Here's the thing about girls from Walnut: They'll 'Stang you!

| | Comments (12) |

There have been many big games played on the turf at Covina District Field. Although most of them have been football, you won't have to wait until September to see the next big game - it's on Tuesday night! No, South Hills isn't going to play Covina in a CIF law-breaking January football game. Nope, we got something better ...

Girls Soccer
San Antonio League showdown
Walnut (6-3) vs. South Hills (10-1-3), 5 p.m.

Lorraine Hansen and the 'Stangs are ready to throw it down with Scott Mocabee's Huskies. If South Hills wants to be considered "playuhs" they'd better beat The Nut.

There is some truth to that on the boys' side. The girls, though, overall, are in good shape. The girls soccer program is tops in the area, the girls hoops team is a league championship-caliber tema every year and swimmer Rachel Grant is a CIF champ.
Football, boys hoops and baseball i.e. the Big 3, are not holding up their end.

South Hills Cracked the Nut!......

Honestly Walnut Sports Programs for Boys has got to be the worse and the future does not look good either....baseball basketball and especially Football...they are horrible....the girls Soccer team was the only sport that was making a name for them, now the meltdown against SH. Good academic school yes, Sports save the money and get rid of them this school cannot compete.....why they ever let Pearsons step down as head football coach is amazing.......

Heelloo! South Hills dominated this game. The Huskie girls were hungry for a win. The Stangs with their previous untouchable status has long lost great soccer players and have now become bunch of divas. Girls skills and heart will always win games not attitudes. Walnut deserved a loss, perhaps to humble the girls to play soccer and leave the drama at home. The Huskies girls cannot be dismissed are definately great contendor for CIF. Congratulations to the Huskies for playing a great game! =)

Unbelievable! South Hills varsity girls soccer beating the nut. Wow! How is that possible? Who is this Scott Mocabee? Who are those girls at South Hills?

Pretty bold statement above. Beating the nut 4-1 is a rout in soccer. I hope all of you read the front page of today's sports section. Congrats to Coach Mocabee and his girls. Keep up the good work.
