Trouble on the Ranch ...

Aubrey Haynes is leaving the Ranch for St. Paul.

In the same month that Diamond Ranch senior defensive back Terrence Dennis committed to Fresno State, Panthers' junior running back Aubrey Haynes left for St. Paul. This seems like a very conspicuous move, considering that D-Ranch has sent its share of players to D-1 factories.

Terrence Dennis is leaving the Ranch for Fresno State.

Well, Aubrey will be missed but things happen. D-Ranch has alot of talented kids. Anybody can be replaced. there is another running back @ d-ranch and he is a baller and will get well over 1,000 yards...

This BLOG was brought to my attention. The views and comments of Mr. Parker do not reflect me, my staff, or the school. Despite feeling hurt for losing Aubrey Haynes (what coach wouldn't) we do not condone the personal attacks on Aubrey and his family.

Isn't spring semester, the last semester(or only)to transfer without being slapped with a "sit out" year? Anyone know for sure?

I hope SGV kids don't play outside the SGV. Are there any? I hope not.

You want to throw names out there of kids at colleges from DR. St.Paul has sent hundreds of kids to D1 schools over the years. Maybe Aubrey saw that St.Pauls last 2 starting tailbacks are now at pac-10 schools, Washington St. and Arizona. Peter you seem so bitter about his transfer dont knock a kid for wanting to do better for him self. Your so intrested in Aubrey come watch him week 0 run all over Servite.

Aram, don't refer to Diamond Ranch as "The Ranch." We all know there is only one "The Ranch" in Southern California

Cant blame parents for sending their kids to a better enviroment to get an education. I have no ties to SP but will see him week 6 at Kiefer should be a good one. I know private schools offer a better enviroment and more one on one time with instructors. It is a more disciplined atmosphere.....

Dear St. Paul,

Just to let you no your information is so incorrect. Cogburn has the full package he has the grades, talent and the SPEED and bottom line this is what you need. Cogburn is already getting looked at even at SEM he is just so humble and well grounded that he does not put all his business out there and this is what makes him a great player. He is also in track.

Former DR football players over the last three seasons and where they are now: Charles Brown @USC, Titus Jackson @ Oregon, Brian Holley @ CAL, Terrence Dennis @ Fresno State.
This list does not include Brandon Edwards at PCC who has given a verbal to USC (or rumor has it).

Peter Parker said:

The rumor is St. Paul guarantted Haynes 40 carries a game and a better chance of getting a scholarship. Haynes wouldn't go to Servite. He has faced Servite three years in a row. He knows they have DJ. Why not Amat? Damien? Maybe they don't recruit as well as the St. Paul coaches. My predicition, Haynes will transfer back to DR before next season. Too long of a drive, not that good of a program, too much love in San Gabriel/Inalnd Empire.

The Anti Amat said:

I beg to differ on the relevancy comment. While the last few years have been down they were a strong program from the late 90's until 2005.

St. Paul had a rotating backfield that between the 3 gained over a 1,000 yards and it gave them a more balanced attack than they had with Grisby. They were too one dimensional with him and I hope they don't get that way with Haynes.

You all still didn't explain why St. Paul. I can't see a kid driving from Pomona all the way out to Santa Fs Springs just because they didn't have a running back. Like I said, you have Damien and Amat that are closer to Pomona. Heck, it would be easier to drive to Servite than St. Paul.

I guess it is coming down to Freshman and Sophmore years then for your Junior and senior years you sign a letter of intent to the HS football team of your choice. CIF will not get involved because it is all local players switching around..Now if a Oaks Christian player or Canyon player were transfering into LA or SH then thats a different story as far as Public Schools...Local crap they dont see the need to bother with.....Aram I do agree with you on the Amat scene, I hear all the recruits going here and there and some from Amat leaving but I do not hear of anyone transfering into Amat??..I guess we are not doing our own recruiting and Verti believes he can win with what he has..BUT!!! there is still time. the recruiting war has just started....

living legend said:

The question is why st. paul...the swordsman have not be relavant for 20 years...Hey Aram people dont like Los Altos for the reason that they take players from other public schools not that they get them from private schools....That and the fact that they act like the recruiting does not happen...Hey and last thing people are talking about kids taking trips to schools...this is not college you dont get 3 recruting trips before you sign a letter of intent. CIF how about reaching in between you legs and see if there is a pair of balls down there and do something about the blatant recruiting that is happening.

WHO KNOWS said:

St.Paul program doesn't have a running back. This year, 10th grader with about 600+ yards

Haynes a little over 1000+

Aram:

Your thoughts on why Haynes decided on St. Paul when Amat and Damien are a lot closer to DR or did the kid move somewhere out there? Even if he moved out that way Amat and even St. John Bosco (both D1) programs are close by. Or did he or someone see something in the St. Paul program?

I was told Cogburn doesn't have the grades

Aram said:

This is why I always get a chuckle when Los Altos lands a parochial school transfer. It's the reverse of what ticks so many people off - a public school kid leaving the free life for what he thinks is a better opportunity at a private school. But when LA gets a parochial transfer, people trip out to no avail. Shouldn't that make LA the hero of all public schools? Ahh, I'm just kidding, but do you kinda catch my drift?

About St. Paul ... the Swordsmen are really hustling out there. Haynes transfers, there was rumors about South El Monte receiver Tommy Cogburn taking a visit to St. Paul a couple of months ago. I guess the SP coaches are making their rounds. Shouldn't Amat be hustling, too?

The Anti Amat said:

Hey Spiderman....

Sounds like someone is a little bitter. Why can't you just wish the kid well.

So you say he's overweight, misses practices, didn't play a full season and is slow and yet he made all CIF as a junior? Perhaps some schools should institute his training program?

You are starting to sound like some of those Amat fans now.

Peter Parker said:

Is DR going to clear him with CIF? Or is Haynes done playing high school football?

Peter Parker said:

Good talnet, but poor character move leaving DR. Colleges are already turned off by this move. St. Paul is getting a good RB who will never reach his potential. He is over weight, out of shape and misses practices and games when he feel likes it. St Paul is getting a FB who runs a 4.9 on a good day! Aubrey did not play one full season at DR.

randy said:

Haynes will be very hard to replace, they're lying outta their ass if they say otherwise...they do have some serious ballers on D, but they had no one in a varsity uniform last year that could replace Haynes....
