBJECT OF CLAUSEN BEING 19 YEARS OLD. UNBELIEVABLE TO THINK THAT HE IS GOING TO BE PLAYING AGAINST EITHER OAK PARK OR COVINA, (HOPEFULLY COVINA) I AM A PARENT OF THE QB AND AM SO DISAPOINTED THAT MY SON HAS TO PLAY WITH SUCH A WRONG SET OF CIRCUMSTANCES THIS YEAR. FIRST OF ALL HAVING TO PLAY OAKS CHRISTIAN WAS DISAPPOINTING, BUT NOW TO KNOW THAT CLAUSEN IS 19 IS TOTALLY UNFAIR...TO ME, WHY PLAY AT ALL.
LUCKILY MY SON IS FULL OF HOPE AND JUST PLAYS FOOTBALL BECAUSE GOD CREATED HIM TO DO JUST THAT.
HE IS JUST GREATFUL THAT HE IS STILL PLAYING AND HIS HIGH SCHOOL SEASON IS NOT OVER JUST YET.
JUST WANT TO SAY THAT YOU ARE A VERY INSIGHTFUL PERSON AND THAT YOUR COMMENTS ARE ALWAYS FAIR AND JUST. TOO BAD YOU CAN NOT BE AT THE GAME TOMARROW, BE SURE TO SAY A PRAYER FOR US.

lets be real....look at byu, their kids are 25, 26 27 playing against 18, 19 year olds, enough said! if your good your good, bottom line and a little extra practice makes you better.

This is the last I'm going to say on this subject. I can't understand why you think that his age only affects this year. From 6th grade on he has been 2 years older than the other kids he has played against. They didn't hold him back his senior year. It was in 6th, compounded with the starting late. So all along since 6th grade he's has a slight advantage ( age and size wise )..in 7th grade he was 2 years older and bigger than the other 7th graders because he should have been in 9th grade..and so on from there. Each year since 6th grade he has been two years older than his counterparts. Not just this year... It's not really that hard to understand and track. He didn't just make it till now and some age fairy waved her magic wand and made him magically 2 years older. So since 6th grade he's had a slight advantage. Undisputable.

And what does whether or not any other kids on any other team that he played last year ( which truthfully unless you are a parent of one of those kids you would not normally know )have to do with anything? two wrongs don't make a right. And Yes..if McD was two years older than he was now in my eyes it would be less of an accomplishment. It's one thing to see a 17 year old put up great stats. It's another thing to see a 19 year old put up those stats against 17 year olds. At least it is to me..which is what my posts were all about.

Again, when I first saw his stats I was impressed. Now that I see his stats with how he got those stats I'm not impressed. Would you be impressed if a College sophomore came back down to high school level and put up those stats against kids 2 years younger than him? And I bet 99.99% of those kids he played against were 2 years younger than him.
I didn't think so....

This thread started because I was amazed at what parents will do to try and give their kids any kind of advantage they could in high school sports. Not a trash Jimmy Clausen thread. He's got talent.

Let me just try to summarize what I've been trying to say all along and be done with it. If a varsity team played a sophomore team and the varsity team won, would you brag about the varsity team winning? Maybe this is better...If a sophomore team used a varsity quarter back to play other sophomore teams and the team using the varsity quarterback won would you be doing back-flips?
If a high school varsity team brought down a collage sophomore QB to play for them and he put up great stats would you be impressed? Analogies but you get the point....

I think you ar emissing my point when you say this. "Wrong! Last year he was 18.5 playing against 16 to 16.5 year olds"

Are you saying Covina or any other varsity teams he played against did not have any 17 and 18 year olds on their team last year or the year before?

His "extra year" is this year. Until this year, even by your standards, he was age appropriate against the teams he was playing. If McD had an opportunity to play at Covina next year, would you throw out of all his accomplishments the last two years because he was "to old" for the competetion?

Directions to Oak Park :

http://www.ophs.opusd.k12.ca.us/directions.htm

Holding ur kid back is nothing new ! Its been going on for years. John David Booty from SC did the same thing. They talk about him graduating early from high school to enroll at SC but, they don't mention that he was intentionally held back in middle school ! Here's one for ya, my son just turned 16 2 weeks ago & is a junior ( which means he was 15 to begin his Jr yr )He played football broke his leg last year, worked his ass off to recover & will be on A very good Varsity wrestling team this yr.HE'S A REAL MAN !

Wrong! Last year he was 18.5 playing against 16 to 16.5 year olds. He's 2 years older than most. With the exception of him I know of NO OTHER 17 to 18 year old Juniors at the time of them playing football. Hell I don't know of any 18 year old juniors at the time of the last school day their junior year.

If you are sure that Covina has the same situation with age limit players please by all means name one. I'd sure like to know. I mean if it's legal it's legal but sure questionable from my view.
From all the blogs I've read today he will be 20 when he takes his first snap at ND next Sept.

This has been beat to death. Lets talk about Oak Park from now on.

No, last year he was 18 playing against other 17 and 18 year olds, just like the 18 year olds on Covina are doing this year. When he was 17 years old, he was playing against the 17 and 18 year olds just like the 17 year olds on Covina are this year.

If their was any advantage to be gained, it was this year, and the difference between an 18 and 19 year old is not that great. Again, it is immaterial because it is within the rules and I am sure Covina has players of similar age.

For what its worth, he did not play as a freshman.

"While it is a little unusual, there is no reason to get bent out of shape about Clausen or act like this changes or diminishes his ability. He is playing by the rules and was dominating just as much last year as this year."

So at 18 he was playing against 16 year olds...and 17 against 15 year olds... yeah..no wonder he was " dominating".

We're not talking about in college here...and some 26 year old going up against some 24 year old. We're talking about an 18 year old "adult " going up against 16 year old kids. Huge difference. I can't see anyone else doing that making news out here so it can't be THAT common. And even if it happened at 20 different schools I would think that it's a sad excuse for any parent to have to prop up their kids like that. I've been reading as much as I can about this topic with him and it was a set in motion plan since he was little from what I'm reading.

Anyway..back to focusing on this weeks game against Oak park.....

While it is a little unusual, there is no reason to get bent out of shape about Clausen or act like this changes or diminishes his ability. He is playing by the rules and was dominating just as much last year as this year. If you look at Covina's (or anyone else's) roster, I am sure you will find several players at or near Clausen's age.

While you may not know about it, many schools back east have post graduate programs for high school students. It is an extra year of high school where students gain more maturity (physically and mentally) before heading off to college. In fact, there is a school in Maine that is only for post graduates, meaning their student body turns over each year.

So just for you crazy parents out their, you can start school late, hold back a year, go to a post graduate high school, grey shirt at your college, red shirt at your college, and gain 5 years on everyone. If your mormon and go on a mission you can even tack on two more years.

Of course, the older you get, it is talent not age that makes a difference, the NCAA has no age restrictions.

I don't really understand the facts below, would that mean that clausen is 19 1/2 or older right now .If he is should,nt CIF be looking at this issue, if it is an issue,if he is would'nt that make him ineligieble to play, did'nt something like this happen to a pomona player last year? I'm confused.

...JUST WONDERING..

There was an article in the LA Times about a year ago. The folks back east were holding there kids back just so they will be a year older when they start high school. They were mainly doing it if there kid is a pitcher. One year older dominating the kids younger than them. I haven't heard about it in football to much, but I am sure that it is going on. Now you have that little edge on the other kids in school. So now the Freshman (who should be a sophmore) is dominating the little guys.

It's the American way:

"You lie, steal, cheat, and deceit."

The Clash: "Wrong 'em Boyo"

So if this kids birthday is on June 15th he could be 19 and a half years old playing against 17 to 17 and a half year olds.... Wow.....

Sorry, but my impressed factor with him just went out the window.

I must have led a sheltered life cause I never knew about anyone doing this. I can see maybe 1 year for being held back, although in California I have not seen any kids held back. Hell, this one kid that went to school with my daughter flat out told each and every one of her teachers that she wasn't going to do homework. She got an F in each class and was shuffled straight thru high school. Graduated right along with all the rest. Plus she actually missed 2 months of her junior year... just didn't feel like getting up that early.

Being held back 2 years ( intentionally starting a year late and intentionally being held back by your parents- not for anything academically ) is a freaking joke...That should not be allowed. or if you do that you give up 2 years of High school sports. No wonder his stats are impressive. Comapare them to any other Sophomore QB in college and he's probably middle of the barrel. That is Sad when you have to pull a stunt like that to make your kid shine. I have absolutely no respect for that kid. Hope SC uses him to wipe the floor for the next 4 years.

74-Colt,
Didn't you that's the new thing. I know that they are doing it alot back east. they holding there kids back in 6 or 7 grade, so that they will have that one extra year and be bigger and stonger that some of the other kids. They are doing it alot for baseball I know. Oak Park is covered by the Ventura County Star. Nothing today on the game, maybe tomorrow or Friday.

Been searching the net for a couple and can't seem to find anything anywhere else about the Covina-Oak Park game coming up. Just wanted to get a feel from the other half.

Seems that all anyone is talking about is good ol OC. Read a few blogs here and there and learned something I did not know about Jimmy Clausen. He's 2 years older than a normal HS senior. He started kindergarten at 6 ( normal 5 ) and repeated 6th grade. So basically he's the equivalent of a College sophomore. Kinda trippy.

Back to searching...

ALL TRUE COVINA FANS AND SGV FANS OF FOOTBALL. PLEASE COME OUT AND SHOW YOUR SUPPORT. COVINA, LOS ALTOS, CHARTER OAK AND DUARTE, WILL NEED YOUR HELP. I WANT ALL THE COVINA FOLKS TO PACK THE HOUSE LIKE WE DID LAST YEAR FOR THE SEMIS. WE WANT TO GET TO THE FINALS AND WE WILL NEED THE 12TH MAN IN THE STANDS. PLEASE COME OUT EARLY AND LETS SHOW OAK PARK WHAT THE SGV IS ALL ABOUT.
GO COLTS!!!!!

Covina fans, family, and friends. Here is the address to Oak Park. The game time is 7:00pm on Friday. Use Map Quest or Yahoo to get the driving direction. Please leave early so you can get there on time.

Love seeing Covina play. They play as a team. I'll be there for the game. A couple of brothers want to see Mc D before he finishes his career so off we go!

Yeah Ralph Diaz is a STUD. Is there anyone more relaxed out there? But once the play starts he all man!

Thanks for the update on last week's game.

Can same one tell me what time the game is for COVINA and directions to Oak Park or the address so I can look up a map. Thank YOU
GO COVINA!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sticking in this thread from now on. The other one it was getting thick. Had to lift my arm up to save my watch before I got out.

Big daddy ..what I said before about how to tell from now on when it's fall is true...Wow....

Pizza Man, I'm at every game my son is on the team. St. Joseph was tough. They were a very good team. They threw some serious blows at Covina. Covina stood there and took them and started throughing them back. It was agood game. As for Oak Park, they are pretty even with Covina. I feel that we can take them. The boys will be watching flim tonight. I will have to wait to see what my son has to say. I think that we can take them. Ralh Diaz is a stud. He played a great game on Friday. Covina did there job and I hope that they will be ready for Friday.

Great that sounds perfect! See you there ! BIG DADDY! Pass the word. I'll go check with them for details and space.

Didn't get to see the last Covina game I was at TC. How good was the other team. I understand they were 9-2. Know anything about Oak Park? How's Ralph Diaz #34 been playing? Seen him vs. San Dimas and he pretty solid.

Thanks for the info.

I'm stuck out here in Phoenix for definitely this week and probably next. It's where I live now ( what was I thinking? ) I usually come out 3 week-ends a month to watch the Colts play and to annoy my daughters ( 18 & 20 ). have juggled my schedule around so much that now it's caught up with me.

I thought that there was going to be a huge pizza blast after the season was over? Was I wrong? That's what I'll throw in for. Weather or not I can make it but will sure try. Like I said I can forward the $ to Aram and he can pass it down to whomever he needs to. IF WE MAKE IT PAST THIS WEEK!

Pizza chalet...now that brings back memories. Used to know a manager and all the workers ( years ago! ) and we would close the door and help clean up and party all night inside. Wow...memories...

Pizza Blast: Lets hook up at Pizza Chalet after the playoffs are done. Friday or Saturday night would be great, no rush to get home or get up for work the next day. Then we can sit around eat drink and have a good time. We will have something to talk about.

BLOGGERS PIZZA BLAST STILL ON !!!

Going to the Covina game to see Ralph and Mike play. Hopefully it's a good turn out . Thanks for supporting the BLOGGERS PIZZA BLAST!

74-COLT ALUMNI---War paint for friday? McD's going to rock their world! Good luck with your son.

See you at the game.

It's awful quiet right now. Is this calm before the storm?

Is the SGV Football Pizza Blast still in the works?

Tell ya what...if Covina makes it past this week I'm throwing $200 into the Pizza Blast at the end of the season. Just for making it to the dance. I'll forward it to Aram and he can send it on to whomever is organizing the thing.

Was the post a couple back posted by Arams sister Aran?

VALID points non the less....

Aram,
Fan turn out will not be a problem. Covina will have the seats filled for this one. Our defense was not really the problem. The penilties is what killed us. Covina had about 4 drives halted and kept St Joseph alive on several of there drives due to penilties. Hats off to St Joseph, they were a good football team. Sua was hard to bring down. This was the type of test we needed. Covina needed somebody to push them a little bit. It was a fight to the end and Covina was the last man standing. The boys will be ready for Oak Park. They know that after this win, they will be going to the ship.

You Covina fans need to worry about two things:

1. Oak Park - Play defense like you did last week and Oaks Christian will be a pipe dream.

2. Attending the game - Your Colts need a big crowd for this game, which means you'll have to get out of work early, buck traffic and get up to Oak Park.

MATMTWTBAG,
Tyler has a broken leg. He broke it on the first play of the playoffs. OC has a running back Marshall Jones who is pretty good. Any team can pull an upset. Covina has to get past a good Oak Park team. We will have our hands full. I think Covina will come out on top. The coaches have done a good job with making half time adjustments if needed. He has gotten the kids ready to play for each game. My son is pumped up, all we talk about is football. We are home watching flim and getting ready for the game. I can't wait. Man I'm sitting on pins & needles waiting for this Friday

It's Marc Tyler. Broke his leg ( compound fracture ) just above the ankle. Healing now for USC.
They have plenty of depth as you can see from the score from last two weeks. HW is a 2 to 1 underdog but I and everyone else around would be doing back-flips if they knocked off OC.

What is the latest on Oaks Christian's RB Wendall Tyler Jr.?...I understand that he has broken his foot and is out for the rest of the season. I guess that could help Covina should they get to the championship game vs Oaks Christian. Again it is one game at a time but this could now add a new twist to this championship.. game if the two should end up meeting........And just maybe Harvard/Westlake could pull the upset..........any thoughts?

Some body help me. I was looking at the Max Preps, Cal Prep, and USA Today rankings of the top football teams in the nation.
Max Preps and Cal Preps have Oaks Christian at 157 and USA Today has them at #7. Why would OC be at 157 on 2 ranking system and #7 by another. I know that they are good. I have seen them fall alot over the past couple of weeks on the Max Preps rankings. Can some one please explain this to me? I just want to understand why a team as good a OC is hit so hard in the Rankings. The State Ranks have OC at #18. What's Up????

I found this on the LA Times Preps Blog: It appears the the folks on the other side of town like Oaks Christian just as much the folks here like Covina:

Message to O.C. critics: Bring it on
Now that Venice and St. Bonaventure have been eliminated from the postseason, I see people want to start getting off the Oaks Christian bandwagon.

Get a reality check. Oaks Christian routed those two schools, so please don't start comparing scores.

There is no doubt in my mind that Oaks Christian would beat Long Beach Poly, Orange Lutheran, Edison or Santa Margarita in a one-game situation. They are that good.

Stop taking away the respect they've earned.

I agree that OC is probably the best team around.

Respect doesn’t automatically come with greatness and it’s potential. As you imply, it’s earned. Did they really command respect with an aggressive schedule similar to the other great programs? I think that’s the argument that those who aren’t on the bandwagon would bring up.

I subscribe to the old school axiom is “if you want to be considered the best, you have to play the best.

I have read that some big programs did not want to play them. I am sure there were others that would have loved to have a shot the “best team and would have played them anytime, any place.

Eleven (?) college D1 scholarships are pretty impressive and prove that they have a lot of talent. But, I’m left with the feeling that OC’s season was more of a great marketing campaign with some well placed strategic match ups early in the season. Their coronation seemed based more on feature stories by the local and national media.

It would have been more exciting to see them play some historic games than to read all the stories on how talented this team was.

Give me a break, Sondheimer. Put Oaks Christian in the Pac-5 playoffs and they would be just another good team in that monster bracket. Yeah, they're good, but they'll have to settle for the small potatoes they've been playing for the last four years. Ho. Hum. I can't wait until they get knocked off their pedestal next year and realize it takes more than one all star class to build a winning tradition.

In a one-game situation, O.C. would win. But as you said, playing a couple games in a row against Pac-5 competition would be interesting.

Posted by: Deacon Blues | November 26, 2006 at 11:31 AM

For any one that has seen OC play, they can not deny the level of play. It is a well coached finely tuned machine.
They can play in any top league and should play in the PAC-5. That is where they belong and until they play at that level, it will leave room for folks to take pot shots at them.

Good point. I agree. E.S.

I can always tell the people who have never seen Oaks Christian actually play. They are the ones that say things like," In our Division, they would just be another team," and "if they had to play all the tough teams we have to play, then they would see what it's like in the 'big boy' leagues."

Blah, Blah, Blah...

You all do realize that it is an extreme rarity for any of the starters to ever see more than one down in the second half, right? If Redell kept his players in the game full time, or did any kind of 4-quarter rotation, the would be scoring a thousand points a season, not just 750.

Also, Coach Redell has repeatedly said that this is a once-in-a-lifetime group of young men. Just enjoy the fact that we can watch a dominant team play locally. That doesn't happen very often.

Good luck and good health to al lthe players still playing, you've earned respect based on your hard work and performance on the field.

I am right with you on the CO SH score. I picked SH and boy was I wrong! I also picked Damien by a min. of 17 and showed why I am not placing bets at Vegas.........

Charter Oak really came ready to play. And boy did they!

Bless you BIG DADDY. I'll name my next born Male Child after you....

Hey it worked for Don Garlits...

74-Colt,
My son told me that in the locker room at the half, that the team was not worried. They knew that it was going to be tough!! After the game he told me that it was one of the toughtest games all year! They were happy for the win. They will be ready for next week. If you want e-mail me: rarrant@curtisswright.com and I will give you my number so I can give you updates on the game.
What happen at the CO/SH game. I'm in shock that SH(THE BEST TEAM IN THE AREA) got blown out.

If anyone is interested in what St Joe had to say about the game, check out this link:
http://www.santamariatimes.com/articles/2006/11/26/sports/sports09.txt?imw=Y

I seriously hope that the Colts can come out from the opening kick-off firing on all cylinders. Lately it seems that they need a little while to get into their rhythm. I also hope that Coach Thomas can gets these men fired up before the game like they have never been fired up before.

I'm sure that each player this week will reflect and have their own personal Visionquest. This is not new ground for some of these men and I'm sure that they know what they need to do. I'm also sure that each and every player will take care of business.

To do what these young men have done over the last two seasons is remarkable by anyones standards. I'm not foolish enough to believe that what they have accomplished and are going to accomplish is for me or anyone else watching them. They are doing it for each other. We the fans have been
blessed with the opportunity to go along for the ride. I personally thank them for letting me tag along.

This week is pure hell for me. Stuck in Phoenix not being able to watch the Colts play. I have the gut wrenching feeling that I am going to miss the performance of a lifetime from MY Colts.

Prove me right men!

like we said "ONE GAME AT A TIME"....Oak Park first ,and thats it !!!IT's foolish to even think of, who was that other team that was mentioned, nevermind you know what we mean!

I'M OUT...................GO COLTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great Game against St Joe's but as I predicted it wasn't that easy.

I am going "out on the limb" after looking at both Oak Park's & Covina's schedule I will say that Covina will have "no problem' with Oak Park on Friday night. Please enjoy this win!

I will add to this that I believe that had Harvard-Westlake had one more win in their preseason schedule Covina would have been playing Oaks Christian THIS Friday night. If you look at the "big school" opponents Harvard-Westlake lost to in the preseason (by a combined score of 5 pts.) "capped" with a "big win"(away) at Carson HS I fully believe that Harvard Westlake should have had the #2 or #3 seed. Actually I am not sure what CIF was thinking but Oak Park should have been the #4 seed just because they were in 2nd place in the Oaks Christian League. The only reason they are the #3 seed is that they have only 1 loss and that was to Oaks Christian and they are in the same league as Oaks Christian and they wanted them in a different bracket.
Oh well!! It is what it is. It doesn't change the fact that Covina has had a great year and they have great players. I think that Harvard-Westlake would have been a better "indicator" of Covina's talent as a very good football team.

My last prediction and you can take this "to the bank". No matter how well Covina plays against Oaks Christian and Claussen is the quarterback they will beat Covina or 90% of the teams in the CIF Southern Section. They are that good. They should not be in this Division under any circumstances. I know people want them to lose but we need to be realistic. They have 2 ex-NFL players helping the coaching staff and they are "running" defensive scheme's that are seen only on sophisticated Division I Universities or in the NFL but not in High School. Couple that with their offensive power it is pretty hard to defend at this Division III Level.

This is just an observation and is not meant to get anyone upset. I am not an Oaks Christian supporter. I am a SGV resident and an avid realistic football fan. Can Covina beat Oaks Christian. Sure they can. But it will take a perfect game from Covina and Oaks Christian will have to turn the ball over at least 10 times and Covina will have to score on every one of those mistakes.

I'm outta here!!!!

look at teh calpreps predictions

at Covina (CA)
[2006] Covina (CA) 28, [2006] Oak Park (CA) 27

at Oak Park (CA)
[2006] Covina (CA) 28, [2006] Oak Park (CA) 27

at neutral site
[2006] Covina (CA) 28, [2006] Oak Park (CA) 27

man, this has been a wierd postseason for the colts. first they play a small town in nordhoff, then a team that came 4 hours from home in st joseph. now they play stuck up rich kids from oak park. and if they reach the finals (GO COLTS!), they will play a team that recruits that should have no buisness playing schools that dont cheat. GO COLTS!!!

Yes, I will be out there. At least that's the plan right now.

bad boyz rule said it all! Thank-you!

I don't think that this game will be separated by more than a few points. It's going to be Covina's toughest test. I have faith in our Colts and believe that it will be a battle, but a battle that they can win.

I'm going to be stuck in Phoenix for this week-end and will have to rely on getting my information from the Tribs scoreboard...unless any other fans out there want to call me and give me an update after each quarter ? If anyone will I will be truly appreciative.

Here's hoping for a great game for our Colts and letting them know that we are supporting them 100%...even in Arizona this week!

Could not be prouder of our Colts!

LET'S SEE,COVINA IS 11-1 AND OAK PARK IS 11-1,
COVINA HAS 2 GAMES THAT THEY DID'NT SCORE MORE THAN 40pts.,AND OAK PARK HAS 2 GAMES THAT THEY ONLY SCORED MORE THAN 40pts.

MY EARLY PREDICTION.......
COVINA COLTS.......47
OAK PARK...........21

ARAM , THE HEADING SAY'S "GONNA GET THERE EARLY" DOES THAT MEAN YOU WILL BE GOING TO THE COLTS GAME ALONG WITH THE OTHER FAITHFULS ?

bad boyz rule,
I like what you put. All I have to say is good luck on Friday Covina. GO COVINA!!!!!!!!!! GO BIG RED!!!!

aram this gives me a good laugh lol, but none of that matters for the game, we jsut gotta come out ready to play no matter who were up against

WHY DOES THE HEADLINES READ LOS ALTOS "UPSETS" FOOTHILL? STILL NO RESPECT. THAT WAS NOT AN UPSET, THAT WAS A STRAIGHT UP OLD FASHION A_ _ KICKING, THAT SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED. IF THEY WOULD HAVE LOST, THEN YOU COULD HAVE TITLED IT UPSET. WHEN WILL LOS ALTOS GET THE RESPECT THEY DESERVE. YOU TALK ABOUT THEIR FOUR LOSSES IN MID SEASON BUT YOU DONT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THEIR WINS OVER DAMIEN? OR SOUTH HILLS? MAYBE NEXT WEEK WHEN THEY BEAT UP ON ELDORADO. GOOD LUCK NEXT WEEK KIDS!

great post by bad boyz rule!!!great post!!!!!Love IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!!!!!the covina faithful, all that matters.

Here at covina we never look past the current opponent!.we only take one team at a time.ARAM, you picked us to go to the finals at the start of the season and we will do just that, make it to the finals.I'm thinking oak park will be looking past us,thinking we are not a worthy team and can not commpete with them, well you know what they have a big supprise comeing there way,we have been stepping it up every week .the only supporters we have are the covina faithfull, the true believers ,the only ones that think we can go the distance ,we don't care that the valley does'nt think we are legit , THATS WHAT FUELS OUR FIRE!!... I'm glad that the game is away,so all the colt bashers(exeample, southhills, glendora ,west covina) won't be there, only the covina faithfull will make the trip.......GO COLTS.........

They are only 65 miles away- One hour + traffic

We better start taking this team serious or no OC. Their only loss was to OC 55-7

One game at a time!
