Amat is in, let the fun begin ...

Michelle Franco knows nothing but seasons that end in Sacramento.

Amat made the Division III state tournament; Diamond Ranch did not. Amat should have made it over everyone. No biggie, but you could make the case that Diamond Ranch deserved the other spot. Santa Margarita got it, however.

Nina Earl's stellar career has ended.

Who is Joe Amat???????????

Lady Lancers looked to be locked into a good game last nite for the first half, but seems like Wiard disected his opponet at halftime and placed Candice Brown down low in the post setting up a mismatch...The lancers made it look easy from there on out....I thought Michelle Franco did a great job in shutting down that Sophmore Lemmert in the second half..great way of denying the ball to that superstar from the Dons...she was impressive...I could not understand with 5 or 6 minute left in the game and the DONS down by 13 why their coach never tried to get Amat into turning over the ball by going to a full court press???....She just let her team play thru the minutes...I thought that was bad coaching....Adams was hustling last nite..great effort Lady Lancers that Yosemite game Sat. will be good.

I know Coach Spirlin and he's a tough coach who prepares and conditions his players to play at the highest level. They beat a tough Magnolia High last year in the Championship game in the Pyramid at CSULB. He was gracious and positive to the Magnolia players and coaches. He's a class act.

Runs a tough program. Always has been a tough competitor. Nina Earl is sick and the whole team works as a unit!I don't see anything wrong with what Coach had to say. Maybe it was fustration, obviously, but he was giving "his" opinion ...just like you. Only difference is he actually KNOWS what he's talking about.

Like you said "I've never met Coach Spirlin but...." what a wipe at a guy who gives his ALL to those DR girls basketball teams. Where were they before he got there? Not one player on the DR team or parent will say that Coach puts himself before the team. Thanks Coach for another great season and league title!

Congrats to the Lady Lancers and best of luck on the quest for a State 3-Peat (Pat Riley isn't going to charge me for that one is he!:?)

I feel bad for the girls at Diamond Ranch. They really play hard and Nina Earl is a tremendous talent. But I could not get over the comments made by their coach in the Trib a couple of days ago.

In discussing who should get the State Playoff berths he said, "I'm thinking I should be there," Spirlin said. "My record shows it. I've won two sanctioned tournaments and my record is better."

""I lose to Norco by one, on the road," he said. "My game went into overtime. Their games, they lost by 10. Santa Margarita is 25-5. I'm 27-2 and I beat tough teams."

Now, I've seen them play and I never saw him make a single shot or get a single rebound, yet all I read is, "I, I, my, I've, my...I, my, I'm, I..." Oh my goodness, can we mix in a "WE" somewhere or give a little credit to the ladies.

I've never met Spirlin, and I invite someone to go to bat for him and change my mind. But at this point, regarding the playoff snub, I'm thinking ...it couldn't happen to a better guy!
