Comments
Read the LA TIMES article about cheating in high school sports and cheating by high school players on tests, ect.
The great Le Duc had the best line in the piece:
" I believe there can be TWO WINNERS on the floor." That tells you all you need to know about the man.
He went on to say sports is a tool for building character and a preparation experience for life's future challenges. Talk about perspective.

Are those cricket sounds coming from Damien?
One and Dunn.

SGV Tribune MVP
Might be a little early but I want to throw Damien's Griffin name in the SGV Tribune MVP hat...where would Damien be without his leadership, clutch shooting and toughness?
Ranked # 1 in the Valley for most of the season , most wins in school history and well just a thought. best of luck to ALL worthy nominees.

Hey 'Tartans Win",
Thanks for the reminder bout that El Do fan's rant. That was sweet! Ya'll know that their football teams comes back to town next year to play the Tartans. Handed my ticket at the door to a football coach, and after talking with him, found out he's the head coach and we talked about it (5th week, he reminded me. And they played at Citrus in the Championship too). We'll get some revenge for the SGV there too, I expect. I'm sure the basketball guys or well I guess Beckwith is the only one coming back that plays football. He should remember El Do. Their Hall of Fame was pretty impressive though. Janet Evans, Brett Boone, Phil Nevin, Brett Tomko.....

AT,
Darren'll do. We remember back to the days when Dougie was working your beat and roaming the sidelines at Keifer or the stage at Duff.
Let's hope we play enoughgames that the whole crew can take their turn. It'll be tough but the Chicas will give it their best

Amat fans,
You'll be in the capable hands of Darren Spoon on Saturday night. I know, I know, he was just as shocked as you probably are that the fat man won't be covering the game. I think his exact words were "You're giving up the Amat game, dude?" Yes, I felt it important that he experience the Chicas himself. I will be at C-Town to cover the Eeeeeeegggggggggggaaaaaaarrrrrdddddddoooooo Show.

if arroyo knocks off st margarets tomorrow they will have a shot at the finals where they will probably face ontario christian

Considering Kush never played Varsity ball at Bosco Tech, and in the games he played at lower levels averaged a shot every 2 seconds I'm not shocked LA went out so fast.

Yeah, that was a pretty classic post by an El Dorado fan. I guess nobody told him it wasn't football season any longer and he probably had no clue who Glendora was. Oh well ...

bball fan,
Nice call, Blaney deserves props for his physical play and energy. This team needs their scorers to hit some shots, but the role guys playing well really make it all work well. The bigs have stepped up and this team is really gonna miss those seniors next year. Go get Romona tomorrow night, I'd love nothing better than seeing another playoff rematch against El Toro! (at home?!)

Great job in your rookie year over at Arroyo, McCullough. He proves right there, an Off Capmus gut can do all the things an on Campus guy can do, and possibly more. And lastly, Good luck friday down in deep south Orange County. Rep the SGV man!!!
Finally, Aram, love the Kobe Santos and Carmelo Morita references in the headlines, just dont forget this kid Morita when its time to choose the all valley team. Your going to get tons of people saying "but he plays in the mission valley league"...no way, ive seen this kid play a few times along with other league players as well, he'd stand out in any leage. ANY LEAGUE!
All the luck Arroyo!

GTO - right on with everything, but don't forget about Blaney. In his brief appearances he played physical aginst the big guy from El Dorado which was a big factor in wearing him out when he was not a factor down the stretch. Beckwith was solid and what a boost to have Ivancich come in as a floor leader. Also, good move by Leduc in sitting Dom down. Dom is an emotional player which is fine until it affects the team. Look for Dom to have a monster game at Ramona

Congrats to the Knights for their 1st playoff win in what seems like forever. This program has done a complete 180 from past years. The coach has come in and has done a unbelievable job. Aram, he needs to be considered for Coach of the year. 1st league title and playoff win in 10 years. Arroyo is back on the map. Thank you Coach McCullough.
Good Luck Friday against the #1 seed.

this is the same training usede by Shaun Cody and Brigham Harwell that has helped them get to the level that they are playing at now. Local high school football, basketball and baseball players are using this training.

I used to coach football and baseball in the same league as Capo Valley Christian and was surprised to see that they would play South El Monte in the playoffs.
Interesting info:
South El Monte = 1444 students
Capo Valley Christian = 225
Arroyo = 2343
St. Margarets = 1220 (in K-12)
Mountain View = 1874
Desert Chapel = 391 (in K-12)

Very nice win Tartans! It looked like you would really run away with it in the middle of the 3rd (up by 15 or so), but a little craziness and coach having to settle a couple of guys down slowed things up and let El Do make it look closer than it was. Dominic played the point very well in the absence of Ivancich (who made a brief appearance late when the coach felt he needed to sit Dom down for a while). Adema played well early as Dom found him for layup after layup. Gordien was steady all game long. Beckwith started and played a solid game all around and Meyer shook of a bad ankle to provide rebounding, a little offense and defense down the stretch. Chakerian played well too (playing his best right now). Bring on Romona! The Glendora Bandwagon is on the move, so those of you who decided to sit out a while, come on back and jump on as we head out to Riverside Friday.
