The shot above is that of former LSU women's basketball coach Pokey Chatman. She recently resigned because of an alleged, inappropriate sexual relationship with a former player. It also came out that LSU disallowed her to have one-on-one contact with players following a February complaint from an assistant coach. It's not known whether Chatman's actions with the former player happened when the player was actually on the team, but a source close to the team told ESPN.com "that's my understanding."
Aram thought: It's only a matter of time before a female high school sports coach gets popped for having "inappropriate relations" with a female member of her team. Yeah, I know, it will be a change of pace, compared to your typical male coach/female player fiasco. But will it be met with the same furor? Any parents have a take?

This has already happened at least twice that I personally know about. And the answer to your question is no. It is not viewed the same as male/female relationtionship. I know It happened a couple of years ago at Diamond ranch and at Bell Gardens. As far as I know nothing came of it.

I agree the Male coach with a female player get allot more frown upon then a Female on a Male..I do not see why the gay situation makes any differance. Gay people are part of society and that is not going to change. There are gays in the NBA, NFL and MLB....the WNBA and College level is no different. From a coach to a player in college or HS that is way out of bounds. WNBA, I can see this as acceptable. They are professionals. The fans know it happens and it is no secret. Kind of weird but we have grown to know that this Gay type stuff happens....this is the year 2007...I am not anti-gay or am I pro-gay but we cannot change what sex people choose to like even if it the same sex....that is what freedom in this country give people....Adult coaches preying on hs kids that sucks same sex or not. Adult college coaches on Adult college players no way it takes away from the game and it now becomes a pick up game (no pun intended)....How about owner of team with the coach....Phil Jackson and Buss daughter....adults professionals ok...gay or not gay.

Agreed wholeheartedly. I wonder what feminists will think when it's a woman-on-woman offense? Or what about male-on-male. Don't mean to be bleak, but it truly is a matter of time before it happens. I hope people are prepared, because it's going to be national news.

Time and time again, this has happened with either Woman coach or teacher and a male student or female student and the woman teacher/coach is allowed to leave quietly and teach/coach elsewhere. It's flat out bs. male coaches are guilty before innocent and woman coaches/teachers are told "This is not good, leave and we'll say you resigned".

I'm not worried about the wolves, so long as everyone stays civil. This LSU situation could open a huge can of worms as more is learned about the situation. I personally feel that this is interesting because, in the past, the problem has always inappropriate conduct between in a male/female direction, but I don't know if society is ready to handle it between same sexes. Could be an issue for Bill O'Reilly - that type of thing.

WOW! Aram this is a deep subject and all the wolves will come out in this one. All the inuendos may come out about certain girls High School Basketball coaches, where names will get mentioned here. Lets hope not. I do stand by the fact that if this goes on in the HS level that is unacceptable because of a student being a minor and the coach a adult. Arrest he or she. If the student is 18 it is still wrong because she is still a HS student. Dismissal of the coach should be done right there and then reguardless of a Male or Female coach. As far as College coaches having relations with their players, ethics wise it is wrong because of special perks the student will get from the coach concerning playing time etc........as far as having a relationship with a adult college player Female to Female then the coach should resign from the coaches spot and have their relationship based on just that. If the coach is just using these girls for strictly pleasure with no strings attached then she is totally wrong by this. this should not happen at all. The coach being the older of two should know better.
