We partied together, worked out together, shared family gatherings together, and were in weddings together. So I know who I am and what I am about.

So Randy you keep that myopic view you have, I’m telling you man there is a whole world out there waiting for you to grab the brass ring. I suggest you quit wallowing in your self pity and go for it man because the opportunity is there for you I suggest you grab the son of a bitch, hold on tight and enjoy the ride.

its funny cuz now workman is starting to get looked upon as a violent school. yeah, last years game against la puente was cancelled because of gang violence, but not botween schools, it was something that went on in the neighborhood. a guy was killed a day or two before that game, so school officials cancelled the game in order to prevent anyone from the gang "puente" showing up. and yes, our player did elbow funez, but its all part of the game. basketball is a contact sport, and if you can't take a few blows here and there, especially as a post player, then hes in the wrong sport. theres nothing bad going on at workman, actually the school is turning around to be honest. it use to be filled with underachievers, and now we have our api scores rising up.

Our point of disagreement with this "blacks can not be racists" paradigm is it negates personal responsibility. It's too bad Duarte has this image and that people can not be more tolerant of change but being decent and having intregrity and good sportsmanship has no color limitations...that's just minstrelling of the lowest form. I see I have touched some nerves. You can say what you want, but you guys know what I am saying is true. Anytime a school that has mostly African-American players comes out with a little swagger, then everyone immediately says they have no class or there too cocky. I heard this crap as a player and I hear it as a coach/teacher now. Now I'm not going to say that Durate doesnt need to clean up it's act a little bit, but in the years they were "classy" (80's and early 90's), they still caught heat.

But it doesnt really matter in the long run. With the exception of Amat, Los Altos, West Covina, South Hills, and maybe CO, no other team in the SGV has a chance of winning a CIF championship in football or basketball in the forseeable future. These are the only schools who are truly accepting of black students on campus in the first place (if you think this is not the truth, I would strongly advise you too go look at the populations of your local high school and find out how much crap the black students take every day from other students).

Bottom line is this: you can call these athletes classless all you want. However, without these athletes, your precious schools wont be winning a CIF championship in football or basketball. If you think I'm lying, look at how many of these Inland Empire teams: Upland, Los Osos, JW North, Colony, Diamond Ranch, etc have excelled since these so called classless athletes have came to there schools.

Oh and for Mr. Amat let me say this: I'm not racist. Black people can't be racist, we have been through too much. I can give a crap less what color you are. As long as you have integerity, pride, and class, I will work with you (as a teacher and coach). I'm just tired of hearing about how classless certain schools or certain types of players are just because the majority of their athletes are African-American!

How can you say workman had the best corners? jermaine thomas is by far better than any player on the workman roster. Many teams didnt want to vote for duarte players for all league becasue they were mad duarte blew them out. Duarte quarterback austin goldsmith had much higher statistics than alex silva, chris harris dominated the whole league and the playoffs except against verbum dei. many players on duartes roster like desmon hayes should be an all league selection at safety or reciever and didnt get either. duartes other safety andrew viotti also got no love with more tackles than most other players and less games played. and also 42 wouldnt have to face funez to say a racial slur to him. you dont have to face someone to talk to them.and duarte players only went over there to protect their players also.workman had more fans in their jv and freshman teams than duarte did in all and most duarte fans were cheerleaders or other girls. get your shit straight before you wanna say workman is racist. how would workman not like black people if they have two black players, and a black coach on the team. yes 42 did elbow funes in the eye, but only as he was fighting for position, how is it that he said f*** you n***** if he had his back turned to him and continued on the play. not only that, if you would see the video, 42 was driving to the basketball when funes ran up out of no where and punched him, the pushed him into the wall after the ref finally blew a wistle, and punched him again. and no it wasn't a workman jv coach that pushed a duarte player, it was a workman senior, who was only stoping the duarte player from getting in a workman players face. if you weren't stupid then you would notice that he was wearing a black polo shirt, and the workman coaches were wearing red polo shirts. none of the lower level players were trying to start fights, they went to protect their friends, the bleachers did clear because workman only had about 15 fans there, duarte had about 30-40, but all the duarte fans who weren't parents did indeed clear also. how is it that workman bleachers were taunting the duarte side? they didn't do anything but cheer louder and have spirit, not only that, duarte's crappy ass cheerleaders were being out done by workmans cheerleaders. workman cheerleaders were all stunting while the duarte cheerleaders could only watch in envy. no one in the bleechers exchanged words with anyone else in the duarte side. when workman was leaving.... there were adults taunting the workman team while they were leaving.

don't even start.... who the hell are you? so called "taunting" in the bleachers would have been a concern if duartes ghetto ugly gym would have bleachers on both sides of the court, seperating the crowds. take away duarte's speed and they finish maybe 3rd in league. don't forget, workman had the offensive and defensive mvp's this year, Alex Silva, and Fransico Ruiz, not to mention Niel Guiterrez who lead the league in sacks OVER Mike Harris. Harris won lineman of the year, but he was getting punk against workman. Workman had the best corners in the league, including Manuel Vega, who returned an interception 99 yards for a touchdown. Workman had both their running backs make first team, one at reciever. Workman cleaned house in the all league votes, only one person on their o line didn't make first team all league. their tight end only had 4 catches for 117 yards, and made second team all league, so don't try talking about workman only having one good player. workman had all the play makers this season. if no one can compete with duarte, then how come they're in dead last place in basketball. all they had is football.

i was at the game and if you were there youd have noticed that all the workman bleachers were cleared while the duarte bleachers were still full. JV and Freshman players were trying to start fights with duarte players while they were trying to break up the fight. ive seen the tape and talked to funez and other players on the team. throughout the game workman jv and freshman players were taunting duarte fans and parents and harrassing them. dont take anthing away from the duarte football team. i am 100% sure they work 10 times harder than any team in their league and work for their speed. its bull**** people are just mad because the montview cant compete with duarte.

I've been to many gyms with very diverse student bodies and fans. Many gyms with predominantly caucasion spectators have also exhibited a lack of class - some of them from higher socio-economic areas. It's not about money or race - it's about behavior of the players, coaches and fans.

And for someone who is backing up Duarte, playing in their miniature airplane hanger, you have no business cracking on anyone elses gym.

Why are people always saying that Durate has no class? Yes, there coaches and players have huge egos, but how does that translate into not having class? What I think most your bloggers really want to say is this: Those black people at Durate dont know how to act! Instead of hiding behind that no class b.s., just say what's on your racist minds.

With all the crap that has happened at Workman, LP, BP, etc over the past decade, I have never once heard anyone say those schools have no class. But mention Durate or any other african-american dominated sports team (players or coaches) and the first thing that is said, those schools/players/coaches have no class!

Oh yeah: Even if Durate didnt have all that speed, they still would have killed Workman. Workman has one good year in the last 25, so please dont get happy. That sorry sack of school has always sucked (expect for the Jason Fergueson era in basketball: late 80's). Good Luck to Carlton Fletcher. Altho Amat had a lousy season Carlton never gave up or pulled himself out of a game...He has the desire and the love to play this game of football. He was the senior leader of the lancers this past year and even tho the team was losing he was out there on Fridays giving it his all....He will do very well with Army given that he also is a excellent student. He had some knee problems this past season which restricted him from carrying the ball on offense as a running back. He will make a excellent cadet. Again Amat shinning as always. it was a duarte football player, aaron funez couldn't guard one of workmans post players, so his emotions got the best of him and he shoved the workman player into the wall. both bleachers ran onto the court, no one was hurt. but as workman was going to the bus, other adults were mocking the workman fans, saying "where you from cuh?" duarte doesn't know how to lost a game. they are undiciplined by their new coach.

yes i will follow up on it workman had to be escorted out because duarte students where out of control and mocking at the workamn players it was a very crazy scene...if the refs had control of the game none of this would have never happend
