The Jackrabbits are coming, the Jackrabbits are coming!!! (to Damien?)

She can fly ...
Long Beach Poly, ranked No. 2 in the country by USA Today, will play Bishop Amat on Tuesday night at Damien. Tip-off is 7 p.m. If you've never been to a girls basketball game, you'll want to make this your first one. The SGV couldn't ask for a greater event. Tuesday's atmosphere should be amazing. Needless to say, Amat will need a crowd like it would send for a championship football game. This is one tough opponent!

Who is Joe Amat?

Baseball is starting to become a hot topic and football will always dominate the blog, football season or not, but hey, Aram, since you opened up to pro baseball with the Dodger topic how about getting your bloggers thoughts on the Cinco De Mayo Classic fight between Oscar de la Hoya vs. Pretty Boy Floyd Merriweather. There was a promotion / press conference out in Hollywood today and the crowd was huge. Who's your pick in this fight and what is your take...Give it to us Aram.

To sorry not tonite
i believe the object is to be moved up when your team improves.how else can you gage the caliber of your team if stay in the same lower division and falsely dominate just to hang banners on your gym wall. again the rats come out when we are down . our girls team should be very proud of all they have accomplished this and past seasons.as for next year we will be fine and still be competing at the top level.by the way we still might go on to state with an at large berth.

Again foul trouble for Candice Brown in the biggest game for the Lancers did not help matters. Lets face it we were overmatched but gave it all we had and the girls played with heart. LBP is one heck of a team give them credit they are not no.2 in the country for nothing. At Large bid for Amat would be nice to see this team play again. They deserve it being moved up and beating the likes of lynwood and hang for a half with LBP...I think we have not seen the last of these Lady Lancers this year. Hope they do well if they get the bid. ON BLUE!...By the way Damien, nice gym.

What can you say? LB Poly was simply better. But Amat is down, but not out. The season isn't over. Amat is very likely to get an at-large bid to the state playoffs because all three teams the Lancers needed to lose, lost.

Amat should hold their heads up high. Facing the second best team in the country is never easy. Amat went deep this year in the playoffs. Congratulations!

Long Beach Poly 57, Bishop Amat 44
Jasmine Dixon scored 23 points and Taja Edwards scored 10 of her 12 points in the first half for top-seeded Long Beach Poly (30-1) at Damien High. Kristen McCarthy had 18 points and UCLA-bound center Candice Brown scored 12 for the fifth-seeded Lancers (25-5), who trailed 22 to 17 at halftime. Straight from the la times site

Jack Rabbits by 14 or more tonite...Amat does not have enuf to match up with these girls...sad ending for a team that got moved up...if they would have kept them playing D3 Amat goes on to state....The Run for Amat ends here after dominating for 3 years...next year they will be just a so so team...

This game should be mandatory attendance for ALL Boys basketball players in the area!
Best game I've seen all year, if not ever at the high school level, King vs. Upland...with King advancing.
Great athletes, great teamwork and great fundamentals! Willie Trimble is HUGE! What a fantastic performer. Watch for Juniors Danny Redmon, Thomas Colbert and Kevin Bradshaw...Upland is stacked with size , shooters and coaching. They should be fun to see next year.
King was so agressive and quick. Swarming defenders and outstanding transition ofense. Yet Upland was there toe to toe for most of the game.
Congrats to the Highlanders!

Well lets get everyone out to Damien come Tuesday nite. I really do not know about this one though. LBP is a very talented bunch and have beaten teams this year that Amat has lost to AB Miller and Muir. So that is kind of indication of what type of team Amat is drawing here. Could Amat be peaking at the right time? Maybe so...Big game on the line. This is where we need Candice Brown to really step up her game and play with s I want to take charge of this one. Great players do this. Wiard will have to slow the Tempo down and not try to run up tempo style of basketball with these JackRabbits or Amat will get run off the court. If he turns this into a 1/2 court game we stand a chance of winning.
