HURTS: Amat downed in OT, 60-54.
Bishop Amat's girls basketball team saw its chance at a third consecutive state championship end in overtime against Sacred Heart Cathedral at Arco Arena in Sacramento. Amat led 50-47 with seconds remaining, but the Fightin' Irish got a 3-point-play to tie it.

Bleeds Blue and Gold,
8 Catholic Schools and 2 Public schools
Carson because of history and Rowland because Snoop needs a beat down but bad...lol
As far as Los Altos I figure if The Lady Lancers get a pass and don't have to play Long Beach Poly in the State Playoffs after the dominace they've had I thought I'd spread the wealth and let Los Altos beat you in the playoffs...lol ( just kidding ) . I thought you might need a rest before League...hence Rowland.
But Los Altos will do. Got to admit if you run the table with that schedule Bishop Amat gets ALL the talent again. Brother I'm trying to make the peace.
Good luck next year.

Hey Pete,
Is that your dream schedule you want us to play? Sure we'll take it. I notice how you didn't put your Los Altoids boys in the mix.
Thanks for confirming what we already knew.
Posted by: Bleeds Blue and Gold | March 30, 2007 2:37 PM
That's the beauty of it brother...there are no bleachers or sides...only harmony and tranquility. Maybe this ain't the place for you...lol (just kidding)
Maybe you can hang with the Purgatory "types" ...you know the ones that are stuck in nuetral and can't give any other school credit. (zinger)
But the truth is the only way I'm getting in is if someone throws a rope over for me and pulls me over. (and that ain't no LIE!)
Good luck to Bishop Amat I like it when they compete at the highest level and "win". It reminds me why the Orange County guys hate you so much....because money don't buy Championships ...but it sure doesn't hurt!
Any chance of this schedule
Preseason:
La Salle
Damien
Carson
St. Francis
St. Paul
Rowland
League:
Loyola
St. John Bosco
Crespi
Notre Dame
Now that would be putting you back on the map!

Will-i-am,
You got it wrong. We are not crying, it's the bashers who are crying. We are defending. Get your story straight and try to show that you know what you are talking about.

You forgot to put tear the wings off a fly's back .
Posted by: AMAT 73 | March 29, 2007 9:03 AM
I like seeing rats drown, cockroaches run when the lights come on, spiders scurry when I put a match on their ass, hookers move when the "man" drives by, gangbangers cry when the handcuffs go on, fish thrashing at the end of my line, and Amat "faithless" bitch and complain.
Hey but that me.
What the hell did that Catholic education teach you anyway...to be arrogant and insecure. Funny but my friends from other Catholic schools don't behave ANYTHING like you....wonder why?
Besides I like to see grown men cry and whine waaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh wahhhhwaahhhhhaaahhhhhhhh wwwwahhhhh!!!!!
Posted by: William S. | March 29, 2007 8:44 AM
any other name
we do not tell you anything . we just remind you of the truth. plus it is just so much fun seeing all you haters foam at the mouth when you can get your cheap thrills by bashing us. if it was not for us what would your life really be like. following your boring school because evidently they offer you nothing to praise them about or you would surely not spend so much time browsing blogs by AMAT people .
Posted by: AMAT 73 | March 29, 2007 7:45 AM
If it's confidence Amat 73 why do Amat "faithless" have to always tell everyone how great they are ....brother that's called...I.N.S.E.C.U.R.I.T.Y. !!!!

To amat NEVER
The reason you can't figure it out is because of the drugs, alcohol, meth. please do your kid a favor and send him or her to AMAT so they won't grow up to be like you . By the way it is not arrogance it is confidence .
Posted by: AMAT 73 | March 28, 2007 12:38 PM
amat 73, I owe you some $$$, all my life I've been trying to figure out what went wrong. Was it drugs, alcohol, meth? Nope, I just didn't attend amat.
Thanks for the info, I'll make sure to send my kid's there,I want them to be arrogant just like you.
True Blue just like you, blah blah blah............

Al Gore, It's because they are two different tournaments. Southern Section divides by competitive equity, while the state by enrollment
Posted by: JollyRoger | March 26, 2007 11:15 PM
AT,
I am sure there are plenty of schools in Division V who are not happy about Amat getting dropped into their division. When Amat baseball had its phenomenal run a couple years ago, they were in DIV. Now they are dropped from I into V. You know I'm a Monrovia guy, and I have a world of respect for Amat, which is why I can't beleive that their baseball team is now in the same division as ours. We have about the same enrollment, but private vs. public of the same enrollment just seems wrong.

not a fan,
I don't understand why you would even bother posting here, what a fool you are and you made yourself to be. Why don't you tell us how YOUR school did?
Let's see, 4 years to the state and 2 championships. Hell I'll take that ANY day since we weren't even expected to go that far this year anyway.
Idiots like you make me laugh.

To not a fan of b ball,
if your not a fan of b ball why make a comment about our girls team. This is just another example of all the jealous cockroaches out there that wait on pins and needles for a chance to bash AMAT for some form of self gratification.I'm sure if you had any pride in your alma mater if in fact you did graduate you would state in it your posted by. But I am pretty sure you lack that quality or any other quality fit for a human . As i have stated before " WE ARE AMAT " and we stick together win or lose because" WE ARE THE AMAT FAMILY".
Posted by: AMAT 73 | March 26, 2007 12:02 PM
That sucks Aram...Bishop Amat gets knocked off in the playoffs by Long Beach Poly in Division I and gets to play in Division III? Doesn't seem fair to the other year long Division III teams. Maybe I'm confused but how does that happen?
Bishop Amat's girl team is tough no doubt but shouldn't they compete at their season long Division status?
Posted by: Al Gore got screwed | March 26, 2007 9:53 AM
... also, I think that it's obvious CIF is starting to place more emphasis on competitive equity over the other 2/3rds of the equation - enrollment and geography.
Posted by: Aram | March 25, 2007 9:54 PM
NY,
The girls hoops team's Southern Section Division is I-AA, which is the toughest in SoCal (if not the country). It's only when they re-division for state that Amat goes to D-III.
The baseball/softball teams were in a D-I league last year, but the league was broken up. I'm not 100-percent sure, but the rest of the teams in the league remained upper division, i.e. Mater Dei. Amat went down to D-V. I've talked to Amat people who weren't happy about it, they wanted to stay up. It kind of slipped by me that this happened in baseball/softball. I guess because it's the last sport of the year and they're not scrutinized like football/hoops.
Posted by: Aram | March 25, 2007 9:51 PM
What a remarkable run. Well done.
AT, why does BA football compete D-1 but all the other sports compete based on enrollment? For instance, these ladies played D-3, right?

Here's to an excellent team that had an excellent season led by an excellent coach playing for an excellent school!
Congrats to our Lady Lancers!!!
WE ARE SO VERY PROUD OF YOU ALL!!!
TO YOU AND YOUR DEDICATION, WE REMAIN STEADFAST,LOYAL, AND TRUE!!!

... also, if I had a daugther with a jump shot, I'd convert to Catholicism, save my pennies and have her on Wiard's doorstep Day 1 of her freshman year of high school.
Classic AT!
(there's currently no plans to do any of those things, although one ex-girlfriend did try to convert the big man.)
More Than Classic AT..

Hey 'not a fan of B BALL'
We are talking about a girls high school basketball team that is representing our area in the deepest part of the post season. Geeeze, tell me you had something better to do with your time than post your jealousy here buddy???
You are a bum with no class, go take a shower get yourself cleaned up and go out and do something positive in your community.
Big Reg

You're right Reg,
He's the best. Nothing like hearing him bark out the other team's play. The guy works hard, scouts everything and his team's play his way. Although Amat lost, it was an awesome run that may or may not be over.

AT:
Thanks for the update. As heartbreaking as the loss was for the Lady Lancers, you have to give due credit to one of the greatest HS basketball Coaches of this era - Mr.Richard Wiard. What an amazing 3-year run for AMAT. Congratulations on a great season to Bishop Amat and Coach Wiard.
-Reg
Wiard's Lady Lancer 3-Year Reign of Domination:
Year Overall League
'06-'07 (27-6) (6-0) Regional Champions
'05-'06 (35-1) (8-0) State Champions
'04-'05 (35-0) (8-0) State Champions
3-Year: (97-7) (22-0) The Dynasty
AMAZING!!!

Was it just me or does Ben Howling have so much discipline on that UCLA ball club that with 1:11 left in the game and a clear slam dunk, didn't slam it home. Whoever that was kicked it out just to burn more time off the clock with a 8 point lead.
Now that was discipline!
Wow and so very cool.
Late!
